Dipper's POV

I lock eyes with Mabel. She seemed like she was about to cry and then I hear her quiet voice call out. "Bro?"

She seemed to not be able to tell if it was actually me or all a dream. It must have a hard time. We have always done things together even when we feud. This time we had been apart for the longest we had ever been. I had felt as if it was a thousand years in the blank space I trained in and it had been at least a month for her.

I smile happy to see her again and respond simply saying "Yes Mabel it's me." After the words had left my mouth I was tackled by Mabel practically jumping into me for a hug. Tears were flowing from her eyes as she cried tears of joy. Her hug was so strong it would probably crush a normal person but it just further enhanced the feeling of being back home. I wrapped my arm around her and just stood there in a hug for a solid 30 minutes of just hugging and Mabel crying. Eventually, we let go and started to talk with everyone. There were a lot of questions from everyone. Most of them being similar to if I was safe and one more being where I had been for the past month-ish.

It took quite a bit of convincing but I had told them that once the pyramid collapsed I was lost in the Oregon woods living off the land and trying to find my way back home. I had first thought of telling the truth but there were a few kinks in that plan. First is the fact that I was now considered Bill's successor and Bill was the cause of Weirdmageddon. Not to mention he had manipulated Ford so I had a good feeling if he found out Ford would not be pleased. There was also the fact that even if I told the truth the fact that they would believe me without me transforming back. Even I think it would sound strange if your great-nephew just came back and say "LOOK EVERYONE I'M A SUPER POWERFUL DEMON NOW!!!". Finally, even if they did believe me they could easily say I'm just a demon pretending to be a dipper.

With all this in mind, I decided to stick with the getting lost story. I felt bad about lying but they had already been through so much already I wasn't about to throw a wrench of being a magical immortal creature now into that. All I had to do is find the right time to explain it and work it out. Not long after the questions I and Mabel were told to get some rest. As I entered my old room it felt reassuring that everything was still in its place.

It was a little dusty. I made a mental note to clean it with magic later. Then stopping myself mid-thought realizing I shouldn't use magic if I was caught in the act or traces of it were left I would be found out immediately. I scratched the idea and wiped the dust off my bed deciding to thoroughly clean the old-fashioned way in the morning.

As Mabel turns the lights off and we both tell each other good night. I relax in the feeling of knowing I was back with my family once again.
