It had been an entire school year, and Brie had decided to make Linda her best friend. She had showed Linda parts of New York she loved during the breaks; the friends usually swapped and traded notes for their shared classes. They learned a lot about each other in that year, and Brie knew all about Linda's Marine boyfriend. She honestly wanted to meet this Danny Reagan for herself, because there was no way someone could sound that lovely and that awful at the same time.

"Hey, Linda, I was thinkin'."

"Uh oh," Linda teased as they walked back to the campus from the mall one Saturday afternoon.

"When the semester is over, are you going to get an apartment on campus?"

"I was thinking about it. But I'd have to find someone who'd want to split the rent with me."

"I'll do that."

"You will?" She stopped walking, "you're not totally sick of me by now? I'm mean... I'm a mess."

"But you're a hot mess, and that's the best kind. Besides, I've gotten used to you by now. And we're best friends, aren't we?"

"Yeah we are."

"So next week, we'll go apartment hunting, yeah?"

"Okay." She nodded and repeated her agreement more confidently, "yeah, okay!"

The next day, the ladies started looking for apartments in the paper. A week after the school year was over, the girls narrowed the choices down to four. Two were on campus, one was off campus, and one was in the city.

"So we agree it definitely needs two bedrooms, a decently large living area, nice kitchen, and at least one bathtub," Brie read off the list they had made.

"In a good location that accepts pets," Linda adds, petting the bunny her boyfriend had bought for her the summer before he left.

Brie sighs, "you're really going to bring that rabbit?"

"It's not a rabbit," Linda says the word like it's poison, "she's a bunny, and her name is Trudy."

"Excuse me, Trudy," she says, passing her roommate and the bunny, making Linda laugh. "After lunch, I think we should try the ones on campus first. Then the one just outside of the campus. Then the city."

"Oof, I really hope we don't have to get the city apartment," Linda turns around, watches Brie grab her purse. "What're you doing?"

"We are getting lunch out today."

"Somewhere inside, I hope. It's ninety degrees in the shade!"

"So when are you going to marry that marine of yours?" Brie asks as she dips her fry in ketchup.

"What makes you so sure I'm gonna marry him?"

"The way he looks at you. He's got three looks: the 'I'm totally in love with you look'. The 'can she get any cuter/hotter/sexier?' look, and finally the tell-all look... 'I wanna screw you'."

Linda blushes, "goodness knows I want to marry him."

"So marry him."

"He hasn't asked me."

"Not yet," she smiled knowingly. "I'm positive he will- Madame Bridget is never wrong."

"Madame Bridget? Never wrong?" Linda laughed, "what about Finn and Kelly? Hm? You were so sure they were gonna get married, but it turned out she was having an affair with another woman. Finn was pissed and devastated! He dropped out of school, Kelly went to date Daisy. But nobody's happy because Kelly and Daisy can't marry, and Finn is living under a rock somewhere."
