Anita and the remaining supervillains, feeling terrified, watched as Ibrahim jostled the lifeless Bob away like a rag doll. All of a sudden, the terror somehow triggered a sort of rage in them that they have never felt before in their lives. Both Kane and Pate lurched towards Ibrahim ferociously, while Anita whose body is now made up of pure electrical energy, flung a bolt of lightning at him, which didn't affect him at all.
Ibrahim stood there, smirking widely, feeling amazed by how he is somehow unaffected by the bolt flung to him. He gazed down at his hands, smiling viciously, as electricity continuously flow around his body, feeling capable of manipulating it himself. On the spur of the moment, something caught his attention, distracting him from his angry opponents. He instinctively turned east, where he saw, three thousand miles away, in a car, a face he haven't seen for the past four years, coming to Coastal City. But before he could react, Kane hit him several feet away where he crashed into a car; therefore wrecking it.
Anita in a fit of rage, moved towards Ibrahim at a speed of light, punched him down with all the strength she could muster and then seized him by the throat. She looked back at Bob's corpse, recalling the kind of great person he was and then turned back to Ibrahim whose eyes shortly started glowing red. She quickly let go of him as he smiles mischievously at her.
Ibrahim felt a surge of power overwhelmed him greatly, making him feel unstoppable, invincible, and mighty. He felt capable of manipulating everything around and that's when electricity started to flow on his body; shortly before he sends Anita flying backward with a lightning spark. In a fit of rage, he instinctively smashed the ground, the impact sends out a powerful shock wave that obliterated dozens of life forms at close range away, including Kane and Pate but Anita managed to flew off using the electricity; the impact also created destructive quakes that destroyed several building and the people in them.
Ibrahim stood in the middle of the catastrophe which he had unleashed, that obliterated dozens if not hundreds of life forms and properties. His eyes turned back to normal, that's when a sense of guilt overcame him and his rage suddenly waned. He could hear those who have survived screaming for help and at that moment he recalls Umar who was with him when Anita started her massacre. He looked around him, confused and devastated with the thought that he might have murdered his best friend as well. Suddenly, he felt his phone buzzed twice in his pocket. He pulled it out and to his relief he found a message from Umar telling him that he's heading home and that he should do the same as fast as possible.
Saoban was in his apartment at his parent's house, working on a project that was given to them using his desktop computer. He felt so amazed by how fast he is now when it comes to using his computer, unlike before. Now he can manipulate it into doing whatever he wants it to do without any limitation. He stopped what he was doing as he thought about those that were given to them to protect. He wondered how someone was able to create something like that can either save them or destroy them all overnight. He also wondered why Dr James gave them the formulas to protect and why he was killed by same people now after them for getting involved in something they shouldn't have. He sighed heavily, reminding himself about how they were all endangering themselves and their loved ones by keeping those formulas with them that doesn't even suppose to exist, but they did anyway.
On the spur of the moment, Saoban's phone buzzed beside him. He picked it up, unlocked it and then found a message from Khalifa asking him if he had seen what Ibrahim had done and if he hadn't, then he should quickly on his TV. He quickly hurried to the TV and on it and found DITV showing a devastating news about a specific place in Coastal City obliterated. He slowly sat down on a Sofa, gaping right at the TV, unable to believe it, that Ibrahim was the cause of it.
"Oh my God! What have you done, Ibrahim, you piece of shit?." Saoban asked, in a calm, cool rage.
Kendra and Femi woke up in a large warehouse only to found themselves binded on the same wooden chair. They looked around the gigantic junk warehouse as they both struggles with the rope to free themselves to no avail. At that very moment, Femi wondering how they both ended up in a junk warehouse, gazed at her best friend whom might know how, due to the fact, the only thing she can remember was being hit by a steel.
"Vincent and Jude happened." Kendra said, in a fit of annoyance.
Femi just couldn't believe what her ears have heard, that it was The Lightning and The Breacher's doing to begin with. But before she could say a word to her best friend, Vincent and Jude walked into the warehouse covered in dust. She stared at them coldly from head to toe, wondering how they got covered in dust.
"What happened to you losers?." Femi asked, sounding curious.
"It doesn't matter. What has happened an hour ago cannot be reversed. So we are not going to talk about it." Vincent said, with a sigh, unable to forget the catastrophe Ibrahim had unleashed that resulted in a massive casualties.
