Deep within the depths of space within a strange garden of plants and minerals a figure sighs, and stirs a clear pool with one long inky black finger. A face appears in the liquid and the figure speaks a strange clanging crashing sound, unearthly and unnatural. The face in the liquid growls and speaks.

"You were supposed to ensure he would never wake up until his mind was fully erased!"

The figure makes a strange gurgling sound, laughter.

"The face in the liquid shudders and turns away."

Apologies I will not disrespect you again. The figure stirs the liquid once more and the face vanishes. The figure stretches and warps, morphing, shifting, changing and then it curls up beside the pool and falls asleep, or perhaps it falls into stasis; it simply is no longer turning its all seeing eyes toward the events below. It rests.

Percy's POV:

I shot up in bed breathing heavily sweat coated my body. I felt strange, uncomfortable. Something was wrong, I staggered to my feet finding that the loose pants I'd been wearing, some of Paul's old pajama pants, were even shorter then they'd been the night before I groaned, my bones ached, my head pounded. Something was wrong. So very wrong. I staggered to the door unable to find my center of balance, I bumped my shoulder into the doorway on the way out. I stumbled down the hallway. My breathing was coming faster now I felt sick, I was burning, it was so painful it reminded me of the river Styx. The door to the guest room across the hall opened and Annabeth stumbled out eyes groggy with sleep, hair wild, knife in hand, she saw me and her eyes widened.

"Percy?"

I moaned in response leaning against the wall sliding down it. Everything about my body felt stretched thin. Annabeth approached me cautiously, her eyes softening when she saw my face.

"Are you ok?"

I shook my head slightly, the pounding forcing me to drop my head into my hands right after. I grunted out a response, my throat aching and burning just like the rest of me.

"H-hurts."

Annabeth's eyes widened and she bolted to her feet calling out something down the hall. I couldn't hear anything anymore though the pain was getting worse and my brain was starting to feel like mush. Everything sounded far away as if I had cotton in my ears. Everything blurred Annabeth shaking me saying something, her mouth moving. Then there was another face in front of me, dark hair, dark eyes, Nico. Then more voices and I saw my mother then Frank? I didn't know anymore, I only knew something was happening. My eyes shot wide open and the others noticed but I couldn't focus on them. I could feel something building up inside me. I lurched back slamming my head into the wall as my back arched. I finally opened my mouth an unholy sound pouring forth as my body rebelled. Hands grabbed me trying to force me to relax to stop pressing against the wall, but as they dragged me my spine arched further it was in my chest I wanted it out. I WANTED IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Something flashed through my body spreading outward and at last the darkness claimed me.

Lilly's POV:

I hated Percy, I really did but I also loved him. Or at least the idea of him, the stories my mom had told me of him, and honestly I didn't hate anyone enough for what was happening to him. Whatever it was that was happening, I'd awoken to a frantic commotion in the hall and when I'd opened the door I found aunt Annabeth and uncle Nico frantically crouching over a figure in the hall and it didn't look like the Percy in the pictures I'd seen. He was bigger, about two inches taller, shoulders just slightly broader though over all he remained slim. No, the biggest change was his face; he looked older, the last vestiges of youth having vanished from his face. Gone was the 18 year old from the photos and here was a young man about Annabeth's age, huddled in misery against the wall. Then the others started arriving in their various ways: Aunt Piper, Uncle Frank, Aunt Calypso, everyone who'd come to visit when Percy had arrived earlier. Then suddenly Percy's eyes shot from hooded slits to wide eyes. His sea green eyes had a glowing ring of white light around them and when he opened his mouth the most horrible sound I'd ever heard emerged. He arched back head slamming into the wall and Annabeth and the others tried to hold him back from it only to have his spine arch further despite their efforts. Then his whole body...pulsed? It was hard to describe but this sort of wave rippled through his body and then percy went limp, eyes closed. Leaving behind this strange adult version of my long lost brother. As my adoptive aunts and uncles flew into a panic I faded back into my room, my brother's face flashing behind my eyes. In that moment I decided hated or not Percy was my brother, half brother sure, but my brother non the less and whoever had dared put that much pain onto his face, whoever had ruined his life so completely, whoever had torn him from my family, and prevented me from having a big brother growing up was going to pay. They were going to pay dearly.
