Chapter Twenty Two: Anniversary

I woke up to Kian's lips pressed against mine. I stirred opening one eye and then the other. Kian stood before me holding a tray with food on it and a little flower to make it colorful, "Good morning, well afternoon actually." He said looking at the clock.
"Awe Kian, happy first anniversary in California." I said. He set the tray down on my lap kissing me again. I moved over and he sat down next to me in bed pulling the covers over his legs. On our last anniversary we said we would make a big deal out of this one since it was our first anniversary in California so it was extra special.
"I have a special plan for the day." Kian beamed.
"And I know it's going to be perfect." I said smiling, he had been working on this surprise for a week. Ever since the guy broke into our house a week ago I have been paranoid. I keep feeling like someone is watching me though windows or following me on the street but I know no one is there. Kian has barley left my side and the other guys have walked around the house boarder a few times just to calm my suspicion, but today I didn't want it to be like that.
Kian wouldn't tell me what he had planned but apparently it was gonna be good.
"After your done eating get dressed and meet me downstairs." Kian said kissing my cheek and jumping out of bed. I smiled, he was the sweetest.
I ate breakfast quickly and changed into a peach colored sundress with a floral lace pattern on it.
I jumped downstairs skipping steps as I went. Kian was sitting on the counter with slightly messy hair in a tux with no tie and his shirt was unbuttoned a little, giving his outfit a very sexy casual look.
"Ready?" He asked hopping down from the counter and over to me. I nodded biting my lip a little, he walked up to me hooking his arm around my waist and pulling me into a kiss. After a minute I pulled away and we walked to the car.
As soon as we sat down he handed me a blindfold, I gave him a strange look raising my eyebrows.
"It's builds the suspense." He said as I took the blindfold. I wrapped it around my head and he tied it gently. I felt the car start and we pulled out of the driveway. I tried to focus on which ways we were turning but I quickly got confused. After driving for about what felt like fifteen minutes the car stopped.
For a second everything was still and then a felt his fingers run though my hair. The blindfold fell away and I looked around, we were at what looked like a beach but I couldn't see the water. Kian got out of the car and I followed, we walked over to the beach area and I noticed there was a ledge. Kian walked up to it looking down and smiling, he motioned for me to join. I walked cautiously behind him to look down over the ledge. Below us was the ocean, and there was about five feet of beach before it hit the water.
"Come on." Kian said running around to the side of the ledge and descending. I was nervous but I followed being cautious not to slip and break my legs.
When we got down to the beach Kian jogged over to a little cave-like entrance that formed the ledge and added another five or six feet to the beach. Inside the cave area there was a picnic blanket set up with a cooler on it full of drinks.
Kian sat down patting the blanket next to him. I walked under the ledge taking shelter from the wind.
We sat and enjoyed a drink for a few minutes before the wind started to blow harder making the waves splash up near our blanket.
"Is it supposed to rain today?" I asked.
Kian looked up at the sky frowning "No I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be nice today." He said pulling his phone out to check the weather. "I don't have a signal down here." He said after a minute putting his phone back in his pocket and shrugging.
Suddenly the wind stopped, we both frowned looking at each other.
We finished our drinks and went back up to the car putting the blanket and other things in the car.
"Let's go for a swim." Kian said with his head in the trunk. I looked down at my dress and then over at the road.
"I'm not stripping next to a road." I said laughing a little.
"Good thing I brought bathing suits. Kian said pulling a bag with bathing suits and towels in it.
He pulled out a bathing suit handing it to me, I frowned holding the black and white pok-a-dot bathing suit in my hands.
"Um Kian. This isn't mine." I said holding the bathing suit out for him to take it.
He pushed it back towards me, "It is now, I bought it for you." He said smiling. I held the bathing suit out returning a smile and hugging him.
"Thank you, it's so cute!" I said.
We changed in the little cave area and took a swim in the quiet lake. There was still no breeze and it was a little grey so swimming got cold very fast so we jumped out and dried off before changing back into our clothes.
As we walked back up to the car be breeze began to pick up again. Suddenly it started to sprinkle, and then the rain poured down making us both shriek. We ran to the car jumping inside.
Kian groaned looking out the car window, "Well that ruins the rest of the day plans." He said rubbing his hands on the steering wheel.
