Chapter 3: Rutmate

Jack Kingsley worked at the largest technology company in Stone Valley, in fact, it was larger than most companies on this side of the Mississippi. He liked his job as a data analyst, it wasn't too stressful compared to other jobs and everything was stable. But he was facing a bit of a crisis. It was accidental and embarrassing. He had walked in on his boss and coworker having sex in his boss's office. He went through the awkward motions of apologizing and trying to smooth things over. But something flipped a switch in him.

Something he hadn't even considered before. But seeing Harriet being so aggressive towards Thomas, he felt a sort of jealousy and envy in him. Not because he wanted Thomas or because he wanted Harriet. But he wanted to be in Thomas's position under an alpha. He felt startled and scared by this revelation within himself. Jack had considered himself to be a normal alpha who liked omegas and maybe betas as he should. But more and more he fixated on the idea that maybe... Maybe he'd like to try being with an alpha. Just once. Just to see what it was like. He had been with omegas and betas previously but it didn't make him feel like he did thinking about being with an alpha.

There was a sort of yearning and obviously arousal. It was like having an itch he couldn't quite reach. He had tried everything to take care of this urge himself. Buying himself toys thinking that maybe it was just penetration. But that wasn't quite it. Though it did feel good. He had even started watching pornography of alpha couples going at it. Two male alphas were fine, and sometimes he liked the sight of the two men lovingly embracing each other. But he liked the aggression of female alphas, maybe it was because he had heard Harriet's possessive growl and wanted someone to treat him like that. He wanted to be desired that badly by someone. All the omegas he had been with, he had to fawn over. No one ever fawned over him.

Jack stroked himself watching yet another video of a female alpha turning a male alpha into a mewling mess. He almost sounded like a horny omega from how much he moaned and begged. The toy inside of him buzzed away rapidly, still, somehow holding in place. Jack cupped one hand around his mouth as he softly moaned. Though there was no need, he wanted to stay quiet. He wished so badly that was him. He wanted so badly for that to be him. The male alpha let out a cry when the female knotted in him on screen. Jack felt himself knot in his hand and the condom he was using filled up. His ass clamped down on the toy causing it to slip out and onto the bed. He reached over and shut it off before collapsing. Was he even attractive to other alphas? He lifted his head to see himself in the reflection of his computer screen. The black box of the ended video served as a mirror. He sat up straight and tried to get into an attractive position. He was average-looking, he wasn't ugly, but he was very much an alpha man. Did other alphas prefer softer alphas? Similar to an omega? Did other alphas prefer alphas that were like the perfect alpha? Did he have to work out more?

He shifted in front of his computer before flopping down in front of it on his stomach. Burying his face into the pillow that he had been using as a face rest he let out a loud sigh. Then Jack closed the tab before opening up a search tab. 'How to date another alpha'. He felt ridiculous searching for this, making him feel more like a curious middle schooler than a grown man. But there was no one to talk about this with and he'd never know unless he tried at least once with another alpha. Scrolling through the results he saw mostly articles about alphas freaking out overthinking they might be in love with another alpha. Jack wasn't worried about that, he was worried that if he did like other alphas. No other alphas would like him because all he's ever dated were omegas and betas.
