It was finally the end of a long school week.. well, almost. There was still Friday to get through, but Linda always thought Friday was like the final home stretch. It was only eight hours of classes that she was pretty much acing- it wasn't so bad.

"Hey," Danny sat next to her I their shared physics class.

"Hi," she greeted around a yawn. They had become very good friends since school started.

"You tired?"

She nodded, "I couldn't get to sleep last night."

"How come?"

She shrugged, "my brain wouldn't shut up."

He wanted to ask what she meant by that, but the teacher entered the room. He made a note to talk to her at lunch.

Linda had brought her own lunch- she wasn't going to make that mistake again. She had packed her chicken chili in a thermos to keep it as hot as possible. She had made tortilla chips the night before, so she took those out of her lunch box.

"This seat taken?" Danny wondered already starting to sit.

She smiled, "it is now. What you got today?"

"Eh..." he took a bite of his sandwich. "Ham and cheese. What's that?"

"Chicken chili and tortilla chips." She handed him a chip.

He ate it, "mm, that doesn't taste like the normal kind."

"They're home made."

"Who made them?"

"I did."

"Yeah? They're good."

"Thanks."

They ate in comfortable silence before Danny asked, "you said earlier that your brain wouldn't shut up. What did you mean?"

"Oh, I just meant I was thinking about everything under the sun. It was one thing, then mid-thought another thing... that ever happen to you?"

"Sometimes, yeah."

"Good. Now we can be crazy together!" Linda laughed and opened her chocolate milk carton.

"Do you like pizza?" He seemed to ask out if the blue.

"Everyone likes pizza!"

"And movies?"

"Well, now, that depends on the movie. Rom-coms? Yes please! War movies? No thank you."

"Wanna test our luck and see what's showing tomorrow night?"

She stopped her spoon from going into her mouth in midair. "You mean like a date?"

"Yeah. We'll grab pizza, see a movie."

"That sounds nice! Okay," she smiled widely. She was going on a date with the cutest guy in school!

Wendy lived in her own penthouse apartment with her husband, but she could occasionally be found in the home where her sister still resided. It was usually to talk to Marni about the latest in the fashion world, or to ask for some money. Wendy had married rich, but that didn't mean she had all the money in the world.

Linda was happy when Wendy visited. Especially this time around, because she had a pressing question. "Wendy, can I ask you a question?"

"What is it?"

"I've got a date tonight- and he's gonna be here soon- and I have no idea what to wear or do!"

"Where are you going on this date?"
