Audition
Y/N's POV
I had decided to dress in a black pleated skirt and a burgundy sweater, styling my hair the best I could with the hour I had left. I brushed my teeth and headed back over to the neighbours house.

I knocked gently on the door, and watched as clay swung it open.
"Aren't you dolled up. Sap is just getting dressed now- he won't take long. Come in" he smiled towards me, letting me inside.

I stepped inside with a small nod, thanking him and sitting on the couch. It was odd- odd that I felt so comfortable with these strangers already. If I was still in Australia, I know damn well I wouldn't have befriended strangers so quickly.

I know my parents would have belittled me about it too.
Which is why I won't be talking to them for a while.
Not until I'm on stage, on film- doing something they never believed I could.

Clay must have caught me thinking, cause he sat beside me with a 'huff'
"What's on your mind?"
"Oh you know, the usual."
"No... no I don't" he laughed softly, turning around as sap entered the room.

"You ready for your audition y/n?"
"As ready as I'll ever be, I guess." I responded nervously with a giggle, standing and brushing my skirt down.

"Is this for a show? Or like a tv audition-"

"I'm auditioning for a musical- dear Evan hansen? Have you ever-"

"Yeah I've heard of it- good luck" he chuckled, grabbing his keys and opening the front door.
"Ladies first- got what you need clay?"

He gave his friend a nod and we got out and into the car. Suddenly, nerves hit me harder than expected. I closed my eyes, trying to ignore my racing heartbeat.

We got about halfway to the hall where auditions were being held- and I couldn't choke back the tears any longer.
"I-I can't- please I can't-"

"Hey hey hey... what's wrong hey..." sapnap almost instantly pulled over, turning to me.
"Breathe cmon- it's okay just breathe"

He was... so soft spoken.
His voice was enough to slightly calm me.
But when he reached an arm out to gently wipe the tears off my cheek, I couldn't help but match my breathing with his as his hand lingered against my tearstained skin.

"There you go... just breathe. It's okay... we don't have to do this today don't worry, if your not feeling up to it I can take you home."

I sniffled and nodded,
"Y-yes please sorry I know it's annoying a-and you have things to do-"

"Do you mind going to the airport? It's only ten minutes from here then I'll take you straight home?"

I gave him a nod. I'd be fine- I just... couldn't audition today. I knew I was unprepared and overtired. It wasn't a good idea and I wanted to make the right decision for myself mentally and physically.

"Okay darling, don't stress. We just have to pick up clays boyfriend from the airport so you don't need to stress-"

"George is not my boyfriend!"
"But you want him to be-"
"Shut up dude!"

I couldn't help but giggle at their antics. So Clay was gay- that's cool.
I never really thought about my sexuality, but I'm pretty carefree. I never like to judge people- which has gotten me hurt in the past but it's okay. It's cliche Im better now that I'm free from my old town.

After another minute or so, sapnap got back on the road and started to drive the rest of the way to the airport.

The rest of the drive was pretty silent, just the sound of soft music coming from the radio.
'How to save a life' was playing. The silence was filled by soft mumbled from sapnap himself.

I felt heat rush to my cheeks.
I'm not into him, but that was sweet.

It wasn't much longer until we parked at the airport, and almost instantly Clay was out of the car, running to hug who I assume was his 'boyfriend'. Sapnap pulled his phone out to record it.

I kept myself quiet as to not ruin the video, turning to look into my lap and play on my phone.
I looked at the multiple unread texts and misscalls from people back home, letting out a breathy sigh.

That would have to wait.
