I stood next to Eric and Cameron admiring the diamond ring shining on her finger.
"Really!" I said happiness filling me. They both nodded happily glancing at each other.
"I know we haven't been together for very long but. I don't know, I just couldn't live without her." Eric said. Cameron smiled kissing him lightly on the neck.
They had been dating since the 4th of July party so only around a month. Even though I thought they should have waited longer to make sure they fit well, I was happy for them.
"So when is the wedding?" I asked.
"There is still some things to work out but hopefully we will be able to have a Christmas wedding." Cameron said happily. I smiled hugging them both.
"This is great guys!" I said muffled in their arms.
Eric texted me later informing me they were having a party tonight in which they were going to announce their engagement.
"So," I said to Cameron who was sitting on my bed playing with the little ring on her finger. She looked up at me smiling.
"You don't think it's to soon do you?" She asked laying down.
I thought about it for a second before replying. "Yes, I think it's a little early, but I can tell how happy you guys are so I support you." I said sitting down on her. She laughed under my weight shoving me off the bed.
"Owww bitch." I said laughing.
I stood up again sitting on the corner of the bed. "We are going to be sisters." I said smiling at her. She nodded, a smile spreading from one cheek to another. "He is amazing. I have never felt like this about anyone before." She said in a daze.
"How did he purpose?" I asked laying down next to her. She smiled, "Well I didn't expect it at all." She said laughing a little, "We were sitting in a restaurant and we were just eating, nothing special and I had to go to the bathroom, and when I came back there was a candle on the table and he had magically changed into a tux. He stood up and walked over to me and just said 'I love you' and then he got down on one knee and purposed." She said blushing. I smiled knowing how happy she was. Cameron grew up with a hard life. With her mom not around anymore and her dad never caring it's been hard in her and her little brother Evan. I have grown up helping her through all the long nights her dad spent getting drunk and yelling until he passed out. When I was still in high school she would bring and extra pair of clothes to school just in case one day she finally had the guts to run away and leave that hell behind. But she never did, probably because of Evan, plus the worse part was she had no where else to go. The reason I think she fits with Eric so well is because he is exactly the kind of guy she never had a chance to fall in love with, and he is definitely the first to treat her right. Many of Cameron's recent boyfriends were just like her father in some ways but with Eric it was different.
They were a lot alike in many ways. They were both really sarcastic, they both had the biggest hearts and always wanted to fix someone else's problems or ease their pains, even when they were dealing with their own.
Both were generally very responsible which was probably an older sibling thing. Cameron had been my best friend since we were twelve. Our parents stuck us in the same school and we quickly bonded over teacher hatred. I'm so lucky to have an amazing friend, and now an amazing to be sister in law.
I got up off the bed moving to the closet. I started filing through my clothes for something to wear to the party tonight when Cameron stopped me, "Hey what about that one, you never wear that." she said pointing to the black crop top with a daisy print I was holding in my hand. I looked from her to the shirt making a little face.
"Oh come on, wear for me." Cameron said wiggling the ring on her finger again. I sighed rolling my eyes, I haven't worn this shirt since the first day I saw Kian when my car crashed, but it was her party so after a little bit of arguing I have up and put the shirt on.
Cameron had left an hour ago to go get ready for the party and now I was home alone. The thing about living alone is it is always quit so it's easy to think or sleep. I laid down in bed suddenly feeling very tired, I set an alarm and closed my eyes happy I could get some rest.
*
I open my eyes feeling Kian's arms around my waist. I turned facing him, he was still asleep. His face glowed with the afternoon sunlight. I smiled, he looked so peaceful. He stirred opening his eyes. "Good morning beautiful." He whispered kissing me. I snuggled into his arms listening to his heartbeat...

I woke up to my alarm going off. I opened me eyes feeling them fill with tears. I wanted to go back to bed and let the dream go on forever.
I wondered if he was dating Rebeca now since Jeremy broke up with her as soon as he learned what happened. I hated thinking about him with someone else. I sat up turning off my alarm that was still beeping on my nightstand. I walked over to my mirror frowning at my bed head and slightly messed up make up. I fixed my hair and cleaned up my make up, while sending a text to Cameron telling her I was on my way.
I walked out to my car enjoying the evening breeze. The wind rustled the tree leaves blocking out my sadness with the sweet smell of flowers. I drove to the club with the radio on low, it wasn't to far away since it was on the beach which was about five minutes away from my house. As I drove I thought about Kian. I missed him so much. I wished more than anything that dream was real, that I could still hold him close and love him. I have forgiven him, I made a mistake telling him goodbye, he messed up and I didn't even give him a chance. I kept wondering if he was with Rebeca now. But I shook the thought from my head again feeling anger and jealousy rise up in me.
The parking lot was already packed when I got there so I parked in the grass next to the beach. I could hear the music pounding when I got out of the car. I didn't really want to be around anyone right now but I loved Eric and Cameron and I wanted to be here for their engagement announcement.
When I walked in the front door the music got ten times louder. People filled the dance floor and the bar talking and laughing happily. I spotted Cameron and Eric in the corner near the bar talking to Jeremy and a blonde girl who was hanging on his shoulder. I walked over hugging Cameron and punching Eric in the arm. He smacked mine back rolling his eyes.
