"Anything new on Subject 68545, 68590, or 9133589?"
"No... but I can assure you sir we have it—"
"All under control? Yes... I know. You say that every check in. I've told you time and time again those mutants are valuable!"
"We know. And with Subject 7855 and 48115 will certainly come in clutch when it comes time to put the plan in motion."
"Plan in motion? We have been trying to get these three for weeks now. We have planned for years! This plan has been in motion for the past 8 months since we started our collection." he snapped.
"I'm sorry sir. I believe we are at the point I must retrieve them myself. These fools are incompetent."
"You better. Those 3 may be key to our project."
"I will not disappoint, sir."

"Took you long enough. Good thing I charge by the hour. If my sources are right, we don't have any time to waste."
"Did you really locate one of the infinity stones?" Kitty asked.
"Maybe. I got a tip that the Kingpin acquired some sort of amped-up crystal. Cant say for sure it's one of yours, but chances are good." Jessica assured
"The Kingpin?" Scott crossed his arms.
"You know: Wilson Fisk? Legitimate businessman by day, corrupt criminal overlord by night? That guy."
"Where is Kingpin hiding the stone?" asked Kitty.
"Well, he's not at Fisk Tower, which means he's probably holed away in that weird fortress of his— Shadowland. Just look for the ancient ninja temple on top of a skyscraper. You can't miss it."
"Great work, Jessica." Kitty nodded, impressed by her P.I. skills.
"Oh, you know me. I just love this superhero stuff..."

"Sorry gang, I've got another lead to follow up on. I'll meet up with you a bit later... but I'll stay in touch, just in case, okay?"
"Sure, thanks." Peter nodded, as they followed Scott into "Shadowland".
Once they got closer, a grey smoke appeared and ninjas clothed in red descended out of it.
"Woah! Are these things ninjas?" Ms. Marvel exclaimed.
"Jewel Jones didn't mention anything about sneaky little- garh—! Pesky ninjas!" Gwen yelled, as she threw one off of her.
"Jessica Jones— You mean! Ouch!" Wack! "Jessica Jones! But I get your point!"

"How much longer of this is there? One more punch and I'm going home!" Quicksilver groaned.
"Not that much. There's our girl." Clint replied, as they had gotten directions to meet back up with Jess.
Kitty slowly approached, waiting for the next set of directions, "Lemme ask you a question, how did this Bowling-King's ninjas figure out we were here?"
"While I waited for you to get here, my fellow Defenders went ahead inside. For some reason, those guys just can't resist all this stupid ninja crap."
"You don't really seem like the "super-team type..."
"Oh, I'm not. Spandex is my arch-nemesis. But someone's gotta keep the streets safe for normal people while all the other heroes are busy fighting giant squads on the moon or whatever."
"Uhh... okay? How do we get into Shadowland?"
"It looks like the temple is on high alert. That's on us. The Hand already sealed off the main gates. But I think I can remedy that..." she turned around and stared deeply into the control panel of some sort of draw-down bridge. Though she stared at it like it was some complex mechanism, she didn't hesitate a second after she blew one punch to it and it lowered right down for them.
"Well that's one way to do it." Spiderman shrugged.
*
"And that's the last I remember. Until we were bombed and I woke up here."
"It's fine. There were only two others in your pack that were put under, but the rest are still working on the stone." the SHIELD director spoke, "However, I don't want any of you back out there until the Doctors say so, got it?"
Kitty couldn't agree to that.
"Got it?" he repeated.
"Uhh you're breaking out! Oh- gotta go bye!"
"I'm happy you didn't say anything." said a voice, as the cubicle curtain was ripped open and Kitty jumped out of her skin.
"$&@!... thank lord it's just you!"
"Yep, just me." the marksman nodded.
"So... uh..." Kitty twiddled with her wristband and finger combed her hair, anxious to ask him when exactly they were going to plan their escape.
"I know what you're thinking. And I have a plan."
"Go on."

"Why exactky is Tony hosting a party, again?"
"When we were knocked out he managed to sneak out of the mission and volunteered to bring us to safety. And because he has some business deal he's gotta work out. I dunno. He tends to do that stuff."
"Well I'm just gonna say it now. I hate parties."
"Really? You seem like you're the life of it."
"No, not really. I've been raised at Xavier's since I was fourteen. I may have a huge personality but we weren't really supposed to be doing that stuff."
"Makes sense."
