"Hey we are almost at your house." Kian said over the phone. I rushed around my room looking for my band T-shirt. I had been looking for a good excuse to wear it and the Demi Lovato concert was the perfect reason. Finally I found it in the laundry. I put it on and grabbed a piece of toast, I had been waiting for this all day.
I heard a horn honk in the driveway so I put my shoes on and ran out the door to the boys. Kian was in the drivers seat and the passenger seat was empty for me, Jc and Sam were in the back seat rocking out to whatever was playing into the earbuds they were wearing, and Conner, Rickey, and Trevor were in the car behind them. I jumped in the passenger seat giving Kian a kiss and buckling up.
"Are you excited?" Kian asked smiling. I nodded happily resting my feet on the dashboard and turning on the radio. August was ending now in four days it would be September, and then the boys would have to go home to California and I would be stuck alone again. I didn't want to get upset over it but Kian was my life, I loved him so much and somehow I thought we would be together forever. I didn't want to think of it as a summer fling but I guess that's exactly what it was.
I glanced over at him memorizing the details of his face. I shifted turning to I was resting my head on him instead.
I could her Jc and Sam whispering behind me but I ignored them. Kian took one hand off the steering wheel placing it on mine. I tangled my fingers in his smiling.
"I love you." I whispered. He squeezed my hand gently.
"I love you too." He said.

We walked into the building giving the guy our tickets and taking our passes. Conner had a VIP pass so he could interview Demi for the book he was writing. He was hiding the book from everyone except us because he wanted to surprise his fans when it was complete.
We opened the doors leading into the main seating which wasn't actually seating because there were no seats for the first six rows. People crowded in trying to get as close as they could to the stage.
The normal lights dimmed, colored lights taking their place, casting patterns and words on the walls and ceiling. Demi walked out on stage waving at everyone as the crowd screamed. She began by talking for a few minutes about how much of an honer it was to be here quieting everyone. Finally the music started and people began to jump around and sing along to the songs. I knew the songs but I didn't sing them, I just started jumping so I wouldn't be the only one standing still.
Rickey, Trevor, and Connor were all rocking out and singing at the top of their lungs. Jc, Sam, and Kian stood back a row talking about something. I thought about wandering into the conversation but I decided to enjoy the fact that Demi Lovato was less than three feet away from me.
Kian finally came over hugging me around my waist. We moved back and forth to music, me singing as loud as I could and him laughing at me the whole time. This was the perfect way to wrap up the summer. The more we jumped around the hotter it got and soon enough we were all sweating.
I took my phone out making a little vine of her.
"Hey take another one." Kian yelled over the music. I flipped the camera around recording the two of us. He leaned down kissing me. The six seconds ran out but we kept kissing for a little while longer before he slowly pulled away.
"Post that on your Vine." He said smirking. I rolled my eyes but I posted it because it made me smile.
The song changed, slowing down the pace. I turned wrapping my arms around Kian's neck and resting my head on his chest. He hugged me closer swaying to the music. Neither of us said anything, we just closed our eyes and held each other with no intention of ever letting go. I looked up at him stroking his cheek. He shifted his head kissing the palm of my hand. I traced my hand down to his neck pulling him down and kissing him.
"If I knew you guys were gonna make out the whole time I would have suggested you stayed home." Sam said inching his way in between us and hip checking Kian backwards.
I rolled my eyes at Sam gently pushing him out of the way. "Get a girlfriend and maybe you'll understand." I said laughing.
"Ooooh that was cold." Jc said laughing, he grabbed Sam and pulled him away from is winking as he did. I laughed a little, shaking my head.
After about a half an hour of music Demi announced it was the end of the night and she said goodbye thanking everyone for coming. Conner dismissed himself running to meet up with Demi.
The rest of us got our stuff and walked outside. The night breeze was cool and sweet. After talking about it we decided to walk around town and look for a frozen yogurt place. We ended up walking a few blocks before we successfully found a place that wasn't closed. We went inside buying our frozen yogurt and sat outside talking and enjoying the night. Between eating cold yogurt and cool breeze I started to get cold. Kian cuddled close to me promising if he had a sweatshirt he would have given it to me.
"I'll be fine." I said snuggling closer to him. He nodded finishing his yogurt, he always ate fast.
"Ugh I'm going to miss Michigan." Sam said closing his eyes.
"Ya it's the perfect temperature." Rickey said standing up to throw his empty yogurt container away.
"You say that now but you haven't seen the winters here." I said cringing. They all laughed a little.
Kian stood up throwing his yogurt container away and turning to me.
"Hey Lex let's go on a walk," he said looking around, "Just the two of us." He added.
I looked around at the guys who avoided eye contact, they knew what was happening. I frowned, what was happening? Was he going to break up with me after everything that has just happened? I know he is leaving but we can do long distance if we really tried. I shook the negative thoughts from my mind. He probably just wanted to have a little time alone, but still a couldn't help but worry.
"Sure." I said nervously. I stood up and he took my hand while we began to walk. After turning the corner of the block he cleared his throat.
"Summers coming to an end soon. Like sooner than I want it to, and that means, I have to go back to Cali with the guys." He said quietly. My heart sunk, I knew where this was going.
"We could try long distance but we both know that never works." He said releasing my hand he turned leaning up against the side of a building. I walked over closer to him wanting a chance to speak.
"But we could try." I said hopefully. He shook his head.
"I don't think so Lex." He said. He pushed himself off the wall walking up and taking my hand again.
"Lexy I think it would be best if.." He stopped taking a breath, "If you packed your stuff. I want you to come back to California with me." He said looking up with a smile. My heart skipped a beat. I smiled trying to get ahold of myself, by now I was shaking like crazy. I pushed him back a little letting out a relieved smile. "Idiot. You scared the shit out of me!" I said laughing.
He gave me a guilty smile shrugging his shoulders. "Soooo is that a yes?" He said hopefully.
"Yes! Of course!" I said hugging him. He pulled away a little leaning down to kiss me. I dodged the kiss moving so I kissed him on the cheek. "You're still an idiot." I said rolling my eyes and kissing his lips.
A huge smile spread across his face and he picked me up spinning me around. I bent down kissing him again and wrapping my legs around his waist.
"I love you so damn much." He said.
"I love you so much more." I said challenging him.
"Impossible." He whispered kissing me again.
He set me down taking my hand and we walked back to the table smiling.
"I'm guessing by the smiles she said yes." Connor said, who had now joined the boys at the table.
"I hate you all." I informed them, but I couldn't hide the smile on my face. Things just started looking a little brighter.
"Your gonna love California!" Trevor said going into all the details about the beaches and the weather, etc. I snuggled into Kian's arms listening to Trevor talking while looking up at the clear night sky. The stars covered the sky like sparkles and I thought back to the first party where I talked to Kian.
*
"Do you have stars like this in California?" I ask not taking my eyes off the sky.
"Technically they are the same stars" he says "but no, with all the lights around us it's hard to see the stars the way you can here."
I finally look away from the sky and over the lake. I love summer.

I smiled at the memory, look how far we have made it now. Today in this moment I realized that out of everyone in the world he made me the happiest and I could definitely spend the rest of my life with him, no matter what happened in the future or the past.
