Before Clarke knew it Friday had arrived. She was excited for two reasons. 1. It was Halloween, and 2. She didn't have to worry about her mountain of work growing for 2 days after her last class.

With Lexa's help she had made a decent dent in her late work but she was still incredibly stressed about catching up. The Halloween dance and the haunted house were going to be good for her. She needed to just have fun and forget about her worries even if it was only for a couple of hours.

Lexa yawned as she inspected the girls room before their morning run. Clarke watched her feeling guilty. Clearly helping her was taking a toll on Lexa, she was probably staying up late every night finishing her own work.

As their morning workout progressed Clarke kept noticing more evidence of Lexa's exhaustion. She tripped over vines on their morning run, she dropped a weight on her own foot during lift, and to both of their surprise, got nailed in the face by Clarke's roundhouse kick.

Lexa stumbled back and fell to the floor, hands quickly flying to her face. Clarke stood in shock for a moment. She had zero expectations for her kick to actually make contact. Lexa always dodged them with ease.

Clarke dropped to her knees at Lexa's side. "Are you okay? I'm so sorry I didn't mean to actually kick you."

Lexa was grimacing in pain when she turned to Clarke, her eye already starting to swell shut. "Don't worry about it, it happens. I should've been paying closer attention."

"Your eye is swelling shut." Clarke groaned.

"I thought so." Lexa closed the other eye and looked around blindly to confirm.

"Let me help you to the infirmary." Clarke offered.

"That won't be necessary." Lexa dismissed the offer.

Clarke groaned internally at Lexa's stubbornness. She knew it was probably fine but she still wanted Lexa to get checked out just in case. She didn't know if she would be able to forgive herself if something bad happened to Lexa because of her.

"Come on, just a quick check-in. Please, if not for you for my peace of mind?" Clarke practically begged.

Lexa pondered the idea for a minute before nodding. Clarke quickly got to her feet and held out a hand to help Lexa up. Once they were both on their feet again Lexa walked over to Bellamy to tell him what happened and where they were going.

Bellamy had a look of surprise on his face when she got his attention. The look quickly turned to confusion. Clarke could tell when Lexa told him what had happened because he made eye contact with her across the room. He looked impressed which gave Clarke the impression that Lexa didn't get hit often.

Lexa returned a minute later to head to the infirmary. Clarke walked next to her watching closely for any signs of dizziness., ready to stabilize her if necessary. She felt guilty looking at Lexa's already swollen eye. She was just relieved that Lexa had agreed to go to the infirmary. She wasn't sure if it was because Lexa was in pain or because of the obvious worry that had been in her voice when she'd insisted Lexa had to get checked out. She hoped it was the latter.

"I really am fine, Clarke." Lexa reassured her as they walked past the fountain.

"I'll feel better when Dr. Jackson says that."

"I have a high pain tolerance."

"Well being kicked in the eye is highly painful and you've barely reacted so I noticed that."

"Years of fight training helps me bounce back fast."

"Are you planning to go into the military?"
