Bucky's POV
"Alright," I say once the three of them have finished explaining to the rest of us what they learned from the twins. "Are we going to this extremely dangerous junkyard or not?"
"We're totally going," says Tony.
"It would be really risky," Bruce points out. "Considering what goes on in the Greek world, the fact that demigods don't go near the junkyard despite their need suggests that it's far too dangerous to be worth it, and we are mortal after all, except for Clint."
"We do need the weapons," Natasha points out.
"And we don't need to get killed like Nico's sister." Clint counters.
"She was just a child, we're far older and much more experienced. Besides, there's more of us and who knows, maybe the curses won't even affect us." Tony says.
"That's being very optimistic," Bruce warns, "we may be older, but they have powers we don't. You've seen what Nico can do, if his sister could do the same and still died while in a group with similar abilities we should be very cautious, we may actually be in more danger than them. What do you think Steve?"
"I think we should treat this like a different type of battle. The demigods are the veterans here, and if they say it's too risky we should listen to them. It is possible for us to kill with regular weapons, it's just harder. For now I think we should keep using regular weapons because we'd be taking a big risk that we might not need to do. However, I also think that if we expect to be in a major fight we would need weapons from their world, and to do that we would need to get them, so we should go get some before we need to be at the top of our game and so we have time to break them in."
"So what do you think?" Clint prompts because Steve isn't being very clear. What he said wasn't very decisive, but it was useful seeing both viewpoints. Steve always was good at looking at situations from multiple points of view.
"I'm torn, I think we should take some time to think about which path is the best, instead of reacting too quickly. If after sleeping on it the majority thinks we should go then I think we should talk to the demigods and then go if we're still convinced."
"I agree with Steve," I say because I don't want to keep talking about this. "Let's get back to the tower and talk about it tomorrow morning.'' Everyone seems to accept that so I pull Steve closer to use him as a pillow during the journey.
"So what are we going to do?" Tony asks when he walks into the room ten minutes late.
"You're late, we've already decided." Natasha says and Tony pales slightly before recovering.
"So, what are we going to do?" he asks again and for once sits down in his chair without spinning around or anything.
"We have decided to let the experts handle this their way without our interference," Clint says from his platform in the corner.
"What?! We can't just ignore the kids!" Tony burst out and I half expect him to storm out of the room.
"We aren't, we're doing what they asked us to do. They have made their wishes clear and we must abide by them," Natasha points out, "shoving ourselves into a dangerous situation after being instructed to stay out would be rude and potentially lethal to us and our allies. The smart thing is to help them when they come here, but we will not go looking for trouble or for people to help."
"But that's our job!" Tony wails and Bruce can't hold his laughter back any longer. At the noise Tony looks around, and while I can keep a straight face in the middle of all the lies, Steve definitely can't. "You lied to me?" Tony says and puts a hand to his heart. "I can't believe it, I thought I could trust you!" he even goes so far as to pretend to wipe a tear away.
