Steve's POV

I'm trying not to get nervous when the twins vanish, I presume to figure everything out, but after they don't come back I start getting really nervous. I put myself in a dangerous position, and if this goes wrong I could be the next person they kidnapped, and it would be embarrassing to be traded for Tony. suddenly there's a swoosh and they are back. "We've made our decision. We want to talk to Stark and Barton."

"What?" Are they seriously asking for all three of us to talk to them at once?

"You heard us. We can't trust you lot quite yet, but if we can get all of you together then the holes in your story should become more obvious."

"Is that the only reason?" It's rude to be so suspicious of them, but I can not trust them yet.

"Also we want to figure out how this would work, and if anything happens after this we'll need to talk to Stark."

That sounds reasonable, and we need this alliance. "Okay. just let me go out and I'll signal the others."

"So you came in and didn't have a way to call for help?" Wanda asks, looking shocked.

"We figured that the sounds of fighting would be a reasonable signal if things went wrong, and I had no idea how long it would take if things went well, so a signal was a pretty bad idea."

"I guess, but that's still pretty stupid." Pietro says.

"What can I say? I'm an optimist."

"That's for sure," Wanda says with a laugh. "But sure, just remember, no tricks."

"Of course." It's a bit insulting that they think I would trick them like that, but a lot of people would so it does make sense that they would be on guard.

I step outside and wave my arms. Eventually they get the message and Bucky walks over. "What's going on Steve?" I do want him to pull me close, but that woul dbe unprofessional and I don't want to talk about our relationship in public again, or have it be on magazine covers everywhere.

"Wanda and Pietro have agreed to talk to me, Tony, and Clint."

"Why?" he has a point, even I don't entirely know.

"They want to talk to those two and I'm staying I guess? They said they would be up for a partnership if we did."

"Is that safe? And you shouldn't have put your shield down." I'm worried if it's safe as well, but I have to believe they won't stab us in the back.

"It seems safe, and besides, if we're going to be fighting with them we have to trust them. As for the shield, putting it down made her trust me more, so it was worth it."

"I guess, but it was risky." I hunch my shoulders a bit at his disappointed tone.

"Life is risky. Can you tell get those two down for me?"

"Yeah, no problem," Bucky says and turns away before mumbling something. He waits a minute before recieving an answer. "They'll be here soon, Clint has to come down a kinda tricky way to avoid exposing his hiding spot."

"Alright. I'm going to go tell them so they don't think we're plotting something." He nods sadly but we both know I have to go. Besides, if this goes well we'll be home soon with two new allies.

"Stay safe." he says quietly as he walks off, but my enhanced hearing catches the words as though he spoke them at a normal volume.

"So what's the word?" Wanda asks once I'm back by them.

"Clint and Tony should be coming now, it just might take them, particularly Clint a little bit to get down."

"Just remember, no tricks," Pietro warns over his sister's shoulder. His twin gives him a slight shove and he squeezes her shoulder in apology.
