Dante's POV~
It's been 3 days since the funeral. I've been trying to avoid being suspicious especially from Nadiné and James.
The way Nadiné looked at me at the funeral, it was almost as if I did something to her.
I was at Terrence's bar, smoking a blunt while he cleaned up. I was just thinking about the whole thing, I didn't even realise how late it was.
"U good?" Terrence asks me while pouring us both a drink.
"Ion know man. The way Nadiné looked at me at the funeral, she defo knows something." I said recalling the funeral.
"What makes you think that?" Terrence asks confused.
"Ion know. The girl is smart asf. I need to get outta town before shit gets heated." I said sipping on my drink.
"Where you gon go?" Terrence ask wiping the table.
"I might go down to London. I got a friend there who could help me. Plus I need to be as far away from here as possible." I sighed.
"Aight. But you gonna need a new identity." Terrence replied.
"Yea especially if the feds are on my ass." I said kissing my teeth.
"Whatcha mean "on your ass" you got rid of all the evidence like I told you to, didn't you?" He exaggerated looking up at me.
The truth is I didn't get rid of it. I only remember Ms Loretta swiping the gun away from Aaliyah's body meaning it must be under the bed.
"Oh shit." I cursed getting up and walking towards the door.
"Where tf is you going?" Terrence shouts.
Before I could even walk out, Nadiné and James walk in.
There was a moment of silence as Nadine stared at me with disgust.
"And how can I help the two of you?" Terrence asks them standing beside me.
Before James could even let out a word, Nadiné interrupts him.
"I know what tf you did. You killed me cousin and got my motherfuckin uncle to clean up your shit. No wonder why the both of you have been together this whole time. What, you thought we wasn't gonna find out?" She spat looking me dead in the eye.
My heart thumped outta my chest as I tried to keep my composure.
"Where's your proof? Cause you comin in here making accusations and shit, but how tf do you know I did it? Or is the pregnancy getting to your brain?" I smirked.
Terrence chuckled looking at me.
"My nigga watch you not gon do, is speak about her or our child." James said sternly, moving closer to me.
"James, it's not worth it." Nadiné tells him pulling him back.
"Nah nah. You ain't never been loyal and all this bullshit just proves my point. The truth gon reveal itself. And then what tf you gon do next huh? You can run but you can never hide." He spoke looking me dead in the eye.
"Yall can get the fuck outta this bar before it gets real messy." I replied coldly, lifting my shirt revealing my pistol in my strap.
Nadiné looked at the gun and laughed.
"You think this shit gon scare? Nigga think again. I'm gonna make sure you rot in jail. And I promise you that." She whispered into my ear as she walked out, James following close behind.
My heart thumped outta my chest. I had to get the fuck outta here. And I had to leave before shit goes down.
Me and Terrence both watched as they pulled off.
"You need to leave tomorrow night. I will get you a ticket to London and a new identity. From there you on your own." He spoke walking away.
I left the bar and got into my car. I sat there for a minute before driving off.
I needed to get to the gun before anyone else does. But how tf am I supposed to do that after what just happened?
I kept thinking about it as I drove back to the house...