"But you will soon find out later when we are done with you." Jude said, in a stern voice.
"When you're done with us, right? Do you have any idea about what you morons got yourselves into?." Femi asked, coldly.
"Yes. We are done being the pawns of that rotten pig." Jude said, boldly.
"Oh boy! You two, are in so much trouble for jeopardizing our mission to eliminate the credible threats." Femi said, her voice rising.
"Let me make this clear to you. We have quit and anyone... I mean anyone who try to hunt us down will face the music." Vincent said, in a warning tone.
Kendra and Femi stared at the two traitors whom have been working for The Wave Corporation for years and now decided to just walk away just like that. They both know the only way out of the game is either the organization forced them to retire or die serving them for the gift they had given them.
"Walking corpse!." Kendra said, in a menace laughter.
"Make sure you deliver our message." Vincent said, before he and Jude turned around and started walking away.
"Ungrateful bastards! You're willing to turn your back against the only people in this world that saved your lives from an impending doom." Femi said, in a fit of rage.
Jude and Vincent stopped in their tracks, turned around and faced Femi and Kendra whose life's is so messed up to the brim ever since they took the miserable path of wreaking havoc wherever they tread. They couldn't believe that Femi actually claimed that The Wave Corporation had saved them from an impending doom.
"We are all nothing more than their perfect Guinea Pigs. You two should come back to your senses before it's too late. That's the only thing I have for you today." Jude said, in a serious tone.
"There are only two ways out of this miserable path they have chosen for us. It's either we rot in prison or end up six feet under." Vincent said, sagaciously.
"No prison can keep us, dumb ass!." Kendra said, in a chuckle.
Femi who was already tired of playing nice gazed down at the ropes restraining her on the chair, shortly before her eyes discharged an amount of heat that burn up the ropes. She quickly stood up and glared at the traitors whom started to step back out of self-preservation, because there's no way they can take The Flame Queen on their own in a fair fight.
"Just roast the brain dead morons like pigs!." Kendra said, so fed up.
"Next time, sweetheart!." Jude said, in a chortle, before he taps Vincent on the shoulder and they both vanished in a puff of black smoke.
Umar was in Ibrahim's room, sitting on the Sofa opposite the TV, watching the catastrophe over and over again, as he processed what his best friend had told him about what had happened to them on the highway. He picked up his phone, unlocked it and found ten missed calls from his Mum, four missed calls from his older brothers and a message from his Mum who is so curious to know if he is alright and safe, due to the catastrophe that had occurred. He sighed heavily, not sure what to do, then kept his phone on the Sofa beside him.
Suddenly, the door bell rang three times. Umar got up, walked to the door and opened it, only to found Saoban, Khalifa, Raphael, Abubakar, Ishaq and Nasir, whom he haven't been in touch with for a very long time. They all stood there, gaping at him whom they haven't seen since their Junior High School graduation.
"Where is he? Is he inside?." Saoban asked, in a curious tone, searching the room from outside.
"Nice to see you too, dumb ass!." Umar said, with a chuckle.
Saoban and the others walked past Umar shortly before he shut the door closed. They surveyed the room as if searching for gold, while Umar just sat down and continue watching the terrible news. Abruptly, Ibrahim walked out of his bedroom, now wearing a new set of outfit, looking worried and feeling guilty for what he had done without any second thought.
"What have you done?." Khalifa asked, in disappointment, looking at Ibrahim warily.
"What were you thinking when you exposed yourself like that?." Saoban asked, in a disgust tone.
"He didn't expose himself, man. He was wearing a red bandana over his face, in case you didn't notice it." Umar said, standing up for his best friend.
"You massacred approximately one hundred and sixty two innocent people and also obliterated properties.!" Khalifa said, in a nervous tone.
"He didn't do it on purpose, guys. Isn't it obvious that he doesn't know how to handle his powers properly?." Umar asked, boldly.
"Shut the hell up, Umar. This is not your business!." Saoban said, in a fit of anger.
In a fit of anger, Umar stood up and moved closer to Saoban who was getting on his nerves. He doesn't care about the superpowers he was told that he possessed, and will kick his ass like back in the days. He shoved him back, daring him to bring it on.
"I can still beat the crap out of you like always!." Umar said, in a stern voice.
"It was an accident. I lost control and that blue hair wench was already killing people." Ibrahim said, softly.