"We will be announcing it at around 8:30pm" Eric said quietly, I nodded smiling. I turned hugging Jeremy and smiling at the blonde.
"Alexis this is Megan my girlfriend." Jeremy said stepping back a little so I could shake her hand. She smiled nodding her head a little. I talked to them for a while learning a little more about Megan. She was from Tennessee and she had a cute little southern accent. After a while I excused myself from the conversation starting to feel claustrophobic.
I moved to the corner of the room trying to get some space. I watched the sun set out the window enjoying the beautiful colors. A guy walked up to me tossing me a beer. I nearly dropped it looking up surprised.
"Oh uh, no thanks" I said holding the beer out for him to take it. He didn't move for a minute, his blue eyes fixed on my face. I looked away awkwardly trying to give him the hint I wanted to be alone. After a minute he spoke, "I'm Nick." he said still watching me.
"Um, I'm Alexis." I said giving him a small smile. He nodded smiling, then he turned and walked away. That was the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me...
The dj turned the music down low and Cameron attempted to tap a metal mixing stick on the side of a glass, but the glass slipped out of her hand and shattered on the floor. She looked up a little embarrassed, "Oops haha." She said walking away to get a broom. Eric stepped up smiling, as Cameron returned tossing the broom on the ground and looking up with a smile.
"So, there is something we would like to share with you guys!" Eric said glancing at Cameron. She smiled at him and he gave her a little nod.
"We are engaged!" She said happily. Everyone started talking and clapping, they all seemed pretty happy about it for the most part.
"So there are a few things we would like to say." Eric said. I shook my head rolling my eyes, he always had more to explain, even in the simplest situations.
I moved away from the crowd deciding now was a good time to get a drink since no one was at the bar. As I turned I happened to catch the light reflecting off the door as someone opened it. I glanced over to see who had come to join the party and I froze. It's couldn't be real. My heartbeat picked up and I was at a loss of breath.
Kian walked in, followed by Sam, Jc, Rickey, Trevor, and Connor. Seeing him only made my feelings for him intensify even more. He turned a little laughing at something Jc had said. They walked over to the side of the door listening to Eric talk, but I couldn't hear a thing except his laughter. Finally I pulled my eyes away quickly walking to the bar and getting a drink. After getting my drink I ran back to my corner hoping to hide. I watched him quietly, wishing I could walk over and hug him close but I knew it was over between us. I noticed he was scanning the crowd and before I could turn away our eyes met. He froze watching me from a distance, a very small smile curling the corners of his lips. I didn't look away, I couldn't move, or breathe, or think, I was just, there.
"Hey Lex can you help me clean up the glassss.... Ohhh." Cameron said from the other corner of the room. I finally turned my head to look at Cameron who was standing speechless looking from me, to Kian, and back to me again. I suddenly became very uncomfortable, I turned and ran out the door not knowing what else to do. The cool evening air chilled my arms and the smell of the lake filled all of my senses. I walked down to the water just standing and watching the moon rise. The music still pounded throughout the walls of the building so I started walking, hoping to get some peace and quiet. I suddenly noticed Nick running up to me.
"Hi Alexis." He said smiling, his sandy blonde hair looked wet and I wondered if he had been swimming.
"Hi." I said turning to walk away. He followed me in silence. I glanced back at him frowning, he smiled in return reaching out and holding my hand. I pulled away confused. He stopped smiling, "Why don't you want to hold my hand? Am I not good enough for you?" He asked pouting. I looked at him confused, what was wrong with this guy. I turned trying to walk away but he grabbed my wrist tightly.
"Ow!" I yelled trying to pull away. "What the hell! Back off creep!" I yelled.
He frowned tightening his grip on my wrist sending chills of pain up my arm.
"Ow! Let go!" I yelled finally breaking his grip. He stepped closer to me and I pushed him away. "Leave me alone, you're crazy!" I said taking a step back. His face went blank he just stared at me.
"I'm. Not. Crazy!" He yelled moving his hand he smacked me sending me into shock.
"Hey!" A voice yelled. We both turned to see Kian running over towards us. "Don't you fucking touch her!" Kian yelled, anger blazing in his eyes. He slowed down walking right up and punching Nick as hard as he could. Nick stumbled backwards his hand coming up to his face. He recovered lunging at Kian but Nick was bigger and slower, Kian was tall and thin and he dodged quickly shoving Nick into the water. Nick sat up shocked.
Kian walked standing in front of me protectively. "If your not an idiot you will never even think about coming near her again." Kian said pulling me back to the building.
We stopped in the light and he turned getting closer to me. He lightly touched my cheek where it was now swollen. He regarded my sadly. "Are you okay?" He asked quietly. I nodded not looking away from his eyes. He nodded looking at his feet.
"Lexy this last month I have had a lot of time to think." He started thinking carefully as he talked. "I know... I know I can never take back what happened and I will regret it for the rest of my life. But I can't take it back. No matter how much I wish I could." He shook his head running his hands through his hair. "Lexy I..." he stopped, looking up at me, "Lexy I love you." He said quietly making my heart skip a beat. "And I know you don't feel the same but I just wanted you to kno..." I pulled down kissing him. He took a breath pulling me even closer. This kiss was perfect, I could feel happiness rushing through my body knowing that with his lips on mine, I felt complete.
"Kian Lawley I love you too." I whispered kissing him again.
