Chapter 1

"I win" I mock the two guards while I walk out of the store unbothered with bags full of money and jewelry.

I had everyone pinned on the floor and created an illusion for the cameras the moment I walked in the store. No one could move or see what was happening inside for the last 30 minutes.

See, I've been practicing magic for the last almost 300 years, and I can really get whatever I want, whenever I want it. Unfortunately due to recent events, I have been a bit on the run for the last 60 years, trying to stay away from the people that are trying to end me because they consider me a threat.

Along the way, I have created several spells for protection and defense. Most of them are simple but the more complicated ones require ingredients or even words in order to be activated.

I have been working on a new protection and power-up spell for longer than three years now because it requires rare ingredients, including a very strong power source, like the Tesseract.

The Tesseract changed a lot of hands during history but its last trace was in the hands of S.H.I.E.L.D., and more specifically, Nick Fury for the P.E.G.A.S.U.S. project.

So after I located it, I spent months collecting information about the project and when I had everything, it was time to put the plan in action.

I stole an ID from an Agent that is currently on vacation so she wouldn't notice it, and it gave me access to the P.E.G.A.S.U.S. project files and locations. It took me about a day to study the important parts that were in the files, but tonight is finally the big night.

With the help of another spell, I shapeshifted into her and passed all security protocols. I got in and walked to the back so I wouldn't attract looks until it's time for the swift change, where there are going to be half the usual number of people wandering around, including the doctors in the lab.

That moment, the Tesseract, spontaneously turned itself on and all the monitors spiked. It started flashing blue lights for a few seconds. Eventually, a wave of energy went through the whole room and then it turned itself off.

But it brought something with it. A man.
"I don't have time for this today" I whisper to myself.

Fury ordered him to surrender but he didn't so they started fighting. During their fight, and since they were pretty distracted by it, I managed to take the Tesseract and switch it with the fake one I had prepared earlier.

"Welcome to mama" I whisper as I close the case and I start to walk away. On my way out, I turn for a final look and I see that he is touching people with his spear and they get hypnotized. That's when I took a better look at the guy and recognized him.

"You have got to be kidding me..." I whisper to myself as I start to walk faster.

By the time I got to the car, it had gotten awfully quiet which means that he either killed them or hypnotized them all.

"Stop right there" I hear his voice
"You thought that a temporary blue glowing box would trick me?" he asks as I hear his steps approaching

"I hoped it would" I say confidently as I turn to look at him.

"Do you know who I am?" he asks smiling

"As a matter of fact I do" I answer and he looks at me confused.

"I am Lok--" he starts saying but I cut him off

"Yes, Loki, of Asgard. Son of Odin, or Laufey. God of Mischief. I know all about you" I reassure him with a smile.

He is a narcissist so let's feed his ego, make him relax and drop his first lines of defense without realizing it.

"I have read everything there is about you. I mean you are truly amazing" I add.
