Diluc x Reader [Conflicted]

You arrived in Mondstadt about a month ago. You recently helped Jean, Venti and Diluc fight Dvalin together and bring him peace. You and Diluc had started to become good friends. You often hung out in the bar with him and would visit sometimes at the winery.

It's been about a day after fighting Dvalin. You were helping Diluc clean around the tavern this afternoon because of the big party that was thrown last night. As you both were cleaning, there was a peaceful, comfortable silence amongst the both of you. Suddenly, someone barged through the door. It was one of the knights. Diluc groaned in annoyance.

"Miss [Y/N], Acting Grand Master Jean would like to see you in her office immediately." You blinked your eyes and looked over to Diluc, then back at the knight. Maybe Jean wants to talk about the Dvalin situation?

"Uhm, yes of course. Diluc, wanna come?" You turned and smiled at him politely, awaiting his response. He simply shook his head 'no' and continued cleaning.

"Oh, okay then. I'll come back after and help!" You were sad that Diluc didn't want to go with you. Your crush on Diluc was starting to get bigger and bigger. But... you two were just friends! Nothing more! You waved to Diluc as you started to make your way to Jean's office.

You knock on her door and slowly enter. Lisa, Amber, Venti, Kaeya and Barbara was also there too?! What's going on...?

"[Y/N]! You're finally here!" Amber says and her along with Venti run up to you and give you a big hug.

"... And of course, Diluc didn't come." Kaeya said sort of mockingly.

"H-He has a lot of cleaning to do at the tavern. Also... what's all this about?" You look at Jean who started to get serious and the room quieted down.

"[Y/N], ever since you arrived, you've been helping out every single citizen of Mondstadt with all of your effort. You put an enormous amount of passion into everything you do. Your incredible skill in everything you do is not something to ignore either. Everyone is ecstatic whenever they get to talk to you. You have proven true greatness amongst everyone. So, as the Acting Grand Master, I simply knew what I had to award you. You, [Y/N], are offered the title; The Honorary Knight of Favonious." You stood there astonished. All you were doing was what always came naturally to you. Everyone had excited looks on their faces.

"I-I don't know what to say... Thank you so much, Jean, everyone. I'm so happy all of my greatest friends were hear to be with me for his amazing new start to my life! Too bad Diluc couldn't be here..."

"Now, I'll let you go for now, but if you have any questions, my door is open to you." You smiled again at Jean and thanked her a million times over. You are the new Honorary Knight. You can't let the people of Mondstadt down now!

You ran towards Angel's Share, excited to tell Diluc about the good news. You barged open the door and ran up to him. He seemed surprised at your sudden entrance and scolded you for handling the door so harshly.

"Guess what!"

"... What?"

"I'm now officially a member of the Knights of Favonious! And not only that, I am the Honorary Knight! Gosh, I'm so happy! Now I really want to help out as much as I can! I want people to know that they can trust me with whatever they ne—"

"What?!" Diluc's voiced echoed across the tavern. You jolted, and finally noticed the expression that contorted his face. And that's when you remembered how much Diluc despised the Knights of Favonious.

"D-Diluc, wait a second—"

"Oh my Archon. You've got to be kidding me. Jean awarded you such a stupid title?! Now you're a Knight of Favonious?! Great. Just fantastic." You have never seen him so angry before... your heart ached and you could feel yourself about to tear up.
