Chapter 13: Going home
Everything was ready. The boat was fixed, our stuff was packed, and all that was left was the moment of truth. Moving the boat. The three of us went to the back of the boat and put our hand on the side.
"This is the last time we'll see this horrible island," Dad said. He took his hands off the boat and stood at the sea shore and faced the island. "GOODBYE BEDMAR ISLAND!" He yelled. I walked over to where he was standing and too said,
"GOODBYE!!!!" Mom decided to join us. As we yelled, a flock of birds flew over.
"Goodbye island" I whispered as we all walked back to the boat.
Again, we all put our hands on the boat. Dad nodded his head, and we pushed! We pushed that boat so hard you wouldn't know how much energy it took! Sweat ran down our faces as we smiled, we were getting off that island, and nothing would stop us. The boat started to move and so did our feet. As the boat moved off the shore, we started laughing. The boat was moving, and we were going home. The harder we pushed, the more real it was. The boat splashed into the oceans waters and the three of us climbed in. The boat slowly drifted away from the shore. I could see a tear go down my mother's face. We were going home, and nothing could stop us. Not a storm, not a wave, not the sea. My advice, read this paragraph again, and ask good or Siri or Alexa to play the avatar last air bender main theme. It makes it dramatic!
"We're going home......"
