I walked out of the school, the cookies in hand. My car keys felt heavy in my pocket as I searched the parking lot for my baby. I hadn’t driven her since the day before yesterday and I was going through withdrawals. I finally spotted it and hurried over. I was only a few feet away when I saw the red on the trunk. I walked a little faster and stopped at the back of my car.
There was a little gem in spray paint drawn right under the back window. I sighed and walked around to the driver’s side. I slid into the car and turned on the engine. I threw the bag of cookies into the passenger seat along with my bags and slowly backed out of the parking lot and headed home.

I walked into my house and tossed my keys in the bowl by the door. I really didn’t want to be home, but there wasn’t anything else that I could do. I hadn’t made any more friends at school and I wasn’t really fond of any of the people that I’d met over the course of the past two days. I didn’t really want to try to get to know anyone… Especially Sapphire and Grey.
No, you want to know all about Grey, a voice echoed through my head.
I shook it, feeling hair falling out of my bun. I did not want to know anything about him… He was just an ass.
I walked up the stairs, being extremely careful not to fall as I ascended. When I reached the top, I slowly walked to my bed, kicking off my shoes as I went. I fell onto my bed, relishing the soft feel of the pillows as I snuggled into them. It had been an exhausting day and I really just wanted it to end, even if it was for a little while. I looked over at the cookies, which I had set on my bedside table. The entire cookie ordeal confused me. I didn’t know who would do that, but my best guess would be Cody. He seemed to be the kind, sweet person who would do that, but I hadn’t lost any other cookies lately. That just lead me into another circle of when I might have lost any type of sweet, sugary confection and I was just confused even more. I frowned as I flipped onto my back. My uniform felt uncomfortable right after and I slid all of my clothes off and stood, walking over to my dresser and finding a long t-shirt to wear to sleep. I pulled my hair out of its bun and ran my brush through it. It felt nice to get all the tangle and mess out of my hair.
I lay back in bed, curling up against the backboard and wrapping the blankets around me. I felt myself slowly drifting off and all my thoughts melting away.

I sat on a log, looking out at the pool of fish that I last remembered looking at with Ben. I smiled slightly
at the memory, but then realized where exactly I was. I blinked before standing hurriedly and looked
around for Ben, but I didn’t see his gangly mop of dark hair.
“Looking for me?” asked a voice from above.
I spun around to see the boy in question, hanging from a tree branch. I rolled my eyes as he grinned at me. “Maybe I was, but only to try and go in the opposite direction,” I snapped, somewhat jokingly. I wasn’t sure if I had forgiven him for everything yet, even though, looking back on it, there wasn’t anything to be mad at him for.
“That wasn’t very nice,” he said, jumping off the tree branch and taking my place on the log by the glowing water. He patted the seat next to him and I sat down, making sure to keep some space between us. I mean, he did randomly conjure up with a dog during a party, and no one seemed surprised to see it. I sent it away and I’m still confused about the whole thing. Add the cookies onto it and now you’ve got me, a dazed, confused mess. Who knew it could be so fun? Not.
“You’re choice of attire is… Interesting,” he said, a smirk growing on his face as his eye rakes my figure.
I glanced down and saw myself in the long t-shirt I had gone to sleep in. I let my hair fall in my face to hide my reddening expression. “Whatever,” was my clever response.
