Ch.Thirteen.

Maddie sat impatiently outside in the guest room. She was a room away from where they had supposedly taken Audrey.

She tapped her foot against the carpet, obviously expensive judging from the looks of it. Audrey had always complained Maddie's family owned unnecessary items which they could always go without, she didn't know what her friend would say if she saw the massive 4 panther statues on either side of the rooms here. What was even the purpose of having your very own statues?

Maddie looked down at the table in front of her, she could see her own reflection and she saw a brief moment of panic flash in her eyes. What would they answer to them? It only made sense for them to answer when Amber had already informed she'd been in a family dinner and was out for air then. Wait, there were no stairs leading to the top of the building. It was just a building top, not a terrace. Then how was Amber..

A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. Maddie flinched and got up in a rush, her elbow hitting the corner of the couch. She took her stance ready to fight, fists out and body a little hunched. She was about to inquire when she came face to face with the lady that had served them their meal today afternoon. The lady that had trembled in the presence of William. What in the world was she doing here?

"Good evening young Madam" the lady smiled and walked in, her dress touched her toes with her apron resting slightly above her knees. What was bizarre was the fact that she wore the same dress she'd worn today afternoon. The tag that said, "Mrs.Terry" rested on her chest proudly. A little too proud.

"This is herbal tea, only the best. " Mrs. Terry said as she put the cup of tea and a few snacks laid out evenly in a tray on the table. She bowed and was about to walk out when Maddie grabbed her arm in a quick haze. Maddie went for twisting the lady's arm when Mrs. Terry gave a slight laugh and hit Maddie in the stomach with her elbow, kicking her on the shin and taking over her in a split second. She held both of Maddie's wrist with her hand and laughed.

" Ma'am. I was only doing my work, it was inappropriate of you to attack me while I was at it." Mrs.Terry said as she quickly gave an apologetic nod, she released her.

"I...I'm sorry, the haze of being in an unknown area took a toll on me." Maddie spoke guiltily, "Are you the Maid here?"

" Yes I am. Im also the headcook and the caretaker of the young master in our house. I suppose you're his classmate?" She got a nod from Maddie.

" You're too strong for whatever job you do here though. " Maddie said as she massaged her wrists. She didn't fail to notice the slight drop of smile from the lady's lips, the eyebrow raise and that small shake of her hands. Mrs. Terry seemed to compose herself.

" As you know I'm the caretaker so I've learnt a few defense and attack, just in case. Not like young master falls in trouble or anything it is just for protecting him. We can't always be sure, given the rise in dangers today. " Mrs. Terry blabbered on. Maddie found herself noticing something else. As Mrs. Terry kept speaking, a flash of green could be seen from her mouth. It was almost as if she were a common vampire. It was almost as if they were Hana's fangs.

Mrs. Terry noticed Maddie and stopped speaking. She then said, " ah, look at me, eating your ears off. I'll leave you to it then young Madam. Enjoy your meal. " She bowed then left as quickly as she'd arrived.

Maddie looked at the tray on the table then back at the door. She did this for a few more times before she took one sip of the tea and rushed out of the door.

She stood standing in the middle of a corridor, too grand and shiny for her liking. This floor seemed to have only four rooms. It would make sense if all the floor rooms were as magnificent as the guest room, so magnificent in fact that they couldn't built any other rooms on this floor.

One of the doors opened then slightly, Maddie found herself hiding behind a pillar in a fruitful attempt. Out came William and his sister. William had his cheeks red and Maddie would understand if someone mistook him for a ripe tomato. Amber  on the other hand shared a worried look.

She was shocked the next second when Amber smacked William on the shoulder scolding, "we aren't supposed to take anybody, known or not, in our houses!"

"It's an apartment. " William had said.

" Whatever! You're taking it too lightly! Also do you even have an idea who she could be?" Amber said. Maddie noticed the fear in her voice, a shaking voice.

"Audrey McCain. And yes, I do know who she is,or could be." William assured his sister.

"Then why would you..." Amber trailed off, the last of her words barely audible, Maddie had to lean closer and strain her hearing, " her presence itself is threatening and dangerous." The two siblings walked away then, bickering all along.

" Threatening and Dangerous?" Maddie found herself muttering after the two siblings had disappeared in the corridor, how could her childhood friend ever be anything even remotely close to dangerous?

Maddie decided to barge into the room the two had come out from when the other door opened and she was forced to stay behind the pillar.

To her utter shock, Mr.Richard came out the door. Audrey had informed her about this particular sir, a pure blood. They had made a mental note to stay away from this teacher outside of classes. It was good that Maddie didn't take any history courses.

She couldn't wrap her head around why he would be here out of all places. He seemed to be in a really good mood at that, if the wide smile in his face was any indication. Just after him, a short black haired girl came out, boots clacking together. Ripped jeans and a tight leather jacket. Her style matched to Hana's, an awful lot.

Hold on a minute, it was Hana! Hana Whitlocks. She was wrapped in a tight embrace around Mr. Richard, she leaned on her tiptoes to kiss him on the cheek to which Mr. Richard gave out a fond laugh. They walked away laughing and talking, clinging to each other.

Maddie's jaw was hanging open and she ran from behind the pillar into the room she'd previously been in : the guest room. She slammed the door, way too loud and breathed. Her breaths uneven. Her mind took a flashback to what she'd seen just moments before and she found herself muttering,

" What the fuck?"
