Quote-on-Quote 'official'
A few weeks had passed since the incident- George had flown back to England about a week ago and life was starting to turn back to normal.
Well the normal that was before the chaos.
Y/N was back at home, but spent more time over at dream and sapnaps house anyways.
She still wasn't comfortable sleeping in her own house- which was more than understandable.
She was seeing a therapist to get through it though- a suggestion from sapnap who thought it might help her feel a bit better considering the circumstances. She rightfully agreed.
It was 3pm on a Wednesday. Her third appointment with the therapist had gone well, and sapnap- as promised, was waiting right out the front to pick her up.
She got into the car, a small smile on her face.
"How'd it go?" Sapnap asked her, noticing the smile.
"I can talk about it- without crying now" she smiled proudly.
"How was your stream this morning?"
Oh yeah. Sapnap was back to streaming- as was dream. The three weeks off was what they needed most.
"It was fine. People are happy to see me back... which leads me to one thing... how would you like to stream tonight? You don't have to stream at home- I can go live and you can sit beside me. I just think maybe it's time the internet finds out about you, you know? I mean... that's if your ready."
Y/n thought for a second, before nodding.
"If you promise to sit beside me the whole time-"
"What if I need to get a drink?"
"Dehydrate."
"What if I need a snack?"
"Starve"
She giggled, as he reached to place a hand on her leg reassuringly.
"What if I need to pee, like really bad?"
She rolled her eyes, placing her hand over his.
"Then I guess you can go pee. Can we call with Karl tonight? Would he wanna go live too?"
Y/n and Karl had been talking quite a bit lately.
Sapnap couldn't help but feel jealous.
I mean... he had all this time to ask her out, but he didn't... why was that?
"Uhm... yeah sure I'll ask-"
"Your not.. jealous are you?" She giggled, looking at his face.
"You don't have to stress sap, you know your the only man who I have my eyes on."
He blushed lightly, keeping his eyes on the road.
It wasn't long until the made it home.
"Then let me be that man permanently... I mean..."
"We're practically dating already"
"You mean you-"
"You already know I have feelings for you- and your jealousy just proves you like me I just... haven't had a lot of experience with relationships- that's if you want to be in one-"
Okay, so it wasn't the most romantic way to ask someone out- on the drive home from therapy.
But hey, it was clarification for sapnap and that was enough for him.
"One, I'm not jealous. Two- do you want to... go out?"
Y/N couldn't help but giggle,
"I thought you'd never ask" she leaned over to kiss his cheek.
"Now let's go inside, I want cuddles from my boyyfriennddd"
They both laughed softly, exiting the car and connecting hands- entering the house.
Dream was on the couch, on the phone to George.
He looked up, giving a small wave to the two.
"Ew, holding hands? You guys are gonna get cooties! Sap and y/n sitting in a tree k-I-s-s-I-n-g!" He teased lightheartedly.
"Good afternoon to you too" y/n rolled her eyes, smiling smugly.
Dream continued on his conversation with George, before realisation hit him.
"WAIT ARE YOU TWO DATING?!?"
Sapnap laughed at his roommate/ best friend, turning to y/n.
"I dunno, are we darlin?"
"Hm, I wonder the same thing" she giggled, walking into his room with him.
"HEY! KEEP THAT BEDROOM DOOR OPEN I DONT WANNA HEAR NO HOKEY POKEY WHILE IM HOME!" Dream shouted from across the house, making the two burst into laughter.
SAPNAPS POV
I was happy to kick off my shoes- bellyflopping into my mattress. Everything was the same as it always was, even before we became quote-on-quote 'official'.
I opened my arms, and y/n was quick to climb into them. We were pretty happy with this routine, laying together, bodies intertwined as I turned on the tv and put on our show.
We laid in comfortable silence, just enjoying each others company and the warmth it provided.
We stayed like that for at least an hour; before she began to speak.
"You know, it feels like I found an extension of myself I never had."
I gave her a confused look.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Well, you helped me discover there is more to me than I thought. Like, I can be myself around you. Everything about you makes me feel warm- and safe. You were my hero weeks ago- and your my hero now. Everyday you get up to do your job, everyday you take care of me, and dream. Your just an everyday hero"
I blushed, that was... one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me- although I'd never consider myself a hero.
"I'm just doing my job"
"And that is?"
"Protecting you."
