CHAPTER THIRTEEN

How'd they react.

It had been two days since the Halloween party- y/n had been streaming a lot more lately, actually getting paid for her content now which felt AWESOME.

She had also been helping others with filming vlogs and other content. Needless to say, she was a big help for others.

It was a Wednesday afternoon, and she sat at home by herself for the first time in a while just... thinking.

Was she ready to tell the internet she was in a relationship? Hell, she hadn't even told her parents yet! She figured she should probably start with that....

She opened her laptop, opening Skype and discord- sending sapnap a message first.

>telling my parents we are together
>wish me luck.

It was only a matter of minutes before there was knocking on her door. She stood up and answered, smiling at her boyfriend- still in his pjs.

At least she wasn't the only one having a lazy day.

"I'm here for moral support-"
"I know, come sit on the couch. You haven't met my parents yet so... be warned."

She got them both a drink before sitting next to him on the couch, placing her laptop on the coffee table infront of them and taking a deep breath- before pressing the call button on her moms contact.

Her mom was quick to answer.

"Y/N L/N could you please respond to my texts once and a while! You haven't posted on any social media either, none of us have heard from you in a few weeks!"

"I'm sorry mom! I've just been busy" she chuckled, tying her hair back into a messy bun.
"I'm talking to you now aren't I? How's dad? Anything new?"

"He's still working like crazy, I'm still teaching. Nothing new here. You'd never call to ask something like that- what's going on? Do you need to come home?"

"No! No no mom I just... wanted to tell you about someone."

"No boyfriends-"

"Mom please just listen. I'm dating this really great guy- and I have been for almost a month now. Did you want to meet him?"

Her moms face dropped. A month?! And she was only just hearing about this now?!

"Yes I want to meet him are you stupid!?" Y/N flinched at that. Ouch.

She looked to sapnap, who scooted closer into frame.
"Hello Mrs l/n. I'm sap."

She stared angrily at the screen, before her face relaxed. She pictured someone with long black hair- probably face tattoos, piercings- but... he looked friendly enough.

"Hello dear I'm y/n's mom. Your her... boyfriend?"

"I am indeed. It's lovely to finally meet you"
Y/N gave him thumbs up. This was... better than she thought.

"How'd you two meet? Work?"

"We're actually neighbours- uhm, my first night here I accidentally locked myself out of the house while trying to tell his roommate to shut up. Now we're good friends- you remember George right? Yeah he's also one of their friends."

Her mom looked shocked. She managed to make that many friends... little did she know.

"I get paid to make content online- not sex work or anything, I just stream video games and what not."

"Video games? You get paid to rot your brain like that?"

"Not just video games! Sometimes I play some music, and sometimes I just vlog my days. It's really cool! I have alot of fans and stuff now-"

"So your like- some kind of online influencer?"

"Well- yes. That's pretty much it" y/n laughed, looking to her boyfriend.

"I just wanted to tell you I'm seeing someone before it gets out online- I didn't want you to find out that way."

"I appreciate that... I'll tell your father. I have to get ready for bed love- it's late. I.. love you, be safe, please just call me soon."

"I will. Bye mom"
Y/N was quick to hang up, letting out a heavy breath.

Sapnap just pulled her into his arms, leaning back to just cuddle her into the couch.

"Sorry- my mom is... she has a hard time expressing how she feels about me and stuff. She's always been on my ass my whole life-"

"Shh, it's okay. At least it's over" he chuckled, happy to just hold her for the next few minutes in comfortable silence.

Of course, that silence didn't last long.
Sapnaps phone started to ring- it was Dream wondering where the fuck he went.

"I'm just next door- I met the parents, well, one of them" he chuckled, talking to dream for a bit before hanging up.
"When did you.. want to go public?"

"What?"

"Like... how... when... are you ready to tell the internet?"

"I am if you are." Y/n smiled,
"You have a lot more fans then I do, I only have half the viewers you do."

"That's still a lot" he was right. It was still a lot of people that cared about her- so she figured telling the internet wouldn't be so bad.

Besides, she just told her mom- which was a lot more pressure than the world.

Sapnap decided to take the leap, opening up Twitter to make a quick teaser tweet.

"I'm gonna look so cringe. That takes half your pressure off-"

"Just telling my own mother took half the pressure off. I don't care what strangers on the internet think- well I do cause it's like my job but you know what I mean. Whatever trolls say isn't going to stop me from caring about you"

"I love you" sapnap blurted out, running a hand through her hair.

She loved him too. From the start it was more than a crush. That she understood.

"I love you too." She smiled in return- leaning in to press their lips together in a gentle kiss- before pulling away to open Twitter.

"Ew that is a cringe tweet- it's literally the afternoon now too which is even funnier- it's not even morning!"

"Shush,time isn't real"

Y/n giggled at her boyfriend, typing up a tweet of her own.
"There we go. We can do a question stream later!! Content!" She snickered.

"I'm up for it. My house or here?"
"Depends if you wanna just VC and stream at the same time or if you just want to stream or do I just stream? Facecam? What's going on?"

Sapnap chuckled at all her questions.
"Facecam. Let's do it here, that way we don't have to worry about dream."

They told the internet.
It was just a matter of how they'd react.
