Coastal City, Kaduna State, Nigeria. 12th July, 2020. Two students Ibrahim Musa and Raphael Dayo stopped at the gate of Descent Memorial College located at Star road, Coastal City, Kaduna State. They were carrying their backpacks on their backs. They watched as several dozens of both old and sophomore students walked through the gate looking so excited they were back to school after a long vacation.
Ibrahim who is dark in complexion with brown eyes and dark hair sighed nervously, as he recalled what had happened to him and his other friends on their way back home from a nightclub week ago. He hoped what they have been experiencing wouldn't last forever and would stop very soon.
Raphael who is also dark in complexion with brown eyes and black hair, gave Ibrahim a side look, hoping he's also thinking about the same thing, because what's happening to them now after they nearly died a week ago is really making him nervous all the time.
"Are you okay dude?" Ibrahim asked, with a sigh, not looking at him.
"Are you? " Raphael asked, sarcastically.
"Dude, it's not funny. What is happening to us ain't normal, and as far as I can see it's not stopping!" Ibrahim said, seriously.
"We're damned dude, and by the way what happened? " Raphael asked, sounding serious.
Ibrahim glanced at Raphael for a moment feeling guilty for not telling them what really happened because he was the only one who witnessed everything. Suddenly, Ishaq Sani, Khalifa U. Faruq, and Saoban Omar joined them looking nervous and concerned.
"We need to talk guys! " Sauban said, seriously. He's dark in complexion with brown eyes and black hair.
"We aren't getting better, but worst every blessing day!" Ishaq said, nervously. He's dark in complexion with hazel brown eyes and dark hair.
Ibrahim glanced at his friends trying to figure a way to solve this problem, but before he could respond he spotted a girl, which his heart without wasting anytime deemed the most beautiful girl on the planet, alighted off one of the school buses few feets away. He stared at the girl approaching the gate dressed in elegant and expensive clothes.
"Oh my God!." Ibrahim said, in a slow voice.
Saoban and the others turned back to see for themselves. They saw the girl Ibrahim was staring at coming, that's when they turned back to their friend apparently into this girl, that is obviously a sophomore and very pretty. The new girl walked past them, but Ibrahim was still staring at her as his feelings for her overwhelmed him to the extent he couldn't suppress it. Raphael snapped him out of it.
"Guys, she's the most beautiful girl on this planet!" Ibrahim said, in a serious tone."Yeah, but don't even think about talking to her in your current state!" Khalifa said, sternly. He's a little bit fair in complexion with brown eyes and black hair.
"And what state is that, punk?" Ibrahim asked, annoyed.
"You're sick, we all are!." Khalifa said, in a serious tone.
"You called it sickness, he called it a curse and I called it miracle!." Ibrahim said boldly, as he gazed at Khalifa and Ishaq warily.
Khalifa and the others exchanged a puzzle look, then glanced a serious look at Ibrahim who then cracked a half-suppressed smirk, before he walked off leaving them apparently angry for what he had said.
Ibrahim was at his locker in the lockers corridor trying to take out his literature text book. As he looked to his left he saw the pretty sophomore girl with a piece of paper he realized containing her locker combination. He watched her as she stopped at a locker that's few feet away from his;she tried the combination and then open the locker.
Ibrahim felt a part of him urging him to go talk to the new girl, but another part wished to study her first even though he do not wish to waste anytime due to the hungry lions around. Suddenly, the new girl caught him staring and he quickly looked away feeling nervous, but when he looked again she ain't there anymore. He saw her leaving the corridor with a text book in hand. He's definitely going to talk to her even if she will ignore him like most pretty girls did whenever a guy approaches them.
Suddenly, Ibrahim got distracted by some noise at the end of the corridor. He looked and saw one of his school rivals Abubakar Isa Yusuf assaulting a good friend of his Nasir Idris. He quickly hurried there without hesitation feeling pissed.
"Let him go dumb ass!" Ibrahim said, sternly.
Abubakar who's dark in skin tone with brown eyes and black hair swung a condemning look at him as he clutched Nasir's collar furiously pinning him against a wall.
"What did you just call me?" Abubakar asked, in disgust.
