The salty air surrounding the docks brushed past Rapunzel's face as she looked around. It was busy as usual surrounded by fishermen, guards, and sailors but only one face caught her eye; that person had hair which she could recognize anywhere.
"VARIAN?!" she yelled running over to hug the 16-year-old boy. "Rapunzel?!" exclaimed Varian surprised by the sudden hug. "You've grown!" she replied shocked, looking at the boy who was now taller than her. "Well did hit the growth spurt!" he laughed. "Now I can't even cuddle you anymore! You are the size of Eugene now, guess you have to hug me like that too" she whined remembering how small and cute he used to be.
"By the way, what are you doing here? How was your trip to the Dark Kingdom?" asked Rapunzel, squeezing the boy again. Currently, Varian and his father had traveled to the dark kingdom to help out with the redoing of the kingdom and now it had been almost a year since Rapunzel had seen the little alchemist.
"Well we've got the castle cleaned out and the front lawns, also a few of the previous citizens came back to live there" He replied. "I came back a few days ago to sort things out for dad and me, dad will be coming next week" he continued picking up a few boxes that had his name printed. "What are those?" asked Rapunzel. "Equipment for the house" replied Varian. "Ohh, where's Ruddiger?" asked Rapunzel remembering the mischievous little raccoon, Varian carried around.
As though he heard his name Ruddiger suddenly jumped on Rapunzel's shoulder. "Aww, how are you buddy?" asked Rapunzel scratching the creature's belly. "You haven't a changed bit have you? have you?" she asked as Ruddiger barked back. "He been very naughty and lazy he's become very chubby also," said Varian disgusted.
"Varian are you sure you don't need help?" asked Rapunzel asked Varian as he picked up one of the boxes and headed towards the cart ready for him. "Nah, I've got everything under control" he yelled back at her. Suddenly Ruddiger jumped and ran in between Varian's feet.
"Oh Varian, Look out!?" yelled Rapunzel. "Wha-" yelled Varian as he fell and the box opened as strawberries fell out. "Silly raccoon, these were for you only" scolded Varian. But Rapunzel just stared shocked.