"Today wasn't ruined, I think it's perfect." I said running my fingers through the back of his hair. He shook his head exhaling, I could tell he was still upset. I placed my hand under his chin turning his head so he was facing me. I kissed him lightly, "Let's go home, we can watch a movie instead." I said.
He nodded turning the engine on.

We cuddle on the couch watching the rain fall as the Tv played in the background. Besides the Tv the house was silent, the guys had left for the day promising us time alone.
Kian stood up walking upstairs into his room, I frowned leaning over the couch to see what he was doing. He came back down with his phone. He plugged it into the AUX plug swaying to the music that came out of the speakers. He walked over to me reaching his hands out and pulling me off the couch, he spun me around and pulled me into his arms resting his hands on my waist. I smiled wrapping my arms around his neck swaying to the slow beat.
"I'm sorry today was an epic fail." Kian said as we moved. I rested my head on his chest hugging him close to me.
"Today has been amazing, it's nice just to be here with you." I answered.
"But it didn't go the way I wanted it to." He said.
I looked up kissing his jawline and down his neck. He took a breath in response making me grin.
"Still sad?" I asked.
"If I say yes what would you do." Kian asked smirking. I laughed a little pulling his head down and kissing him. He put one hand on the side of my face pulling me closer to him. I took a breath tangling my fingers in the hair on the back of his head pulling gently.
He picked me up moving over to the couch and sitting down so I was straddling him. I placed one hand on his chest and one behind his neck kissing him slightly more intensely. He placed both hands on my neck cupping the side of my face and pulling me into his chest.
Suddenly the lights flickered and went out and what sounded like an electric surge shuttered through the house. I moved off of his lap shrieking, the house was dark since the sun was setting. I put both hands on my head looking around.
"Shit." I said laughing and sitting back down. The house was silent since everything had shut off. Kian walked over getting his phone and sitting back down.
"Are you hungry?" He asked checking the time which read 7:33pm.
"Ya," I said kissing him "Pizza and then, dessert?" I asked winking a little.
He smiled kissing me and lowering my down into a laying position on the couch, "Sounds perfect." He whispered kissing my neck. I closed my eyes smiling, overwhelmed with happiness. He kissed my lips again and I felt his weight lift off of me, a few seconds later I heard something hit the kitchen table.
"Oooowwww fuuuuccckkkk!" Kian yelled making me collapse on the floor laughing.
He made the phone call and ordered pizza, kissing me on the forehead he ran out to the car through the rain and drove to the pizza place.
The house was quiet, I ran upstairs to the storage closet rummaging through it for candles. After a few minutes I successfully found them running back downstairs to the dinner table.
I smiled looking over the table, I set up candles on the table, around on the shelfs and counter. I wiped my hands off on my pants raising my eyebrows, I hadn't noticed how hot it had gotten in my room since the power went off.
I opened the sliding glass door a little but closing the screen door so no bugs would come in. I stopped for a second getting chills, I looked around me, the feeling of being watched was back.
I looked around the empty silent living room feeling a pit of worry and a little fear fill me. I took a breath shaking my head, I walked back to the kitchen getting two dishes that weren't chipped or scratched placing them on the table. I walked back into the kitchen looking around the counter for napkins, I frowned not finding any. I walked into the pitch dark laundry room opening a cabinet and reaching inside, my fingertips hit the napkins making me smile in victory of finding them in the dark. I grabbed the napkins closing the cabinet I turned and stopped just as my heart did. Fear flooded my whole body and I dropped the napkins looking at the masked stranger in front of me.
"Kian?" I whispered quietly, to frozen with fear to do anything else. The man walked towards me and I backed up into the washing machine. He grabbed my hair slamming my head into the washer, pain exploded into my head making me cry out and fall to the floor. He grabbed my arms pulling me back through the house. I grabbed at things as I passed the kitchen and the living room panic setting in as I began to cry. I grabbed at the table cloth pulling it slightly, a glass and a plate fell off the table crashing on the floor.
He pulled me through the now completely open door into the pouring rain shoving me to the ground causing me to hit my head again. I tried to cry out but I couldn't find my voice, I looked up at the stranger in the dark through the rain which blurred my vision. He pulled a cloth out of his pocket sitting on my legs he placed it harshly on my mouth making it hard to breath. I struggled and cried until the world slowly went dark...
