Peter's POV:

Ever since Percy and his girlfriend had last come to the tower I found myself unable to avoid mentions of them or evidence of them. From the major repairs the tower was undergoing, to Mr. Starks near obsessive need to find out more about them and those like them. I had to admit I'd done my own research as well, mainly in the form of...reconnaissance. Ok so essentially bribery, and stalking, but that was besides the point!

I'd stopped following Percy and co. when I'd nearly had my head taken off by a blade made out of shadows. I hadn't been spotted but they had apparently sensed I was there, which was a little freaky honestly. So I was currently working on my other source of information. Loki and Thor. I'd always liked hanging out with the two Asgardians, now I just had a little extra motive to do so. Mr. Loki very clearly knew what I was doing; he'd simply raised a single arched eyebrow when we met up for today. But he hadn't stopped me yet and I was listening enraptured to one of Thor's stories about a demigod who'd battled an entire undead army, when the door to the café we were at opened with a ding of the bell, and set off my spidey sense into a horrifying clanging. I sat bolt upright and turned toward the door ready for anything and found myself staring at a young adult male who looked eerily similar to Percy.

It was honestly scary how much he looked like him, we made eye contact and his eyes widened in surprise before he began walking toward us. My spidey sense slowly chilled out, and soon the man was right next to us, his ocean eyes eyeing us up and down.

"How have you guys been since the attack on the tower?"

I stared at him in surprise and confusion.

"Percy?"

The man nodded.

"Yea, it's me. In the flesh."

"But-"

He cut me off.

"No I don't know how this happened, welcome to the life of a demigod it doesn't even make sense to the ones living it. The sooner you accept this as a truth, our lives become slightly less disturbing and confusing."

"Don't you just mean they become less confusing and disturbing?"

Percy looked me dead in the eyes.

"No, the slightly was intentional. My life will always remain confusing and disturbing. Accept this and move on."

I shut my mouth.

Thor chuckled.

"Hello young demi-god. Would you care to join us?"

Loki nodded.

"Yes please do sit. I would like to get to know the young demi-god everyone seems to be so interested in lately."

Percy snorted before sliding into the seat next to me.

"What aliens not enough of a novelty for you guys?"

Loki raised that thin brow for the second time today.

"Considering most aliens are really just neighbors I've had to deal with over the centuries, no they are not. But a demigod known for felling titans and Gaea herself. Well you can't blame me for being intrigued."

Percy's eyes narrowed.

"You know of me."

It wasn't a question. Loki nodded and leaned back his slender fingers interlocking on the table as he smiled kindly at Percy.

"Indeed unlike my brother and the Avengers, I like to keep tabs on as much as I can. I think I might even know the entity behind your latest predicament. Though I could be wrong, and I'm not allowed to tell you my guess. Not yet at least-"

He held up a hand as Percy stood with a snarl, his expression still calm.

"It's not that I don't want to, I literally can't. Unlike your Greek gods I'm not immortal and if I were to tell you my guess at this moment I would quite literally fall dead. Which would be rather unfortunate and unpleasant for me."

Percy sat back down slowly pacified for now, I shifted uncomfortably and coughed quietly.

"Well um so Percy this is Loki. Loki this is Percy. Percy do you, uh wanna order anything?"

The tension drained out of the room like a popped balloon, and Percy turned his attention toward me.

"Uh yea. Thanks. Any suggestions, I just thought this place looked interesting. I've never been here before."

I smiled, excitement filling me.

"Yea! The food here is sooooo good! But I like their English muffins the best! That and the hot chocolate!"

Percy listened to my advice and also strangely asked if he could have some of the candy from the side menu, but only the blue ones. The waiter looked a bit confused but agreed and disappeared to get his order. It was brought out in a few minute after some moderately awkward small talk and then-

"Yea I like video games but since I'm a demigod I don't get to mess with electronics much, I usually spend time practicing swordplay or playing capture the flag with the camp."

I lit up and leaned forward.

"Do you use weapons and powers in capture the flag?"

Percy nodded warily off put by the look on my face. My grin only grew wider.

"Do you wanna play with me and the other Avengers and sidekicks on Friday night?"

A slow smile spread over Percy's face.

"Sure why not?"