"You heard me, so let him go." Ibrahim said, sternly.
"How dare you talk to me like that!" Abubakar said, in a rage, as he let go of Nasir and then walked to Ibrahim while the other students watched.
"Who do you think you are?" A voice asked, coldly.
Abubakar stopped in his tracks, spun back and found Khalifa and the rest of the crew standing beside Nasir. He grinned viciously clearly admiring their loyalty.
"Piss off willy troublemaker!" Ishaq said, in a chuckle.
"Or what pricks?" Abubakar asked, angrily.
"Or there would be trouble!" Ibrahim said, with a wide grin.
Abubakar scowled at Ibrahim to the extent he planned to make him and his friends pay. He cracked a wicked smirk before he walked off, that's when everyone minded their own business.
"Thanks a lot guys!." Nasir said, excited. He's dark in skin tone with brown eyes and dark hair.
"What are friends for, pal?." Ibrahim asked, softly.
"Abubakar won't bully you again, dude!." Raphael said, smiling.
"I don't think so, he just love it." Nasir said, doubtfully.
"Lets go, see you folks later." Ibrahim said, with a sigh, as he, Nasir, Raphael and Ishaq walked off heading to their class, while Khalifa and Saoban being in the science department since high school headed to their class as well.
A Black Range Rover pulled over several feet away from a high way that's between Coastal City and a City called Sparrow City. Two men in their 50s dressed in laboratory Coats sat at the back seat of the car staring at the highway as vehicles drove past them at top speed. There's a blue haired girl in her 20s sitting next to the driver staring at the highway as well, shortly before She glanced back at the scientists at the back seat overwhelmed by their thoughts.
"It happened here." One of the Scientist Dr Tom Ridge said, sounding nervous. He's dark in complexion with brown eyes and bald head.
"Your friend betrayed us and paid for it, but even though he's dead, we lost the formulas and the serums!" The other Scientist Dr Eddy Godrica said, annoyed.
"I'm so sorry, boss!" Dr Tom said, nervously.
Dr Eddy gave Dr Tom a vicious sidelook thinking of just ending his miserable life for his best friend's crimes, but the only thing that is standing between him and Dr Tom is his loyalty to the corporation and the fact maybe his deceased buddy has told him how to create more of the blue serum.
"I'll give you a second chance. I'll tell you what you will do next." Dr Eddy said, with a vicious grin. He's fair in skin tone with gray eyes and black hair.
Dr Tom sighed in relief that the ruthless commander of the deadly corporation wished to spare his life, but wondered what he would soon ask him to do.
"What about the kids?" The blue haired girl Anita Benson asked, curiously. She's fair in skin tone with green eyes and blue hair.
"I won't call them kids if I were you. They got the latest serum in their system, which is likely to turn them into our worst nightmare if we didn't contain them." Dr Eddy said, in a warning tone.
"I recalled Dr James telling me that Serum X is a very unique serum, capable giving its host multiple of superhuman abilities unlike the other experiments." Dr Tom said, seriously.
"That's why the son of a bitch tried to leave us, because he has been hiding it from us for years." Dr Eddy said, pissed.
"What should we do now? how can we find them?" Anita asked, curiously, as she looked at Dr Eddy through the mirror.
"I have a plan!" Dr Eddy said, viciously.
At school during lunch time, Ibrahim headed to the cafeteria after keeping his text books and backpack in his locker. As he took the hallway leading to the cafeteria, everyone and everything became deafening silence, which shocked him. He watched as other students walked past him and looking at him as if he's some kind of weirdo. Suddenly, he began to hear voices inside his head insulting and making fun of him. The voices became louder and louder to the extent he covered his ears feeling disoriented. The voices quickly waned as he felt a hand touched his shoulder. He turned back and found two of his good friends; Suleiman Umar and Safyan Manko. He sighed nervously hoping the two won't talk negatively like they used to whenever something happened to him or his best friends.
"Are you okay? " Suleiman asked, tenderly. He is dark in skin tone with brown eyes and black hair.
"Let me just guess, the drugs you took last night at the club is working now!" Safyan said, in a mocking tone. He is dark in skin tone with brown eyes and dark hair.
