Heimdall got us back to Earth and straight to the Avengers Center. They put Loki's body in the morgue and made me leave him there.

So I headed to find Nat who was in her room. I knock on her door and she opens it almost immediately

"Hey, where were you?" she asks

"I'm sorry, I... It's a long story" I answer

"Wait, were you crying?" she asks as she comes closer

"I need alcohol. Something strong" I say avoiding to answer her question

"There is 57% gin--"

"Great" I say and I walk inside without letting her finish.

She pours me a shot glass and I down it without hesitation. It is definitely strong and burning but I don't care at this point.

"Are you gonna tell me now what happened?" she asks

"Loki's dead" I answer in a weak voice and I can already feel more tears in my eyes.

"What...?" she asks and I nod. I cover my face with my hands and I try to stop myself from crying again.

"Sorry" I say after a sob escaped my lips

"It's ok" Nat says as she rubs my back
"Are you sure that..."

"He died in my arms... Right now, he is downstairs in the morgue and they aren't letting me see him. I don't know what they are doing to him but I am too tired to argue at the moment" I explain

"Oh, screw them. Come on" she says and drags me with her.

We go downstairs and she gets us past security. We go in the morgue and there he was, laying on a cold metal table, in the same clothes as before.

"Leave us alone" Nat orders the people that worked there. She comes and wraps her arm around me. I lay my head on her shoulder but I don't take my eyes away from Loki.

"I don't want to let go" I cry

"You've fallen so much for him so fast?" she asks as she rubs my back.

"This wasn't supposed to happen, Nat. We were about to leave together and start a life, just us. And I believed it. For once in a really long time, I let myself relax and be happy, and now the universe is punishing me for it" I reply

"No, don't say that" she says

"But it's true" I say.

We both hear heavy steps from behind and we turn around to see who it is. Thor...

"I'll come check on you later" Nat says to me and she leaves the room.

I take a chair from near and I sit close to Loki. I just sat there with him, looking at him and caressing his head and hair softly.

Thor walks closer and stands over me.
"We didn't get enough time... He just wanted someone to pay attention to him, tell him that he is not alone and that he is enough" I say

"Mother tried to" Thor says

"She did and he loved her very much. But have you ever wondered how different your lives could be if Odin hadn't taken him? Because Loki had thought of it, and not just once" I ask him

"He would probably be dead, they left him to die as a baby" he answers

"That's Odin's version of the story. But what's bugging me about it is; do you leave your baby in a temple -in a safe house of God- to die or do you hide it there?" I ask

"You can't blame my father for everything" he says

"I can and I will. Trauma is a powerful thing and different people handle it differently" I argue
