Chapter 30

Hunter couldn't believe that Jessica left him. They weren't just allies, they were brother and sister. Family can't just leave you like that, especially in a death battle. Hunter saw Jessica walking away, head up and confident. How could she do this and why so suddenly?

Hunter started after her. "Jess wait..."

Jessica didn't wait. All she said was, "You heard what I said Hunter. No... No more."

By now, Hunter was getting a little mad. He ran after Jessica, grabbed her hand, and turned he around. "You can't just LEAVE ME JESS." Hunter yelled. Jessica started to struggle, but Hunter was too strong. "Jessica... Please don't leave me. I-I'm sorry."

Jessica looked up at Hunter and glared at him. "There's nothing to be sorry about Hunter." She looked down, sighed, and looked back up at him. "You're too late." She then managed to get out of his grip and continued to walk in the direction she was going before. "I can win without you Hunter."

Hunter didn't reply for he was too stunned by his sister's behavior. All he could do was sigh. Everything was falling apart. First he killed Leo, then he got rejected by his sister. Hunter remembered the day when they became allies, before he was known as a killer.

Hunter saw his first ally, who happened to be his half sister. She was average size, with strong legs and arms. She had brown hair and blue eyes. She was definitely a daughter of Apollo. Hunter walked up to behind her.

"Hey sis." Hunter said. "Do you want to be allies?"

Jessica turned around and said, "Allies it is." As she smiled and shook Hunter's hand.

Everything seemed so normal before the games. Everything was so simple, so easy. Everything was much better than now. He remembered training with his sister. Surprisingly, Hunter laughed. He remembered feeling invincible, on top of the world. Well his world is now falling apart.

All the gods sat watching the games for which they enjoyed. Even the gods who's children were dead were still watching. Apollo was distracted. His children were fighting and he wasn't sure if either of them were going to survive. No one was really cheering for John except for Hephaestus and Hades. Artemis and even Athena were cheering for his children, but Athena is afraid that Hunter will lose it. Apollo agreed with her.

After Jessica left Hunter, Zeus laughed like a maniac. "Ah neither of them are going to make now!"

Athena glared at Zeus and said, "Like your son is going to make it?!"

"Well he is with Poseidon's boy. And that other archer one!"

"Well only one demigod can come out of the arena..." Hermes chirped it.

"Oh will you stop reminding me of that!" Apollo angrily yelled.

Athena put her hand on Apollo's shoulder. "You'll have to face that your children may die Apollo."

Apollo sighed and said, "I know. But which one will win."

All of a sudden all of the gods started arguing. Apollo heard some comments about Jessica winning, Hunter winning, or neither winning.

Artemis sat next to her brother and said, "It would be better if neither of them would make it."

Apollo with tears in his eyes, looked at Artemis and said, "I know."
