Guilt got the best of her when she exited the bathroom hurriedly to look for him. She ran as fast as she could while pushing through the crowd in the hallway.
It felt like the whole universe was crashing down on her and accusing her for everything that happened. She wanted to know the truth. No, she needed to know why she's not blaming him for the things he caused. And why this unpleasant feeling that linger in her stomach was telling her it was all her fault.
The bell rang a long time ago but no sign of him anywhere. She thought of all the places they've always been together. Not in the classroom, not in the library, not in the cafeteria nor the infirmary which left her with one more place. The rooftop.
For the first time, the stairs seemed so long and tiring. The lack of oxygen at the staircase left her panting for air. Her legs were trembling hard as she reached the last step. She twisted the doorknob and the bright sunlight blinded her but she couldn't careless about it.
Her eyes were moving frantically until it landed on him, who laid comfortably with hands behind his head, legs crossed.
The hot rays of the sun beat down vertically as a gust of wind flung at her, blowing her hair to the wave. He didn't open his eyes even when she was standing over him, blocking him from the sun.
"Did you do it?" She asked softly, not sure if he heard her because she can't even hear herself. If there's a chance, even the slightest that this was all a lie, she'd grasp it. Just say this was a prank and she will move on from it.
She wanted to stay like this, in this bliss state, free from any worries or fear. She can't open up at home. Her parents taught her not to show any emotions as it was for the weak, beat her until she learned to stop crying. Going to school with the constant bullying lead her to suicidal thoughts at the age of seven.
Two years of bullying ended and she was alone, leaving her with her mind to heal herself. Kei was like a knight in shining armour. So it was hard for her,
"Yes."
..when she found out the truth.

"Y/n!" A sudden yell woke her up from her pensive state. She glared to the right and found her assistant beside her.
"Are you daydreaming again?" Hikari sighed rather too loudly.
"You know you can't do that again. We finally got that two million project and everyone is preparing to celebrate including us." She complained while her hands were busy assembling the sliced apple to the shape of rose.
