I just wanted to let you know it's my first time and there is probably alot of spelling mistakes. But as I write more I hope I'll get better. Anyways I hope you enjoy.

These past years have been rough for me and my family. We have had ups and lots of downs. So my mom and my step dad wanted to start over. The best option was to move to a totally new area better known as San Fernando Valley. I have been depressed lately. It mostly started when my mom married my step dad. He was kind and everything but I kinda wish she still loved dad. But as long as my mom is happy… I'm happy.
I woke up at about 7am. That had been the earliest I've woken up in a while. The Moving truck was there before us because we were stuck in traffic. I rubbed my eyes and unbuckled my seatbelt.

“Well guys home sweet home” Mom smiles. I get out and look around. The town is way more different that I have imagined.

“ Lydia Dear come and help your mother unpack” Steve barked.

“ Okay! Coming!” I ran over to the moving van and I started grabbing boxes. Most of them were my step dad Steve's baseball stuff. The one thing we both had in common was baseball. He knew everything about baseball even more than my dad did. My dad is the reason I ever liked baseball but now that I'm living with my mom and step dad it doesn't feel the same. I mean I love Steve but I miss my dad so much. I haven't seen my real dad in so long… I miss his laugh, his smile, his stories about him playing baseball with his friends-

“ Lydia we don't have all day sweety” Called my mom from inside the house.

“ Right, sorry,Coming!” About 30 minutes later we only had a few more boxes. Most of the boxes were for my room.

It's about 7:30 am and I'm tired. My parents went to take a nap after driving for like 4 days. I picked some of the boxes and noticed a boy wearing a baseball jersey and a glove and a bat. He was tall, and had beautiful tan skin, and brown hazel eyes, and not to mention really good looking.

I totally forgot what I was doing. I stopped dozing off and began to carry my boxes trying not to get distracted by the boy. I was focusing so much that I tripped and all the boxes with my baseball stuff, clothes, and some of my dad's things fell all over.

“Ah- crap….” I sigh trying to pick up everything. My clothes spilt everywhere along with my baseball stuff. I hear footsteps coming behind me and grabbing things. I turn around quickly and see the boy helping me pick up my clothes. My face turns a bright red when I realise he picked up my bra and a few t-shirts. I don't think he noticed.

“ Um er- thank you-” I say awkwardly, grabbing the clothes out of his hands and shoving it into the box.

“ No problem.. I'm Benny, Benny Rodriguez,”  He smiled, holding out his hand.
“Oh um hi im Lydia Johnston” I shake his hand and smile back. Wow, did he have a nice smile?

“ You like baseball-” He observed.

“Oh um how could you tell?” He pointed to the box with all my baseball stuff.

“Oh right” I laugh. We finished picking up the rest of my things.

“Need any help carrying anything inside,”  He offered.

“Oh um are you sure- I mean- if you're not busy,” I rambled.

“ I don't mind” he picks up some boxes. We walked into the house trying to avoid all the boxes everywhere and I tried to avoid my parents but of course my mom had to show up at the worst time.

“ Hi Lydia- Oh who is this~” Mom winks. “ He's a cutie~”

“ MoM sTop you're embarrassing me…” I cover my face with the boxes.

“Hi, I'm Benny, I live across the street. I was helping carry stuff.” He looked at her and set down the boxes to shake her hand. She looked down at him and noticed his jersey.

“So you play baseball? '' She asks, pointing at his jersey.

"Actually, it's my favorite thing.”

“ Aw Lyd he's just perfect for you.”

“Ok mom, we're going to put this stuff in my room now.” I walked into the room with Benny following right behind.
He followed me into my room. We set the boxes on my bed and sat down.

“I'm sorry about my mom, she can be a bit over the top,” I laugh.

“ I don't mind,” He smiles.

“ Well thank you for helping and everything.”

“ Anytime, speaking of time do you know what time it is?” He looks concerned.

“ It's probably  10 till 8” I suppose.

“ Crap, I gotta get to the SandLot.” He grabs his glove and bat.

“ Well it was nice meeting you Lydia.”

“ Same to you.” He waved goodbye and left. I sigh as i watch him go.
I wished he had stayed longer but I guess he was needed elsewhere. I left my room and went into the kitchen where Steve was.

“ Who was the boy”He asked looking at the newspaper.

“He's no one,” I lied. He looks up from the paper.

“ Then what was he doing in my house,” He glared.

“Well I dropped my stuff outside and he was nice and help bring it all inside.” I smile awkwardly.

“ Stevie its just her friend you don't always gotta protect her you know, he seemed like a very nice boy.” Mom chuckled.

“ Say what was the boy's name?” He questioned.

“ His name is Benny, Benny Rodriguez,” I said.