"You shouldn't have engaged and just walk away." Raphael said, tenderly.
"Come on, fellas. What he did was necessary." Abubakar said, standing up for Ibrahim.
"I just can't walk away from something like that. Not to mention, all those people that were killed in our school. Have you guys forgotten that we vowed to avenge them?." Ibrahim asked, curiously.
"Not like this, Ibrahim. We can't just go around killing people, all in the name of we don't have control." Saoban said, sternly.
"You really think I killed them on purpose, don't you?." Ibrahim asked, in disgust, that his own friends don't want to believe him anymore.
"We are trying to find a way to get better, to become normal again." Khalifa said, trying not to sound odd.
Ibrahim stood there, looking at Saoban, Khalifa, Raphael and Ishaq, whom he thought were on the same page with him, but he was wrong the whole time, because they still believes what was happening to them isn't a miracle but a sort of disease that must be cured by all means necessary. Without another word, he took a sit beside Abubakar, then looked up at them as he finally seems to come to a decision.
"I think we're done here. You can go now." Ibrahim said, in a calm, cool rage.
"What do you mean by that?." Raphael asked, feeling offended.
"He wants us out of his damn room for telling him the truth." Khalifa said, angrily, his voice rising.
"Yes, out of my damn room and out of my business!." Ibrahim said, in a stern voice.
Khalifa, Raphael, Ishaq and Saoban stood there for some moments, staring at Ibrahim whom had changed completely to a different person they don't recognize at all. Without saying a word, they left the room, leaving Nasir and Abubakar there dumbfounded.
Abubakar sighed heavily as he swung a side look at Ibrahim sitting next to him seething with rage. He doesn't blame him for what happened earlier, because he believes he was just trying to do the right thing; something the others were afraid to do even with their superpowers.
"I'm with you, man." Abubakar said, boldly.
"Yeah, for better or worse." Nasir said, with a sigh.
Ibrahim looked at Abubakar and Nasir whom were trying to get involve with the unnatural world he found himself in, despite the fact that they have no superpowers. He cracked a vicious smirk as the thought of turning them into superhumans crossed his mind. He thought about how he will find a way to use one of the formulas he was given to form his own team, since Saoban and the others were too scared to fight back. At that very moment, he recalled seeing Hajar earlier before he lost control of himself and unleash hell. He focused his senses and quickly found her at her family house kilometers away, really happy to return home after spending years studying medicine at a university in Katsina State.
"She is here." Ibrahim said, with a sigh.
"Who?." Umar, Abubakar and Nasir asked, in unison.
"Hajar." Ibrahim said, in a slow voice.
"What?." Abubakar asked, puzzled.
"How did you know that?." Nasir asked, curiously.
"Did you see her around or what?." Umar asked, curiously.
"I have these superpowers guys, I can see, smell and hear everything in existence. And I can also read the thoughts of an infinite number of people. That's how I know about Hajar." Ibrahim said, with a heavy sigh.
"What else can you do, dude?." Umar asked, sounding curious.
"I don't know, but I think there's more to discover." Ibrahim said, cracking a smirk, reminding himself of that very moment when he was capable of manipulating everything in existence.
Jerry and his team were in their hotel room, watching the horrible news of the catastrophe that had occurred couple of hours ago. Every TV channel in the state was busy broadcasting the terrors and horrors; it's just a matter of time before the news escape across other states in the country and even to other neighbouring countries. The mayor of the city had grievously sympathises with all the people who were mostly affected by the havoc and promised to provide refuge for them as soon as possible.
Vida stared at the superhuman with a red bandana on his face whom was trying to fight off Anita and her friends, before he destroyed the area with a powerful shockwave and destructive quakes. Due to the way the unknown superhuman was fighting, he quickly realized how new he was to the unnatural world that was created out of madness and greed for power. He gave Jerry a side look whom was obviously thinking about the same thing by the way he was staring at the TV without a blink.
Ruth who possessed the power to manipulate technology, was sitting alone at a table at the end of the large room with her laptop computer. She managed to recover all the loss data of the destroyed surveillance cameras at the area, something the government would do in months or even years; that's if they choose to investigate just to find out about the superhuman with the red bandana, since he is currently the only one whose identity remains unknown. She saved the footage of Anita meeting two individuals in a car at the traffic jam on her computer, shortly after she found the footage of one of the individuals the supervillainess was talking to, picking up a red bandana on the ground during the chaos.
