It was silent for a moment. The wind blowing, crickets chirping, frogs croaked. Just me and Benny sitting on the roof of a tree house.

It's been a week since the fight. It's been pretty awkward between everyone. I haven't talked to Benny or Yeah-yeah. I think I need some time by myself. But what's worse is I'm on my period.
I got out of bed and went downstairs to get breakfast. I open the cabinet and get out the Frosted Flakes. I sat at the table and poured the cereal and the milk. I look out the window and see some of the boys walking with Benny.
I had a busy day today. So no baseball, if that was even going to happen today. I finish eating and put my bowl in the sink. I go back to my room to get ready.
I brush out my hair and get dressed. I put on my baseball necklace my dad got me when I was 7. Gosh I miss him. He got me and my brother matching ones. Wow… I wonder what they're doing right now.
I go to the bathroom and do my business. I finally go outside and begin to start the day. I begin by going to my dad's diner. Both my parents work so I don't spend a lot of time with them anymore. I walk into the diner. It's always busy here. I'm very glad but at the same time that means I have to help him.
"Yeah-Yeah your face looks better" Timmy says. Yeah-yeah smiles and keeps walking. Both groups of boys soon meet up… by accident. They just stop and look at one another.
"Awkward…." Squints whispers.
"Hi! My name is Lydia, what can I get you started with today!" I take their order. I smile and give the paper to Steve. I enjoyed working at the diner. It gives me something to do besides baseball. I wonder what the boys are up to…
Benny and Yeah-yeah look at eachother. Not saying a single word.
"Where's Lyd?" they both ask. They both are shocked and glare at one another. The boys sigh.
"Can you two get along for five minutes?" Ham begs. " Besides Lydia is at her dad's diner." They all smile and begin running towards the diner. I go to the back room to get plates of food. I bring them out and serve them.
They boys come barging into the diner. Everyone stops and stairs. I look over and slap my forehead.
"Lyd I need to talk with you…. Now" I sigh and walk over to the back room with my dad. The boys quickly find a big booth and sit there.
"Lydia, you need to tell your friends to stop barging into here. They do it every week."
"Ik. Ik. I'm sorry it's just been rough. I'll tell them." I smile and hug him.
"Thanks honey!" He chuckles and gets back to work. I get my pen and paper and go to the boys table.
"Hey guys! What can I get for ya." They all just stop and stare. We finally got new uniforms here. We had old ones from our old diner. But these ones are so cute and soft. (outfit below)

They say nothing and just look at me.
"Um i'll just get you some pop and come back when yall are ready…." I write down pop and give it to one of the workers. They sat in silence for a few minutes.
"Yeah-yeah… Man I'm sorry" Benny sighs and rubs the back of his neck. Yeah-yeah smiles and playfully punches his arm.
"Payback" Yeah-Yeah smiles. They both chuckle and everyone is happy again. I get the pops on the trays and walk over to their table.
"Here you guys go" I place the drinks down and everyone grabs one. They all look so happy.
"So is everyone good now?" I ask hoping they would say yes. Benny glares at Yeah-Yeah and they both laugh. I smile and walk away. Yup this is how I know everything is going to be awesome.
"Wowzer! Can we talk about uniforms?" Squints smiles and takes a sip of his pop. Both Benny and Yeah-yeah hit his arm.
"Ouch… I was just messing around." He wines.
"Well then don't be a perv" Benny smiles. They all look over at me taking some guys and his friends order. I scribble down their order and walk away fast.
“Hey come on Mama, we don’t bite” One of the guys say while the others laugh amd whistle. I look over at them and their looking at my butt. I hurry and walk into the back room and give them the paper and sit on the ground. Mascara is running down my face. I hear the bell ring, witch means i need to get back to work. I wipe off my face and get up. I get their food and put it on the trays. I walk over to the dudes table.
“ Here. Enjoy..” I mumble. As I begin to walk away they ask to order something else. I sigh and click my pen. I turn around and ask what they want. And to hurry because im busy. I look over at my friends and they're looking at me and quickly look away.
“Yeah we want 3 sundays and add extra chocolate.” I sigh and write that down.
“My name is Antonio” he smirks and kisses my hand. I quickly pull my hand away.
“What do you say me and you go somewhere just me and you tonight.” He smiles and his friends laugh. I was shocked. These are grown men. There at lest late 20’s early 30’s.
“Im only 15...-” I walk away and give the paper and go sit with the boys.
“ Hey..” I sniffle while sliding into the seats
“ Whats wrong?!” They all ask. Benny looks into my eyes looks back at the men's table and glares.
“ What did they say.” He asks angrily. I look at him and I can tell he knows. He sits there tapping the table. I can tell hes going to blow up on these men.
“Lydia dear! I need you please.” One of the workers says while ringing the bell.
“Okay coming! Ill cya guys later!” I stand up. “ Ill also see if i can get yall some icecream.” They all smile and cheer. I give Antonio their sundays. Finally my shift is finished. Its over. I take off the uniform and change into my normal clothes.
I run back to the boys and one by one i sneak them into the back to get a sunday. Benny was keeping watch making sure we didn't get caught. It was Bennys turn get a sunday. I walked into the back room and he crouched.
“Hey Lyd!”
“ Hey” I smile and wait by the sunday station. Benny stands up and begins making his sunday.
“Hey! Whats he doing here!” We both freeze. Crap we were caught.
“RUN”
We run out of the backroom and catch up with all the other boys. Everyone laughs and giggles. Im happy everything is back to normal again…
AN: HIIII! Ik this chapter is kinda random, but i still like it. The story will go back to being mostly at the sandlot now that they are friends agian. Thank you for reading!! It means so much!!
