"I'll ask him to keep it down."
Y/n, at the ripe age of 20 had finally made the courageous decision to move out of home to pursue her dream of acting. Moving from Australia all the way to the US by herself was scary, but she knew she had to do it. She was tired of living in fear- tired of feeling so trapped and disadvantaged.
Her house was full of boxes- all labelled and stacked neatly. It was close to 9pm by the time she had gotten everything inside, and she just wanted to relax for a bit- but she knew she didn't have the time.
So with the weight of being jet lagged and the unfamiliarity, she began unboxing and setting up her room.
It took a few hours- now closer to midnight by the time her room was set up to standard.
She plopped on her bed, closing her eyes to try and sleep when-
"LETS GOOOOOOOO!"
She let out a soft sigh, rolling over and trying to sleep. The neighbours voices just kept getting louder and louder- she had an audition tomorrow! She needed sleep!
So- she did something she never thought she could do.
Dressed in sweatpants and an oversized sweater, she slid on some slippers and marched to the neighbours house, suddenly feeling anxious. She gave a gentle knock on the door, standing for a few seconds before it swung open.
And standing there was the most gorgeous man she had ever laid her eyes on.
"Hey, sorry can I help you?"
Y/N just... stared. She swallowed thickly, feeling heat rush to her cheeks before remembering why she was out in the dark in the first place.
"I don't want to be... that neighbour but could you and you... friend... keep it down? Usually I wouldn't mind but I have an audition tomorro-"
"You have an accent. Your not from around here"
Smart boy. Just kidding. Anyone would be able to tell.
"I just moved in today"
Y/NS POV
He gave me a welcoming smile,
"I'm sorry, I'll ask my friend to keep it down. Welcome to Florida, and good luck on your audition-"
He seemed to close the door on me quicker than he swung it open.
That bastard. Hah, whatever. I went to open my front door to head to bed before-
Shit. First night here and I've already locked myself out.
I let out a frustrated sigh, hearing the click of a door open from beside my house. I punched my door in anger. Just great.
The man who had just so arrogantly shut the door in my face peaked out of his front door, looking over to me as I slid down my door in defeat.
It was silent- well, keyword was
"Come inside its cold"
He offered me, to come inside?
"You can use my phone to call the landlord, you have your audition tomorrow"
I shakily got up, blushing slightly from embarrassment. Well if I didn't seem crazy before- I do now.
I brushed myself off and walked inside of this strangers house.
"Im sapnap. And you are?"
"Y/N. Y/N L/N."
He gave me a small smile. I don't know why I trusted this stranger.
"I'll get you a blanket. You can stay on the couch until the landlord can unlock your door." He snickered, making me roll my eyes.
"Don't be a jerk"
"Okay miss 'it's my first night here and I'm already locked out of my house'" he teased, making me whine
The street seemed more appealing.
He gave me a sympathetic look, as his- friend? Roommate? Entered the living room.
"Who are you talking to-"
"Clay, this is Y/N. She's the new neighbour."
"Ah, okay well im going to bed- why is the neighbour on our couch?"
"She-"
"I locked myself out accidentally when I came over to tell you to shut up."
Clay gave me what I assume was an apologetic look,
"I'm so sorry- I'll try to be more aware of the time and stuff I don't mean to be-"
"It's okay." I gave him a small smile as sapnap left to get me a blanket. He laid it over me, giving his friend a pat on the shoulder.
"Goodnight y/n, I'll call the landlord so you don't miss your audition. Sleep well. If you need anything my room is the first one on the right, bathroom is next to my room."
I gave him a nod, pulling the blanket up over my shoulders and let out a soft sigh.
"Goodnight. Thank you"
I waited for the two men to disappear before closing my eyes, allowing myself to drift to sleep in this strangers house
