Chapter Fifteen: Birthday Wishes

Sam, Rickey, Connor, Trevor, Jc, and I sat in the living room at 8:00am whispering quietly. Kian always slept until at least 11:00am so we knew we were safe to discus his surprise party freely.
"So everyone is clear on what's happening right?" Rickey asked being the planner he is.
"Yep, we are all going to "forget" his birthday as we rush around packing." I started.
"Then we all split up and meet at the beach house to start setting up for the party." Connor said.
"Except for me," I added "I stay and spend his birthday with him because I am an amazing girlfriend." I said half sarcastically.
Sam rolled him eyes standing up and walking to the kitchen.
"I'm gonna go get some party stuff to take over to the beach house, I'll probably be gone all day" He added.
Everyone stood up going back to their previous tasks.
I ran back upstairs to Kian's bedroom snuggling into bed next to him, being careful not to wake him. He stirred turning over to face me, still asleep. I took a breath snuggling into his arms and falling back asleep.

"Wake up baby." Kian whispered in my ear, kissing my neck. I stirred turning around to face him.
"Happy Birthday." I said kissing him. He smiled hugging me into his chest.
"I wanna stay like this all day." He said happily. I kissed his jawline.
"Let's go get some breakfast." I suggested tickling his stomach. He spasmed grabbing my hands and kissing my fingers. He turned rolling off the bed and walked to into the hallway yawning.
I smiled shaking my head. I felt so happy here with him. I got up walking downstairs. Just as planned the guys were running everywhere packing everything up.
"You guys are busy." I said casually.
"Ya there's a lot to get done in one week." Trevor said playing along.
"Do you have to do that today?" Kian asked looking around at all the boxes, "I was hoping we could go out later for drinks or something."
Jc and Connor stopped but the other guys kept rushing around. "We don't really have time to party Kian we are leaving in a week." Connor said picking up a box and handing it to Kian.
"Ya you should probably start packing up your room," Rickey said from the kitchen, "You have a lot of crap." He added laughing.
Kian glanced at me. He seemed slightly confused but he took a breath closing his eyes and when he opened them his normal happy face returned and he carried the box up to his room closing the door behind him.
Jc winked at me and I smiled giving him a thumbs up.
I grabbed a few bowls of cereal and walked up to Kian's room knocking lightly in the door before entering. Kian was laying in bed on his phone.
"What are you looking at?" I asked sitting next to him and handing him the cereal. He smiled at me as a thanks for the food and handed me his phone. Messages from Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and Vine lit up his screen, one coming in after another wishing him happy birthday.
"Wow." I said.
"My fans didn't forget my birthday." He said looking slightly unhappy.
I looked at him sadly. Hopefully the party made up for his disappointment.
"I'm sure they didn't forget," I said trying not to give anything away, "You were only downstairs for about a minute anyways." I reassured him. He sighed taking a bite of his cereal. I rested my head on his shoulder opening his phone and reading some of the posts that were coming in. I scrolled down finding a picture of Kian when he was little. He looked so adorable! The caption said:

Look at little fetus Kian!! Happy Birthday Kian I love you soooooo much!!!!!

