James POV ~
Its been an hour since we arrived at this dinner party and so far it's been quite interesting. Nadiné's family was different to what I expected.
They were a very upper class family yet so humble. They were all so elegant and this house was just wow.
I stood in the corner with Dante sipping on some champagne. We made conversation as I watched Nadiné.
She was stunning. The way her silk dress showed off her curves, and the colour complimented her skin. I don't know what it was but she was just looking a little too good.
I could see she was genuinely happy now. Her and her mom were talking with relatives and were clearly having a blast. Seeing her happy kept me at peace.
"Nigga did u hear a word I said?" Dante asked gaining my attention back to him.
"Nah my bad." I chuckled sipping on some more champagne.
"Aye look who's coming." Dante says tapping me.
I turn around and notice Rashaad coming towards us. My heart was thumping. The guy was scary asf if I'm being real. I could tell Nadiné gets all her toughness from her father. It speaks for itself.
"You is James right?" He asks me in a deep tone.
"Uh Yh that's me. This my boy, Dante." I replied.
"Let's talk somewhere more private. Follow me." He says walking towards the exit of the dining room.
Me and Dante look at each other before following him. We enter this sort of sitting area away from the dinner party.
"Take a seat." Rashaad says while pouring a drink.
He passes me and Dante a glass of whiskey."So you with my daughter James?" He asked me making me heart sink.
"Yes I am." I replied after a while.
"Do you love her?" He questioned me.
"With everything I have. She's my world." I answer.
