It won't leave her mind. Even when she was showering, driving, or eating her lunch at work. His words were like a broken cassette in her mind, no matter how long it kept on going, the truth was still a shock to her.

She refused to call on Hikari. It would give the girl a heart attack if she found out the whole story, how this was all started from the root. Y/n didn't have anyone other than her so was that why she was dialing this number on her phone?

Finally, after the third ringing, someone picked up. "Hello?"

"Chifuyu, can we talk?" Her voice was slightly shaky, she was still in her car. Her head was spinning so much that driving didn't sound like a good idea now.

It was silent from the other side before a rustling sound was heard. "It's him, isn't it?" He asked, knowing the answer already when she didn't say anything.

"Running is not an option?"

Y/n chuckled. If it was then she wouldn't be here. "Tried that before."

He sucked a deep breath through his greeted teeth. "Let's meet tomorrow then."

"Where?" That thought of him wanting to help her ease her worries a little bit.

"I'll drop you the location later."

"Okay." She agreed almost immediately. It did feel good to reach out, didn't matter if it's in vain or not, she just needs one person, or anyone to know that she was suffering from the start and she was never okay. That little hope was comforting enough.

'Is this the place?' Y/n mumbled to herself as she was standing like a tree in front of the stairs that lead to God knows what. It looked so dark down there that no living things should even be around.

She checked again the location that Chifuyu sent her for the second time and got nothing in return as it was here, she arrived at the place already. However, the air was not the same in the city as she was in the middle of nowhere.

Fingers tapping rapidly on the screen, about to call the guy when suddenly someone shouted her name from afar. She looked past her shoulder and there he was in his glory with the cheekiest smile ever.

"Here!" He pointed to the alley beside him, giving her the creeps and flashback from before with dark alleys but she put it at bay.

She didn't wave back at him, approaching him with a grumpy expression. "The location you sent me was wrong."

"Ah! Really?" He scratched his head. "Sorry about that, I might've misclicked or something."

Y/n shook her head. "It's fine, I'm not mad. Where are we going actually?" She glanced around her and saw nothing but greens.

"Come, follow me." He began to take the lead. "Make sure to watch your steps."

It was so hot in the afternoon and the guy told her to walk on foot, how lucky she was. "Is Takemichi there?"

He turned back to her. "Nope, he's fully booked for the rest of the day, out with his girl."

She grunted when Chifuyu suddenly stopped. The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm orange tinge to the shrine, the red color was so bright that it almost blinded their eyes. Two guys were seen sitting at the top of the stairs while playing cards.

Their screams caught her attention first. "That was totally cheating! Are you dumb?" The skinny guy with a short hair blonde stood up and threw the cards he was holding to the other guy's face.

"Huh?! I am dumb so I ain't gonna know the rules." He cried out, also standing up to match his height.

"What's the point of playing then you fatty?!" He was about to snap back when Chifuyu startled them.

"Oi!" He yelled, making the two dropped their angry faces as soon as they saw a woman behind them. The guy with round eyes became stiff with his hands beside him, looking straight ahead.

"Is this the girl?" The guy with the slanted eyes asked. Chifuyu nodded in response.

Y/n stared at him in disbelief. "You told them about me?"

His eyes widened as he put up his hands in defence. "No! of course not." He glanced at the two then whispered in her ears. "I told them you have a stalker instead."

Not sure if that was for the better or for worse, but she let it go anyways and eyed the two cautiously as they were more tense than before. It was like they didn't expect to see a woman, but Chifuyu must've told them so why they seemed uncomfortable?

"This is Peh Yan," He pointed at the taller guy. "And this is Pah Chin." He nodded in her way as a greeting. Then he bent down to collect the scattered cards in silence.

"Here, let's have a sit." Chifuyu said, sitting down with hands clamped at the front as they all were sitting in a circle, with Peh Yan creating a gap between Y/n.

Chifuyu was completely oblivious to the awkward silence that they shared. "Now," He cleared his throat. "Let's think of a solution. You go first Pah Chin."

He hummed in response, looking at Y/n dead straight in the eyes. "Kill him."

Yeah, so much of a help they are. "No, dumbass. I told you to think of something before coming here." Chifuyu scolded him like a child.

"Huh?! You called me like 10 minutes ago." He retorted back.

Chifuyu let out a devasted sigh. "Moving on," He stared at the other guy. "You got anything?"

Peh Yan averted his eyes back and forth between him and Y/n before shaking his head. Chifuyu then turned his attention back to her.

"Have you tried with the police?"

She nodded. "But it was in vain since Kei is their friend. He can easily manipulate the evidences that I have."

He ran his hands through his hair in frustration. "Okay, then-"

"Did you just say Kei?" Peh yan interrupted while raising his eyebrows. The mention of his name sparked an interest in him.

"Yeah, that's his name."

"The one with the glasses?"

She nodded again while a glint of hope lingers in her heart.

"Oh! That's our gang member."