Ibrahim felt his rage boiling inside him. Safyan really thinks he's on drugs just because he used to go to clubs sometime. He scowled at Safyan and Suleiman before he walked off.
Inside the gigantic cafeteria that's over crowded by students. Ibrahim and his crew were sitting at the last table which was at the far end of the room. The cafeteria was noisy all the time and crowded. Suddenly, Ibrahim spotted the new girl sitting alone at a table reading a book instead of eating or drinking.
"What are you looking at?" Raphael asked, puzzled, before he and the others turned and saw the sophomore girl.
"I'm going to talk to her." Ibrahim said, in a slow voice, as he stared at the girl.
"No, you're not!" Saoban said, sternly.
"Of course I will!" Ibrahim said, sternly.
"What do you think she would do after she found out that you can move things with your mind?" Raphael asked, in a warning tone.
"And not to mention, you can't control it, pal. None of us can control the curse!" Ishaq said, with a chuckle.
"I'm not cursed, punk!" Ibrahim said, annoyed.
Ibrahim got up, took his cup of coffee and left the table heading to the new girl's table boldly. He tried so hard to describe how beautiful the sophomore girl is but couldn't, because words can never do that. As he reached the table, Abubakar and six other students flanking him blocked his way.
"Where do you think you're going, prick?" Abubakar asked, loudly.
Everyone in the cafeteria is now staring at the nemesis waiting to see what's going to happen next, because the last time the two sides faced off it was very bad.
"I was about to sit here before you dipshit blocked my path!" Ibrahim said, boldly, as he looked at the new girl's table.
The sophomore girl stared at Ibrahim, looking puzzled about why he's even going to sit at her table. Abubakar glanced at the girl for a moment planning to take her for himself after he dealt with his rival.
"Well, we already took the seats. You can try your luck somewhere else!" Abubakar said, sternly.
The new girl gazed at Ibrahim for a second and she recalled where she had seen him before; he was the guy she caught staring at her at the lockers corridor. She wondered if he would walk away, due to the fact he's obviously outnumbered.
"That doesn't exist in my dictionary!" Ibrahim said, with a grin.
"We will write it down for you, punk!" Abubakar said, in a rage.
"No need, I'll write it down myself!" Ibrahim said, disgusted.
"Don't test my patience here, prick!" Abubakar said, angrily.
"Please do me a favour and take another table!" Ibrahim said, softly, as he glanced at the sophomore girl.
First, the new girl seemed reluctant but then got up and left the table to another one wondering what would happen next. Suddenly, Raphael and the others joined Ibrahim ready to fight.
"Now, where were we?" Ibrahim asked, with a wide smirk.
In a fit of rage, Abubakar swung a fist at Ibrahim but to his shock his rival side stepped it swiftly. Raphael punched Abubakar hard in the guts, while Ibrahim lurched at the henchmen of his rival. Ishaq, Khalifa and Saoban lurched at Abubakar's henchmen as well, while Raphael took on Abubakar on his own. In a matter of moment, the Cafeteria turned into a fight club as students began to cheer, sing and using their tables and trays as drums. Raphael felt a surge of strength circulating his body, begging him to beat the crab out of Abubakar.
Ibrahim grabbed one of Abubakar's henchmen by the throat, he lifted him up effortlessly which surprised himself and the other students, then slammed him on a table hard thence, knocking the wind out of him.
Ishaq grabbed one of Abubakar's henchmen by the back of his shirt and hurled him with such force that he went flying off the ground up into the empty tables and chairs thence, knocking him out cold.
Saoban shoved one of Abubakar's henchmen face first against a table, breaking his nose in the process and then smiled widely. While Khalifa in one swift motion knocked down one of the remaining henchmen with a fist, then joined Raphael in thrashing Abubakar who was obviously overpowered.
On the spur of the moment, The Chancellor barged in with ten guards. They separated the fight and dragged the fighters out of the Cafeteria immediately. The sophomore girl sat on her seat wondering what they just got themselves into, and they're likely to be expelled or worst, unaware of the feud between the two that has been reigning for a very long time, and she thought they fought because of her.
