Chapter 27

Hunter was sad. People were dying, and he knew he could be next. Hunter really wanted to know why the gods were doing this. Was this fun for them? Well, it definitley was not fun for Hunter. He knew that there could only be one victor, one survivor. Who would it be? Would it be Hunter? Would it be Jessica? No one would know... Until the end of these games. Why couldn't they just end now, with the people that are alive? Oh yeah because that's the rules. Only one winner.

Hunter saw Jessica aiming her bow at John. Finally, that kid was going to die. Hunter knew that Jessica can handle herself-especially with Pegasus- so he went to go get Leo. Hunter looked for a while. It was hard with all of the dead bodies though. Hunter looked for a while more until he saw Leo. The evil little idiot was just about to put a knife through Jason's heart. Those boys were best friends just days ago and now, one was going to kill the other. Hunter could not let that happen. Hunter spirited as hard as he could-probably the fastest in his life- to Leo and Jason. Just as the tip of Leo's blade was on Jason's chest, Hunter tackled Leo off. Leo made a grunting sound, surprisingly deep for such a small person, as he was lifted off. Hunter pinned Leo down with all of his strength. He could not let this kid go. Leo tried to struggle, but Hunter was too strong. What exactly did the gods put in that medicine? Hunter did not want to know. Hunter punched Leo in the face several times and then got off Leo. He kicked Leo's side a couple of times just to make sure he couldn't fight.

Hunter yelled, "You better stay down or you die!" He was definitely not done with Leo yet.

Hunter walked over to Jason, making sure that no one would attack him. Everyone seemed to be in their own little battle though. Hunter shook Jason until he woke up.

"Piper?" Jason croaked.

Hunter looked down. He guessed that Jason knew Piper was dead, but had hopes. "Sorry, man..." Hunter barely got the words out. "You can help me avenge her though." Hunter tried his best smile.

Jason nodded. "Yeah... Let's avenge her." Anger started to grow in Jason's eyes. "Let's go kill John."

Frank saw Jessica fighting John alone so he decided to help. Hazel was crying on the ground, but Frank pulled her along. Hazel started to protest, but when Frank pointed at Jessica and John, Hazel nodded and started to follow.

John must have seen Frank and Hazel coming because he turned towards them.

John laughed. "You guys think you can really win this thing?" John yelled, "Well, you're not! We all know I am!"

To the side, Jessica laughed. John glared at her, but she didn't seem to care. As soon as John looked away from Jessica, Jessica made a tackle gesture. Frank got what she meant. Frank had to help her if her tackle failed. She also needed Frank to distract John. Frank nodded towards Jessica and got his spear out. In the corner of Frank's eye, he saw Hunter and Jason coming. Good. Even though it was only John, they would need some more help. Frank suddenly saw Leo appear a couple of yards behind Hunter, knife raised.

"Hunter, behind you!" Frank blurted out.

Jessica took this distraction as a chance, tackling John. Hazel helped, get some cuts on him. Meanwhile, Hunter, with no bow ready, took out a knife and threw it at Leo.

Boom

The knife had gone clean through Leo's heart.

Jessica and Hazel got off John,who was passed out at the moment, looking silently at Leo. He could have been evil in the end, but that was the gods' fault. Leo was a good guy, but he was gone... Forever.
