Chapter=23.
How could you be so careless, Bella, didn't you learn from your last lesson?
...
I cried all the way to his car, and he was about to throw me in when a powerful shout erupted, filled with such rage and anger that I felt relieved to hear it.
"Get off your filthy hand from her," Antonio ordered as he stepped to our right, holding a gun in his hand. When I look at the gun, my eyes widen. I fix my focus on my parents, who seem startled and frozen. They're probably wondering how he got a weapon while working as a teacher at a school.
"And who the heck are you?" Matthew asked as his grip on my arm tightened.
"Your worst nightmare," Antonio exclaimed, the words that made me tremble in horror. Matthew laughed out loud before a sneer formed on his face.
"Get out of my way," he snarled as he forced me into the car, but seeing Antonio gave me the confidence I had lost only minutes earlier, gave me strength. Antonio will undoubtedly save me from the monster. On this, I have trust in him. I slipped out from his clutches and took a step backwards before he could grab me. His eyes turned furious and cold, making me want faint in dread. However, before he could even touch me, Antonio was by my side, enveloping me in his arms and finally enabling me to breathe a sigh of relief.
Matthew exclaims, "Get away from my girl," as he stares at me with distaste and bewilderment.
Antonio chuckled sarcastically. "She's my girl, Matthew Garcia," he adds. "You will regret meeting me if you ever touch her or her parents again. You've no clue what I can do with the likes of you. I will wreck destruction on your life. Begin your countdown, Garcia, because I am not going to wait for you to calm down before I take you down with your mistress." My eyes opened with surprise. I look over at Matthew, who seems as bewildered as I am.
"Wh...what are you talking about?" Matthew asked, his voice trembling slightly.
Antonio has a grin on his face. "Grace such a beautiful woman you have with you, However, it will not be the same if I kill you in front of her. What would happen if I kill you while leaving your mistress and son alone? Don't you think they'll be relieved that you're no longer a part of their lives?" Matthew's eyes have a tinge of fear in them.
"Who are you? And how did you know about them?" I've never seen him show fear in front of others. He seems very different in front of Antonio, as if he is vulnerable, and I love it.
"It's up to me to know it, and it's up to you to figure it out." Antonio let go of me and took a stride towards Matthew before adding, "I am aware of all the sins you have committed in your life. Believe me, Matthew, I'm going to ruin your life just like you did to Bella and her family. You'll be sorry you ever met her." Finally, Matthew focused his eyes on Antonio before shifting it to me. His dark look almost caused me to forget how to breathe.
"You're going to regret this, Bella," he murmured as he walked away in his car, leaving us relieved. As soon as he walked away, I looked at Antonio, who had his hands tucked into his pants pocket and a smirk on his face, despite the fact that he had just horrified a well-built man.
"Antonio," I said, getting his attention.
"Yes, my darling," he said as I cross my hands across my chest.
"What exactly do you mean by 'he has a mistress and a son'? And how did you learn about this?" I demanded, perplexed by the facts he had just shared.
"Yes, he has a mistress and a child. He was enraged when you ran away from him, and that's when he met Grace, who became his mistress. I'm not sure about her background, but they do have a son. According to my sources, he might be two years old. I bought the loyalty of a man who worked for Matthew." He shrugged and replied.
