You stand at the bottom of Dragonspine, gazing up at its intense winds that dance around the large mountain. You've never been here before, but you knew what you must do.
Albedo spends lots of time in Dragonspine. He's your bestest friend in all of Tevat, yet you think he could write you a letter telling you he's alright?! Usually, he either comes and visits Mondstadt to see you, or he sends you a letter. At least twice a week, though it's been a month. No Albedo. No letter. This never happens.
You never worry of him too much. He knows how to take care of himself and is always consistent in keeping you updated. So when there is a break in his consistency, of course you expect the worse has happened.
You are only a simple chef, helping Sara at the Good Hunter. You don't posses any fighting abilities or a vision for that matter. Sara tried to convince you not to go, to send a search party for Albedo. But you insisted you went. You cared for him more than anything, and you knew the search party won't last long up their either. So, might as well succeed, or die trying.
You take a deep breath before taking your first chilling step into Dragonspine. You made sure to bring lots of proper necessities and a torch with you. You begin to trek up the mountain, fearful of the outcome of this journey. You didn't even say goodbye to any of your friends or family. If you die... no one— no one would know. You shake the intrusive thoughts out of your mind and keep thinking optimistically.

Hours have passed. You're legs are sore and your entire body feels numb. You can't remember when you started shivering, but the sound of your teeth chattering is background noise at this point. It's beginning to become dark. Everything feels like knives stabbing you from every angle because of the freezing cold. You could almost feel your body shutting down. In the end, you accept fate.
This is it. This is the end of the road. You didn't succeed. But, you're about to die. You tried. Consciousness fades in and out. You try whisper out your last words... nothing comes out but raspy squeaks.
"I'm sorry, Albedo. I'm sorry. I wish I could have heard your voice one last time, felt your hug one last time... Albedo..."
Everything fades to black.

"[Y..../N]— [Y/N]." Your eyes flutter open. Reaching to the voice that calls your name. Holding onto your last chance of life. Finally opening your eyes, Oceanic eyes gaze into your own. Ashy-blonde hair completely messed and all over around him.... Albedo?
"Thank the Archons you're alright. Why were you in Dragonspine? If Timaeus didn't see you on his way down, you would've frozen to death." His eyes look red and his eye bags are darker than ever. You survived.... You survived! And... Albedo is alright.
"Oh thank Barbatos you're okay!" You yelped, quickly sitting up to hug him. "I thought something bad happened! I was worried sick about you!" You exclaimed. Your sudden actions took him by surprise, but he then hugged you back.
"How must have I made you worry? I sent you a letter not too long ago." Albedo explained. You pull back from the hug to look at him in the eyes, both of you confused.
"I never got any letter." You replied. Albedo zoned out in thought, thinking of the different outcomes.
"Maybe the letter got lost along the way..." he began mumbling about all the different ways how the letter got lost.
"Whatever, I'm just glad you're okay." You smile at him, happy and relived. He smiled back at you, but soon changed his expression (vaguely) to frustration.
"Never do that again, [Y/N]. If the cold didn't take your life, there are thousands of different ways you could have died. Have you not seen the amount of dangerous entities that linger around? And—" he never usually rambles this passionately about anything... he looks down, and pulls you back into a hug, squeezing you with his nose buried in your neck.
"If I lost you... I fear what I would become. You are my grounding, [Y/N]. You can't depart yet... not yet." You hug him and rub his back gently and loving.
"You know I would never. I'm a tough cookie." You laugh and he hugs you tighter.
"Ilovyu.." Albedo mumbles under his breath. Confused, you pull away from his grasp so you could look at him.
"I love you." He repeats. You're eyes and widen and your cheeks heat up. Did he... did he just confess...?!?! Quickly, you grab his face and pull him towards you, interlocking your lips.
"I love you too, Albedo." He smiles gently, the two of you held each other in your arms. Embracing each others presence.
Both of you could never been happier.