"Guys, I found the mysterious superhuman." Ruth said, in excitement.
Vida and all the others hurried and gathered around the cyberpath to see for themselves. They saw Ibrahim picking up the red bandana and also talking to Umar, just before he faced Anita whom was busy destroying lives and properties. Now they know what he looks like but don't know his name and don't know how to find him yet.
"Find out who he is please." Jerry said, sounding curious.
The cyberpath mentally interacted with her computer to find out more about Ibrahim. The computer scanned his face and abruptly displayed some vital information about the superhuman the team was looking forward to finding out.
"Ibrahim Musa." Jerry said, with a sigh.
"Now what?." Precious asked, curiously.
"Now... We find the mongrel and deal with him." Vida said, in a serious tone.
"What does that supposed to mean?." Precious asked, feeling puzzled.
"He must be stopped before he wreaked the worst of the worst." Jerry said, sternly.
Precious, Ruth and Alice swung a look at Jerry and Vida who want to confront Ibrahim as if he's the devil manipulating all the bad guys in the world, not to mention, he stopped Anita from killing more people, even though he somehow wrecked the area and also shattered dozens of people with his powerful shockwave.
"You have got to be kidding me, guys. Ibrahim was trying to help. It was obvious, but it went wrong." Ruth said, seriously.
"He obliterated lives and properties, surpassing Anita. It was obvious." Vida said, sternly.
"No one is above mistake, guys. He lost control." Alice said, taking Ruth's side.
"Look at his eyes!." Bright said, her voice rising.
Ruth and all the others watched the footage of Ibrahim's eyes turning a bright red, just before he smashed the ground and created a powerful shockwave and destructive quakes that obliterated lives and properties in large scale.
"What kind of superhuman has red glowing eyes?." Sagir asked, in a nervous tone.
"A demon." Emeka said, nervously.
Jerry looked at Precious, Ruth and Alice whom doesn't seem to consider Ibrahim a credible threat to humanity. He wondered why they chose to rebel against the whole team for someone they don't even know at all. He looked away and then gazed at the photo of Ibrahim on the monitor, trying to study him first before he and Vida could confront him.
"They weren't rebelling against us all, Jerry. There's a chance that what they were speculating could be true, that he was trying to help but things went sideways, due to lack of control." Okon said, softly, after reading Jerry's thoughts.
"You can't be serious, psychic." Rose said, in disgust.
"Guys, I think we don't know what we are up against yet. We know a lot about The Aegis and The Wave, but this guy here... We don't know anything about him." Alex said, sounding reasonable.
"We know his name, his age, his job and where he lives. That's a good start." Rose said, in a stern voice.
"That's not enough, wench!." Alex said, in a mocking tone.
Rose suddenly felt offended by Alex calling her a wench mockingly. She glared at him as he stared at her with his blue eyes. She realized he has been treating her with no respect ever since she dumped his offer to become her boyfriend when they were still at The Aegis' bunker in New York. A part of her urged her to just thrash him bloody just to show him how worthless he is to her.
"What are you getting at, Alex?." Jerry asked, in a curious tone.
"Kane possessed supernatural strength and supernatural durability. He was dubbed the strongest man on the planet, before more like him were created by The Aegis and The Wave. But Ibrahim defeated him with ease and ultimately got shattered to bits by the shockwave, rendering his supernatural durability useless." Alex said, reasonably.
Jerry and the others processed and thought about what Alex has said, shortly before recalling Dr James lecturing them about supernatural strength and supernatural durability. They recalled the doctor telling them that a superhuman with supernatural strength is glaringly and obviously stronger than his race because his capability is pushed beyond the natural level, making that person immensely stronger than everyone on the planet, except for those with absolute strength; while a superhuman with supernatural durability are extremely resilient, allowing him to withstand harmful forces on the body such as crushing weights, impacts, pressures, changes in temperature and can resist tearing his muscles and breaking his bones.
"But you guys are stronger than Kane and the others like Dr Danladi had stated back then." Emeka said, looking at Vida and Jerry.
"Strength infinitum and durability infinitum, right?." Alice asked, with a chuckle
"We need to be cautious dealing with Ibrahim for the time being." Vida said, with a sigh, finally deciding to deal with Ibrahim after knowing what he is capable of.
