AUTHOR'S NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've just realized that I haven't even uploaded in a while. Sorry to keep the people that are actually reading waiting. I'm just going to give up on setting up a comment/vote limitbecause no one seems to listen to them anyways. Half of you don't even stop to read the author's note. Thank you, those who are listening to my ranting. It just makes me sad that No one wants to support my writing. Or it's just that bad. :p It's probably just that bad. Which makes me feel so much better. [note sarcasm] So, here is the next chapter in the Dreaming of Wilderness book. Or story. Whatever. My ranting is now done and over with I guess. For now. Vote? Comment? FAAAAAN!?! I would totally love you forever.

CHAPTER FOUR

______________

There was no rain when I looked out from under the tree I was under this night. Sunlight was filter through the leaves, making it have a greenish hue. I stepped out in dark denim capris and a black t-shirt. My hair was pulled back in a tight pony tail as I looked around.

The trunks of the trees were about the size of my torso. I walked up to one. I was surronded by them. I figured they were all banana trees, since there were also bananas growing on them [A/N: I'm not one-hundred percent sure what a banana tree looks like. A/N]. I climbed quickly and efficiently and plucked a ripe banana off of its branch. I slid down, looking down at my black trainers. So I guess the color scheme was darker tonight. Or this morning. Which ever it was. I heard a groan from behind me and I whirled around, my banana flying through the air. Ben grunted as it hit his forehead. I gasped and my hands flew to my mouth.

  "Whoops," I said, breathlessly.

He was crouched on the branch of a different tree. I didn't know what it was, though. It had a lot of low hanging branches, though. Perfect for climbing. His dark hair fell over his face and his dark eyes were covered by his hand, but I could envision his bright, electric blue eyes. I snapped myself out of it quickly. Snap out of it, I thought angerly to myself. He almost screamed in frustration, and it made me jump backwards a few paces. He glared at me.

"Why!?" he exclaimed, jumping down and coming right up in my face. "Why must you hide your thoughts!? I'm not used to not being able to not know anything."

It was silent a moment. I heard a couple birds in the distance. He had sweat glistening off his forehead, as if he had been doing some hard work. His eyes looked angry. Why would he be angry? It was just my thoughts. Not much to really get from my mind. If I was reading minds, I would be happy that I couldn't read minds. To much comotion. I'd much rather be able to shift into different animals. That'd be so cool. My thoughts wandered off for a moment, but they snapped back. Guess what I did then?

  I started to laugh.

"What is your problem!? Don't you see that I'm not used to it at all? Not having the ability to read your thoughts at all? Not having a clue what you're thinking?" he asked.

  "Of . . . Course . . . . . I . . . Do . . . . . " I said between breaths. "I . . . Can't . . . . Read . . . . . Minds . . . . Try . . . . . . . . . . Asking . . . . . . . . . . . . Maybe?"

He glowered at me, and that made me laugh even harder. He paced back and forth, seeming to try to think of a way to shut me up. That was my guess, anyways. I sat on a rock, trying to stop, but it didn't work to well. I found something deep in my brain that made me laugh even harder and harder, until I couldn't stop. He seemed to be getting more annoyed each second. Something flickered through his eyes and I felt a spark of fear, but then I thought about when Skye had the same look pass through her eyes and then fell in the pool. He was in front of me before I could even process anything, pushing me up against a tree trunk. My guffaws slowly settled down to giggles.
