Dipper's POV
I quickly notice my smirk and mentally try to stop myself. Come on dipper get some self-control. I shouldn't be acting like this I need to keep myself in check or I would be a demon.
First thing was first, I need to approach them. This would allow me to figure out the ideal way to lure them into a deal. By figuring out their desire I could easily decide the best course of action.
I put on an award-winning smile and wave at them. I take the mental note to initiation to start the conversation. This wasn't something I did back when I was human but eventually when you are trapped for a millennium or so you start getting antsy and with no one to talk to you get lonely. The only thing I could do to stop the feeling of emptiness was either talking with myself or an illusion and keeping busy such as magic, studies, making business cards, or learning the violin (that was one of my favorites)
Once I was face to face with them I had already instinctively held out my hand to shake politely. By the time I noticed I had done it my hand was being shaken by the girl with strawberry blonde hair. Luckily no fire if it was I would have been exposed immediately and just about anyone in town could probably remember the iconic magic of the demon that had completely desecrated their town just a month ago.
"Hiya I'm Dipper how are you today?" I question as I boot up the conversation. I still felt a little awkward about being the one to start it but the pounding noises in the back of my head kept me from wanting to back out.
I try to light the mood and act friendly which seemed to be working. The strawberry blonde girl smiled softly back at me as she shook my hand.
"I'm doing great thank you! I'm Renae and this over here is Alexandra." She motions to the semi-transparent magical being behind her. Long hair draped down to their waist. Their eyes seemed to have a coating of ice on them making them look similar to a ghost but based on their fashion style being relatively recent I wouldn't say they were.
Ghosts usually take a while to manifest and when they do the clothes ghosts died in are what they are stuck in. It makes it a lot easier to differentiate them from other creatures similar to them which seemed to be the case with Alexandra meaning she was probably a different species like a banshee or specter.
Contrasting to Alexandra, Renae seemed to be brimming with the life her strawberry blonde hair curled around and shaped her face as the rest was pulled up into a ponytail. Her outfit was bright pastel colors as she wore a pink crop top with a white undershirt and coral pants. She practically radiated sunshine. Her demeanor was similar to Mabel's as it seemed like she could brighten up a room.
She looked at me curiously. I try to start off the conversation with some small talk. Nothing heavy like I know you're having an existential crisis. It was more like basic questions and help to get ideas for Mabel's birthday present. After all, our birthday was coming up soon and I hoped to get her something nice but my current idea of a nice present might not be the best idea.
As they kindly give me a few suggestions based on what I had told them. They even offered to go shopping with me. I denied that but it didn't take much observation to tell that Alexandra was anxious her emotions were practically oozing off her. After gathering a decent amount of ideas on Mabel's presents and confirmation of a possible deal. I say my goodbyes.
I shake each of their hands once more as a farewell. I shake Renee's hand thanking her for her time and I hold out my hand to Alexandra she quickly grabs and shakes it. With barely enough time I slip my business card I had made (in my eternity of boredom) into her hand as we shake and walk away.
As I walk away her face turns immediately confused to see a card in her translucent hands. She looks at it swiftly not showing it to her best friend. I could practically read her mind. She was thinking things like "How did he know?" and "What gave it away?". Maybe my demonic intuition made it more obvious than what it was but at this point, my head was pounding and I felt sick. I needed this deal but now it was all in the hands of a client.
I laugh to myself through the pain as I fiddle with the extra business card in my hand. If this didn't work I might start having issues I have to start thinking of a Plan B. I scan the card it wasn't anything special it was a simple black card with an elegant font on it reading:
