Subhadra was shocked at the sight in front of her... Her father, King Susharma was held in the tip of a sword. She rushed inside the court not knowing that another shock awaited her. She glanced at the other side of the sword and saw the prince who made her pause the universe for a moment, was now at the verge of killing her birthgiver. Subhadra said ' Who are you? How dare u captive my father this way? What has he done?' Arjun was lost again in her but this time he was admiring her fuming anger. He was impressed by such a strong consort from a princess. Before she could say anything,Sanjaya entered holding Duryodhana at the tip of his sword. 'Rajkumari! U are speaking to the king of Indraprastha and the greatest archer of the world, Gandivdhari Arjuna!!!' Hearing Sanjaya, Subhadra felt a strange fear. She needed more of clarification. Sanjaya continued ' Ur father and ur fiance have plotted against us, waging a secret attack on Indraprastha , forming a secret army in ur state forest, and hence as per the rules, we have all the rights to kill both of them' .
Hearing this Duryodhana pleaded in front of Arjun to grant him mercy and shifted all the blames upon king Susharma. Arjun smirked and turned towards Subhadra and King Susharma ' Look at ur choice King Susharma, with this extent of bravery u dared on attacking the strongest kingdom in the whole Aryavart? And Rajkumari.. is ur choice this filthy? '
Subhadra had tears in her eyes which saddened Arjun. Subhadra wiped her tears and stated folding her hands 'King Arjun! Please forgive my father.I beg of u. Please grant both of them lives. As per the tradition u can acquire our kingdom and treasures!'.
Arjun turned towards Subhadra with eyes filled with love and said ' Rajkumari! I don't desire ur kingdom! I want something else!' Subhadra in a jiffy asked wat he desires to which Arjun replied that he is sure King Susharma won't grant him his wish and so he won't grant him mercy. Subhadra looked at her father and bravely asked him wat did he want. Arjun said ' I am ready to free the kingdom and grant lives to the both of them but in return I want king Susharma to give me his daughter'. Shock travelled on the faces of all the people present in the room. Subhadra looked at Arjun with disgust and king Susharma screamed ' Impossible!!! I am ready to die and give u my kingdom, but never will I jeopardize my daughter's happiness'. Hearing Susharma's words , an infuriated Arjun was ready to draw his sword and behead him when he heard the most melodious voice saying' I am ready to sacrifice myself, but plz spare my father'. Hearing this calmed Arjun and he smirked. Susharma tried his best to convince Subhadra to not take this step but Arjun left him and looked at Subhadra. He ordered the soldiers to hold King Susharma and Duryodhana captive until he along with Rajkumari Subhadra pass the borders of Maurya. Saying this Arjun stepped towards Subhadra, gently held her hand and dragged the teary Subhadra out of the court. Subhadra for the last time turned and glanced towards her father who was drowning in his own sea of tears. Arjun dragged her with gently and asked her 'Do u wish to take ur handsmaiden along with u ?' Subhadra looked at him almost numb and replied 'No, I don't want to drag another life with me towards hell?' Arjun smirked and caressed her cheeks ' That is perfectly alright love.. I shall bring the best trained counsel for u... I promise u will have no problem in Indraprastha'. Saying this he lifted Subhadra in his arms and made her sit in his beautiful white chariot and drove fiercely towards Indraprastha. Subhadra turned to see her home for the last time and fresh tears left her eyes........
