One week.
It's been exactly one week since she last saw Hanma. He never come to check up on the updates which he should be doing. His subordinates even made all the decision, no need for their chairman's approval or opinion. It's like he was letting his workers to do whatever they want as if he doesn't care about the project that he contributed.
The project will take about half a year to finish since the location was on top of the hill, far from the city with a deep serene of the nature. It was perfect for a family to live in or maybe a wedding even. In other words, the villa was made for people whom seeking for privacy, peace. An escape from the outside world.
It was a great idea, would be better if the managers from Sky Co. was a lot nicer. Y/n buried her face in the screen for hours, skipping her lunch making Hikari brought food on her table. Of course, Y/n set it aside and let it cold, receiving a scold every time.
"Y/n, you should at least take a break and eat. You're gonna die from the stress." Hikari complained while placing a cup of coffee on Y/n's table, the third cup for the day.
Y/n took her eyes from the screen for a second. "And I told you not to bring me any, not going to eat it no matter what you bought for me." She sipped the coffee before grimaced from the taste.
"Did you put any sugar in this?" Y/n asked.
"Uh.. maybe?" Hikari answered, more like a question. "I don't know. I followed my guts." She shrugged.
"What's the brew ratio you used?" Y/n set the coffee down. It was hot and bitter, something Kei would enjoy.
"There's a ratio?" Hikari questioned innocently.
Y/n let out an exasperated sigh. "Yes, Hika." She called her by the nickname. "I like my ratio one to two, that is coffee and water. Then you add a little of sweetener with milk. I think we had this conversation before, don't you agree?"
Hikari tilted her head. "Hm.. I don't think so." She clapped her hands together loudly. "Anyways.."
"When will you go out with me?" She rested her elbows on Y/n's desk and cupped her chin in her hands.
A few heads turned their way in confusion but soon looked away once they met eyes with Y/n. "Don't say it like that. People might have the wrong idea." She shook her head and continued her work.
The young woman just pouted after being rejected. "Well, you never agree to go out with everyone either. You always say no if we invited you for a drink." She twirled her black hair, looking side ways at Y/n.
"I have my reasons." Y/n said without looking at her.
Hikari batted her eyelashes. "Can't you tell me?"
"Nope."
Hikari clicked her tongue and straightened up. "I don't care. I will always invite you even knowing you will refuse to go."
"Should I say thanks to that?"
Hikari ignored her retort. "Do you have plans tonight?"
The sound of her fingers hitting the keyboard stopped. Y/n leaned back in her chair and looked up, lost in her thoughts. There was something she forgot, that must've been the cause of her discomfort for the past days. Her fingers were tapping rapidly on the table, trying to figure it out but nothing came to mind. That was until her phone started ringing, startled the both of them.
