Chapter 18
"My fellow Americans, I come tonight to tell you that the plan to wipe out homelessness is working. All over the United States, people are being gathered into rehabilitation centers to be evaluated. The homes and towns left bare by those leaving for Israel are being purchased by the United States Treasury and used to house the homeless while they are being retrained to enter the work force. Those that are mentally incapable, at this time, to work are being moved to group homes with trained staff to help them. I know that there have been dissenters that say we are taking away their rights or forcing healthcare that they do not want. The Supreme Court has ruled in our favor. We have been supporting and helping the homeless, in general, looking after their welfare for so many decades without giving them lasting help. Our Band-Aid approach to helping these homeless folk has been a burden on the American people far too long. They need lasting help that would give lasting results. We will give them all healthcare, homes to live in, training and a new life and we will have cleaner streets. This is a gift we can give our citizens and our future generations.
We have accomplished much the last three months. I am proud of what we have been doing. I have more good news. The borders have now been closed. The last of the Israeli people that we were willing to accept are now here. Other countries are stepping forward to give the last of the refugees homes and safety. I am proud of our global community. We worked well together in many things these last couple of months and I look forward to more of the same.
I have recalled all of our military home. We will keep most to guard our borders and keep the safety of our citizens a top priority. I will be offering retirement packages, with full benefits, to anyone who has served this country for longer than ten years. You will be able to retire with full honors. You have earned your rest. For the time being, we will keep our military. We plan on, if things work out, a full dismantling of our military before the end of my term as President. I believe we are entering into, finally, a new age of peace world-wide and I cannot help but be excited about it.
I am sure there will be a few growing pains are we enter this new time of global peace but we will endure. I have spent the last three weeks working on a farming stimulus package. We will be begin growing all our own food and using our own resources. For a time, this will cause some shortages, as I have been made aware. With planning, we have stockpiles of these items. You will not want for food or necessary supplies. I know things are going to change, but they will be changing for the better. We will be Americans together. All working towards the day that we can re-enter the global market stronger and more stable, safe from all forms of attack.
One of those attacks came from hackers last week. Millions of people and businesses were affected. The internet is no longer reachable by the American people. Our teams have been working around the clock for a new multi-user system that would be private and unhackable by anyone in the world. It should be ready for testing next week and then you will have the same types of programs available to you, only they would involve Americans and their values. I know this has been tough, especially for the banking system to be without these devices. We have made special provisions for an early launch for businesses and banking institutions. We will never be vulnerable like that again, I swear it.
We are going to build America as she should have been from the beginning, the way the founders intended. Where we are all equal, no divisions, working to the greater good of all mankind. Where we owe no one else credit for our successes or our failures. Where other countries own part of our debts and use it to put pressures on us, control us. I have proven successful in making America safe to live here. We have not had one incident since the signing of the documents with the Imams. Trust me to guide us into this new age of peace. We can do this together. Thank you." Eve stepped away from the camera as it turned off.
"Think they will buy it?" she asked the man behind the camera. He shrugged. He really didn't care either way. He worked for The Man and if that is what he wanted her to say, far be it from him to correct The Man.
Chapter 19
"That was the sign gentlemen, I am proud how quickly things came together!" The Man said gleefully. "Tomorrow, I will take my place on the world stage. By next week, the next part of the plan comes into play. Remember your parts. We get the world leaders to sign the deal and then we start shooting the week after. Jordan is mine, I can taste it already. How delicious it is going to be!"
He looked around the room. The looks of greed and not fear of any kind, no reservations. It was beautiful to The Man. "Tomorrow, be ready. Do your parts well and you will be rewarded handsomely in the new kingdom. Fail, and you will never see it. Understood?" Around his sat ten chosen world leaders. Leaders he would install as his minor kings. The rest of the world would see world peace only after surrendering to him. The UN was his next stop, this was his moment to shine. "I will see you in one week, gentlemen. Continue to harass the Christians. I don't want it to be open season yet. I want open season to be bold and splashy, literally," he giggled in the most sinister way imaginable. "For right now, I want us to slowly bring them together, corral them, per se. It will be like shooting fish in a barrel as the old saying goes."
"Last thing," The Man said, "How are things with Jensen? Have we gotten a way into the facility yet? Has he been receptive to our overtures?"
"No," Imam Musa said, "he has a tight lock on security. He test flies his choppers day and night. He has four in his compound right now, ready to fly. When you give us the word, we can breach and take them over. He will not return my calls. His receptionist says he doesn't need help with religious matters and hangs up on me." He sounded indignant to the point of rage. "I welcome the moment to meet him face to face."
"Now, now, Musa... we need him and his team alive. I will keep them locked in chains if I must but I want those choppers. Once we have the plans and understand his technology, then you may kill him," The Man said with a smile. "But only if I get to watch."
"It would be my pleasure," Imam Musa said, relishing the thought.
"In due time, Musa, we will have all our heart's desires," The Man saidwith full conviction. "In due time," he repeated.
