[ Y/N'S POV ]

Gleefully following the path and leaving the sign behind, I bounced ahead of Sans, filled with determination at the comforting and welcoming atmosphere the town gave me.

Hearing a chuckle from next to me, Sans had appeared and was giving me a playful smile. Rolling my eyes, I asked, "What now?". "Heh, nothin', I'm just confused as to why you're so excited," the boy replied. "Look, it's not everyday I take a fall down a hole which probably should've killed me and meet a bunch of really cool and nice monsters, okay??" I state as if it was obvious, crossing my arms and stopping in the road. "Heh, okay, I guess that makes sanse." Sans shrugged with a cheeky glance.

A pained expression came across my face and I silently turned my head back towards the shops. "You owe me a Nice Cream or something for that one," I told Sans, with a dead serious face. His smile seemed to grow wider at this and I noticed how his eyes cutely squinted in joy. "Oh, really? Does that mean you have a bone to pick with me at the moment-" Sans tried to laugh out before I turned and slapped a hand over his mouth to stop him. "Please, just show me around."

Sans' large, bony hand found its way to the soft one over his mouth and tugged it away from his face and back to his side. "Okay, sorry, I won't tell anymore kneet jokes. Lemme show you around, pipsqueak," Sans laughed out with a slightly apologetic smile. I almost commented on his dumb pun, before deciding against it.

shit, wait, is he gonna hold my hand from now oN—

He started walking forwards again so I was dragged along, hand in hand. Sans and I finally approached the first shop. The outside was lit by the warm light coming through the windows. The soft glow illuminated a sign above the door that read: SHOP.  Sans let go of my hand to open the door and then promptly stuffed his hand into his shorts.

oh, well, fine then—

The bell above the door gave a cute little ring alerting the shopkeeper we entered. I took a moment to glance around the room. It seemed to be filled with lots of clutter and homey decor, like books, mirrors, and jars. After hearing some shuffling behind the counter, a kind, furry face appeared before Sans and I. She seemed to be some sort of bunny monster and was wearing a straw hat, with holes for her ears, and a simple tank top. Her arms were crossed but her face reflected a warm smile, as she said, "Hello, traveller and Sans. How can I help y'all?".

I decided to look at what she had to offer, while Sans lazily leaned up against the wall near the door. It didn't appear much at first, but I eventually found a manly looking bandana that was conveniently F/C. Having around 150 gold and seeing as the bandana was only 50 gold and provided some decent defense, I purchased the accessory.

welp, YOLO, I guess. . .

"Thanks for your purchase!" the bunny happily chirped. Observing a bit more, I found a dessert that seemed to be a family recipe. Seeing it labeled cinnamon "bun" earned an almost inaudible giggle out of me. Sans, of course, somehow heard it and leaned over to see what I'd found.

"Whatcha' got there, pipsqueak?" he asked, pushing off the wall and coming over to the shelf I was looking at. "Ohhh, those are good, she makes 'em herself," he stated, motioning his head towards the shopkeeper. "Then I guess I'll get one!" I smiled at him. Grabbing the neatly packaged sweet, I approached the counter. However, before I could take out my gold, Sans placed 25 gold on the counter and then practically shoved the dessert into the palms of my hand.

The shopkeeper gave a small thanks but I wasn't paying much attention to her. Turning to the skeleton, I started "Hey, wha-" "Ya said I owed you for that joke didn't ya? Well there you go," Sans sighed, bashfully looking away to the side, with a hand rubbing the back of his neck. "I mean I was just kidding. . but thanks," I muttered embarrassed.
