"Annie!" I exclaimed.

She pushed Miles away. "Oh my god, Vice, this isn't what it looks like I swear! It was an accident."

"How could you do this to Rick?" I asked. "And Miles, what the actual fuck is wrong with you? Why do you always kiss the wrong person at a party?"

"Are you jealous Vice?" Miles asked. "I was actually in here for you, but then Annie came along."

"You're a prick." Annie shoved him before stalking out of the room.

"Seriously, what is wrong with you?" I shook my head. "Get out of my room, my dog needs to sleep."

"I imagine we'll talk later." Miles sauntered out of the room.

Ferris whined in my arms. "I'm sorry baby." I muttered. "People are the worst."

--

It appeared both Annie and Miles had left the party. I was glad for that. I was in no mood to deal with them right now.

I looked around and saw Monica and Percy in the corner snogging fiercely. Before tonight, I definitely wouldn't have called that one, but I'm glad Monica found a guy that most definitely wouldn't fall in love with me.

"Vice, I think I'll be heading home now." Mum hugged me tightly. "Thank you for a wonderful night."

"Anytime. I was so glad to ring in the New Year with you." I smiled. "It was a real life dream come true."

"I'll see you later darling."

George approached me. "Everything okay?"

"I'll tell you after the party." I muttered. "Our friends are just the worst sometimes."

"Well there's some good news; Sin and Fred have made up." He pointed over the other side of the room.

Sin was in Fred's lap kissing him passionately. I was glad to see that they were getting along again. With two weeks until their wedding, we could not afford to have any major fights. They were getting married if it killed me!

An hour later everyone was finally gone and it was just me and George and a sleeping Ferris. We waved our wands and easily cleaned up the living room. It was like there was never a party to begin with.

"So, what happened?" George asked.

"Miles and Annie were snogging in our room!" I exclaimed.

"You're kidding! Why does everyone we know kiss people they aren't dating?!"

"Everyone except us." I smiled. "I mean sure Rick kissed me, but I pushed him away, because I only love you."

"That's so funny because I only love you." George wrapped his arms around me and lifted me up.

"You really gonna marry me this year?" I asked as he walked us to the room.

"If it's the last thing I do."

--

I never did well with crying. Not my own or anyone else's.

So I was not doing well with Rick's. I guess Annie had been pretty prompt with telling him about her snog session with Miles on New Years. Rick was less forgiving than her because he broke up with her.

I guess it was kind of different. Rick kissed me once and realized his mistake and Annie fully made out with Miles on my bed. Who knows how much farther that could have gone if I hadn't walked in?

"I thought we were soulmates." Rick sniffed. "I told her everything."

"Oh, Rick I'm so sorry." I whispered. "You are going to find a great girl who loves you and doesn't want to kiss Miles Bletchley."
