Nadiné POV ~
Me and James both sat in the interrogation room waiting for Detective Walters. After what felt like an eternity, a tall white woman, with curly brown hair, dressed formally with a file in her hand, came walking in.
(Detective Walters)
"Sorry for the long wait, Mr James and Mrs Nadiné." Detective Walters says sitting down.
"So what's so important that we have to be called in to the station?" James asks getting straight to the point.
"Right. We did an investigation of the crime scene and noticed a hole in the wall, the size of a bullet. But that's not all. We got the autopsy report this morning and she was shot in the back. Meaning there was no way she would have killed her self." Detective Walters explained while showing the images and report of the autopsy.
"Oh my god. I knew it. She was murdered." I said feeling my anger slowly rising.
"This is where you two come in. Do you have information about anything that took place the night of her death?" The Detective asks looking at me and James.
"Nah not that know of." James replied.
"Actually I saw something. Dante, James' best friend and my uncle Terrence have been acting very suspicious ever since her death. They've been having numerous convos. Also, Dante was the only other person in the room with Aaliyah." I explained remembering the night.
"So this Dante guy. Has he been around ever since her death?" Detective asks me while writing down notes.
"Uh not really. Last time I saw him was at the funeral earlier today. But he was with my uncle Terrence once again." I replied rolling my eyes.
"Okay well I'm gonna look more into this Dante guy. See what I can find out. I will call you both when I find out something. But for now you can both go." She says getting up and gathering the reports.
"Alright thank you." I said getting up.
Detective leaves the room, leaving just me and James.
James sits backs down sighing.
"Dante killed Aaliyah. I know he did. Uncle Terrence must have helped him cover it up. It all makes sense." I said sternly.
"You can't make assumptions like that Nadiné. What if he didn't huh? Then what?" He replied looking up at me.
"I know your not seriously backing him up rn. James, he was the only one in the room with her meaning he was the only one that could have done it. He hasn't been here ever since her death. Cause he knows we were gonna find out real soon." I said crossing my arms.
"Aight so even if he did do it, what was the reason?" James says standing up.
"That's what we need to find out. Let's go." I said while walking towards the door.
I knew that something wasn't right. And now everything made sense now. The only question is, why the hell would he do such a thing? And what does Uncle Terrence got to do with all this?