I laughed showing the picture to Kian. He cringed laughing.
"Fans can find anything if they really want to." He said scratching the back of his head. I rolled my eyes saving the photo so I could send it to myself.
We stayed upstairs for a while, Kian started boxing things but after the third picture frame he got bored and started throwing things at me.
"Okay okay that's enough!" I said laughing. I caught the sock he whipped at my head tossing it back at him.
He got up sitting down next to me.
"Ready to actually do something?" I asked nudging him. He nodded getting up to change. He changed into a pair of burgundy skinny jeans and a white T-shirt with a floral pocket. I changed into a yellow and white lace T-shirt and white shorts. We ended up being ready to go at about the same time which was a new talent we had found. We both ran downstairs into the kitchen looking for something to eat. Sam, Jc, and Trevor were gone and Rickey and Connor sat in the kitchen talking. When we walked in they looked up smiling.
"Where are you two off to?" Connor asked.
"We are probably gonna go long boarding around downtown Brighton." I answered grabbing an apple.
"Cool." Conner answered turning back to Rickey. As we turned to walk out the door Rickey called after us.
"Oh hey by the way, do you think you can stop by the beach house later? We could really use both of you guys with moving things into temporary storage."
I looked at Kian shrugging my shoulders like I didn't really care either way. Kian sighed looking from me to the guys, "Sure." He said. You could tell he didn't want to help but he said yes anyway. I smiled taking his hand.
"Come on, let's go." I said pulling over to the door. We walked outside grabbing the long boards and riding out onto the sidewalk.
"They forgot." He yelled over the rushing wind. I didn't say anything I just gave him a small understanding glance.
We road downtown up to the ice cream shop getting ice cream and ride slowly along the sidewalks. After a few minutes my ice cream started to melt so I threw it away and we sat down on a bench to rest. By now it was later afternoon and the people had all gone home to eat dinner. We enjoyed the peace and quiet just sitting on the bench for a while before Kian got up.
"Come on I have an idea." Kian said pulling me up. We road down to the beach a few miles away from the beach house. Kian pulled out his phone opening the camera. "Now I'm not a professional so these will probably look shitty but let's have a photo shoot!" I smiled running over.
"Okay how should I pose?" I asked putting a hand on my hip and one behind my head throwing the most typical pose ever. He laughed motioning down to the water. I ran down to the water standing about ankle deep and trying to think of a pose. After a few minutes of bad poses I figured it was best if I just took pictures.
"Hey how about we switch." I said walking up to where Kian was. He shrugged handing me the phone and running down to where I had been.
"Come down here with me." He said motioning for me to follow. I ran down next to him and he took the phone again holding it up he pulled me into his chest smiling at the camera. After a few silly poses he pulled me down and kissed me while talking another picture.
"There, now we can go help with boxes." He said smiling.
"Hey, maybe after we can still all go for drinks." I said playing along. I was glad he hadn't figured it out yet.
We got back on our boards making our way down to the beach house. I sent a quick text to Sam telling them to be ready so when we got there the only cars we saw were the guys cars. He jumped off his board turning and picking me up off of mine. I squealed closing my eyes. He laughed at me taking my hand, we walked inside.
"SURPRISE!" Everyone yelled. The lights turned on and the music started. Kian stood there for a second shocked before turning and lightly punching my arm.
"You and the guys plan this?" He asked smiling.
"No, it was totally all me." Rickey said walking up and handing Kian a present. Kian shook his head looking around. His cheeks were red from happiness and he almost looked like he was gonna explode with joy. I smiled pulling him over to me and kissing him. We stood there for a few seconds before slowly pulling away.
"Happy Birthday baby, I love you so much." I said pulling away from him and heading over to get something to drink.
The beach house looked amazing, the guys had really pulled it off. As I was getting a drink I noticed Sam in the corner sitting alone. I grabbed an extra soda and walked over to him handing him the can.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
He looked up at me smiling a little.
"I'm gonna miss this place," he said looking around, "It's prefect here. Then I have to go back to Cali and everything goes back to the way it used to be."
I frowned, what was so bad about California?
"Back in California, I have a girlfriend." He said putting his head in his hands.
"And last week I learned something about her that changes everything." He said looking out the window. I watched him, I wanted to ask what it was but I didn't want to bother him about it. After a few minutes I got to curious and decided to ask. "What did you learn?" I asked cautiously. He looked at me sadly, "She um, since I have been gone she has lost control and now, she's addicted to drugs." He said rubbing his eyes.
I hugged him feeling bad for asking.
"But never mind that," he said shaking his head "This is Kian's party."
I nodded looking around. Kian was still near the door talking to his friend JJ. JJ is a photographer and he films most of the crazy videos when they can't set up the camera on their own. I smiled at Sam turning and walking over to Kian.
"Hi JJ." I said hugging him. I walked over to Kian wrapping my hands around his waist. JJ looked at us smiling.
"I'll leave you two alone." He said winking. I hugged Kian tighter making a face.
JJ walked away leaving us alone near the door.
"This place has some memories." Kian said running his hands through my hair.
The rest of the night was spent laughing and talking and dancing until our feet hurt and when all the people left we kept dancing and enjoying the night even if it was just the eight of us.
"Are we actually gonna go get food?" JJ asked sitting on top of the table.
"Ya I'm starvinggggg." Rickey said rolling off of the chair onto the floor.
"Okay. Let's go!" Kian said standing up and running to the door. We all followed him out to the cars. Jc grabbed our boards and threw them in the back of his car. Kian got in the drivers seat and I got into the passenger seat. Everyone else piled into the three cars talking and yelling. They were all to energetic. We drove onto the main road, talking to each other by text.
"Ask JJ if they wanna go to this restaurant." Kian said. I sent JJ a quick text and he asked the other car. We finally agreed on Olive Garden.
We went inside and got a table and some food. After we ate Rickey told the waiter to bring out cake and we all sang happy birthday to Kian. Then being as exhausted as we were we went home to get some sleep since it was 2:30am when I finally went to bed, falling asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
