Thank you again for your help, Sinister.

"Congratulations Ms. Rousseau, you got this job." I grin as I show off my perfect white teeth. I couldn't believe I got this job. After trying so hard for a perfect job I got this one and I couldn't be happier than this. My degree will not be wasted now.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Bernadi. You are not going to regret for hiring me" With a smile on my face, I stated.
"I hope so as well. Ms. Rousseau. Are you going to start teaching tomorrow or do you need some time to settle in?" True, I need some time to adjust to my new environment. I grew up in America, although my father was French and my mother was American. They first met when my mother travelled to France for business. They met, fell in love, married, and had me there. I spent my whole childhood in America with my parents, but recently, I had to run away from there, I'm scared to death simply thinking about the scenario I left behind. I moved to Italy because I wanted to start a fresh start away from my problems. I'm not sure why I had to travel here from all over the world, but I believe I can start my new life here.
"Mr. Bernadi, Can I perhaps begin on Monday?" He nodded and started signing on a piece of paper.
"You can Ms. Rousseau," he added, handing me the paper. I looked over it and noticed the contract. I have to teach in this school for a year since their English teacher had to take a leave for a year because she was pregnant and couldn't continue teaching for a few months after giving birth, and I saw it as a wonderful chance and applied for this post, which I received because of my luck. Even if this is a temporary position, it is better than being unemployed in this new country. This job is important for me to pay my bills.
"Thank you, Mr. Bernadi," he nodded, and we rose to our feet. We exchanged handshakes before I decided to take my leave. I started grinning like a fool as I got out of school. I am grateful for this position and could not ask for anything better. I began walking towards a bus stop that is five minutes away. Because I don't have a car, I must rely on public transportation until I can get one.
Thank God, I caught the bus on time, as it was already dusk. I want to be home before it gets dark. When the bus arrived in front of my stop, I swiftly got out and began walking towards my destination.
I have to walk through a dark alley to get to my apartment, which gives me the chills and shivers in a bad way. As I have a little saving with myself, I have to rent a small apartment in a crappy neighbourhood.
In the morning We couldn't discover anything creepy about this neighbourhood. However, as the nighttime approaches, I can see the scary people wandering the streets. I can even make out some people with firearms in their hands, and the way they look and behave tells me they're criminals. I exhaled in relief as soon as I walked into my apartment. I slumped against the couch. I'm exhausted from today's event. I wanted to take a little nap, but I couldn't. This flat still needs to be cleaned. Even though I could tidy this up tomorrow morning, I have lots of plan for tomorrow. I sighed and stood up to clean.
After 3 hours, I was exhausted and wanted nothing more than to eat and sleep. Thank God for the landlord who provided me with some furniture in addition to this apartment. I opened the fridge and looked inside, but there was nothing to eat. I frown because I'm hungry and don't have anything to eat. I'm going to faint if I don't eat something since, I haven't eaten anything since the morning. I assume I'll have to leave this apartment late tonight to go grocery shopping.
I collected some money and walked out of the apartment, not before locking the apartment door behind me. While walking, I turn around to see if someone is following me. I can hear screams coming from one of the houses, but I don't dare to stop my feet since I know if I go there, I'll die in an instant. It's a common occurrence, and I know if I indulge in it, I'll be ruined. I quicken my pace and, to my delight, I can see the store.
After getting the necessities, I headed to my small flat, which became my home. I didn't hear the footsteps heading my way while walking, and because of my carelessness someone clamped their dirty hands over my mouth muffling my scream.
"Be quiet, honey, if you want to live to see the next morning. Am I clear?" I couldn't help but nod.
"Good girl," he said as he took his hands away from my lips, giving me a chance to scream my heart out. Even though I know no one will come to my help, there is nothing to lose, right?
"You bitch," I didn't see the punch coming at me, and the next thing I knew, I was laying on the muddy ground, blood streaming from my smashed lips.
"You're going to pay, you bitch," I shook my head violently and immediately stood on my unsteady legs. He was approaching me, and I didn't hesitate to sprint away from him as if my life depended on it, which it did.
"Stop running away, you are not going to get away from this" I didn't dare to stop and kept running, but he gets a hold of my wrist and made me scream in terror and pain as his nails dug brutally into my wrist.
"Now I'm going to have so much fun breaking you," I shook my head.
"Please let me go," he chuckles bitterly before gazing me in the eyes.
"Never" I started crying, pleading with him to let me go, but he didn't listen and began pulling me down an empty street. Every single person watched me battling against him, but instead of coming to my help, most of the men began laughing at my misery. More tears streamed down my face. I suppose this is my fate; I'll die miserably today.
"She said to let her go" I heard someone's deep voice spoke from behind us. The man next to me chuckles evilly before spinning us around to face the owner of the voice, who was dressed in a black hoodie that hid his face from the crowd.
"And who the hell are you to tell me in this matter?" I assumed he would not respond, but to my surprise, he did, and what he said chilled me with his deep and sinister voice.
"Sinister," I can feel the man beside me turning pale and his grip on me loosening.
"Sinister, I didn't realise she was yours," the man next to me murmured, pushing me towards the mysterious man who had saved me. The man dashed away, as if he was being pursued by the monster. I turn to face Sinister, who look intimated, and I sense a menacing energy around him.
"Thank you for saving me from him," he just nodded. It's too uncomfortable when the other person says nothing in response. We were silent for a minute before I decided to leave.
"Thank you again for your help, Sinister. I should probably go" He didn't say anything, so I knew it was time to go. I hurriedly gathered up my scattered items and half-run from there. The entire walk to my apartment seemed like I was being watched, but I didn't dare to look around since I knew I would be in great danger if I did. I breathed a sigh of relief once I was safely inside the apartment.
"What a day it was?" I whispered to myself and went to bed since the instant that man touched me, my hunger vanished. I can picture the mysterious man who saved my life as soon as I close my eyes.
