'Everybody wanna try to box me in, suffocatin' every time it locks me in.'
Kelly walked around the ward; she rubbed her hands together after putting sanitiser on them before walking over to the room of her next patient. She glanced through the slit in the window before entering the room, "Hello," she said in a cheery voice. Her eyes flickered up to the name of the young man in the bed; it was on a whiteboard to the side of his bed. "Mr Norris."Lando looked up from his phone to the woman in scrubs who stood at the end of his bed. She held his notes, looking down at them; the first thing he noticed about her was her hands. They held the clipboard delicately, her nails were long and red, and on her left hand, the third finger was a tattoo of loads of little black stars.
"How are you feeling?" She asked him as Lando watched her move around the bed. Her brown eyes looked into his as she smiled at him.
"Much better," Lando told her as she reached for his hand and started to feel for his pulse. "When do you think I'll be getting out of here?"
Her eyes looked to her small stopwatch as she counted before she let go of his hand. "It looks like we are still waiting for your results to come back from some of your tests."
Lando rolled his eyes as he let out a small groan. "It wasn't even a big deal," he spoke about the crash he'd been in on track. "All this is just a precaution."
Kelly raised an eyebrow, "What happened?" She took his temperature, casually doing her job, noting stuff down on his charts as she waited for his answer.
"I was in a bit of a crash in my car," Lando told her a part truth. It seemed that this nurse didn't know who he was, and it was refreshing just to be seen as a normal person.
She looked up from the clipboard and let out a small laugh; Lando watched her as she shook her head. She was different to the girls he usually had in his life. Her brown hair was pulled into a tight high ponytail; the tips of the hair was a dark blue colour which matched the scrubs that she wore. Her figure seemed to be hidden by the oversized clothes she wore, but that only intrigued Lando more. Even in this heat, she wore a long-sleeved top under the blue work top, making Lando wonder what she could possibly be hiding.
Kelly put her elbows on the table that went across the end of the bed; she looked at Lando before shaking her head again. "If you've been in an accident, it's always best to get thoroughly checked out. I know it takes a while to be seen but making sure you're healthy is important." She looked at the young man who sat up in the bed. "I'll try to get them to push through your results, though," Kelly laced her fingers together as she subtly checked him out. He looked cute, innocent, someone different to the men she usually hung out with. "Lando," she glanced up at his name before looking back at his face. "That's pretty unusual."
