A/N: What's said about the Fatui in this chapter isn't exactly canon!

"Mommy?" Haru stood at the stairs and peered through the railing at us. My eyes widened as I stared at him in shock. He definitely heard your entire conversation, the little eavesdropper! Though, you were speaking quite loud— dammit.

"Haru, why don't you come sit down with us?" You snapped your head at Childe who said that.

"I'm not going to run, hide and lie anymore. He needs to know." When he said that, something flourished through you.

"What's going on, Mommy? Mask-Man is my... Papa?" Tears started to well up in your eyes. The very fact that your son was talking about a father. He never even mentioned the idea of not having a dad ever to you.

"Y-Yes. His name is Chil—"

"Ajax. My name is Ajax." You used to call him that. But when he joined the Fatui, he thought even telling people his given name would be dangerous. So he went by the Aliases Childe and Tartaglia.

"Wow! I finally have a Papa! All my friends back in Qingce Village had Papas and said they played catch and learned how to ride a bike with their Papas. Though, Mommy did those with me!" Haru's reaction wasn't exactly what you weren't expecting, it's just unheard of to you.

"Why were you away for so long anyway?"

"Well, because I had a scary and dangerous job, I myself, was scared for Mommy. Having connections with anyone wasn't allowed, so I had to leave her. If I didn't leave, they'd kill us both and my family. I felt like if I didn't say anything and just left, Mommy would hopefully forget about me..." You stared at Childe in disbelief. He was just trying to protect his family. To protect you.

"... You still could have hinted at it in a note."

"Mommy! Mask-Man was protecting all of us! It's not about you this time!" You stared shocked at Haru. That was the first time he seemed genuinely mad at you. Sure he has his temper tantrums, but this time he was mad because of you. And he was right. All this time you've been making his departure all about yourself, when he was just doing what he thought was right. And honestly, he didn't even have a choice in the matter.

"So, Mask-Ma— I mean, Papa. Are you going to stay now?"

"O-Oh, uhm. I mean, I'd love to. I want to see you age and mature and grow old with Mommy. I want to protect you guys like I always have, but this time, I want to be here with the both of you." Tears flowed out of your eyes. What you always dreamed for is coming true. A happy, loving family. He described exactly what you wanted.

"Well, Mommy?!" Haru had his eyes glued on you, anxiously awaiting your response.

"I-I'd— I'd love that too." Haru threw his hands up in excitement and ran to hug you. Childe smiled at the two of you. You smiled back at him and opened one of your arms, signalling to come join the hug. His eyes widened in happiness and he glomped the two of you. Finally, everyone is together. Just how you wanted. Just how everyone wanted.
