Step up to the plate and batter up

Pool day

It's been a week and everyday that week I went to the sandlot and played ball. The days have been getting hotter and hotter by the minute. It was 8am and I was running late to the sandlot.

" Finally where have you been?" Ham shouts.

"Sorry I had to do some chores' ' I sigh while wiping the sweat off my face.

"Here" Benny smiles and hands me a coke.

"Thanks" I say while popping off the cap and taking a sip. Benny goes down to my ear and whispers

" I made sure to save you the coldest one" I look at him and laugh quietly.

" Where are Squints and Yeah Yeah? '' I ask?

" No clue they were getting a ball but it's been like 30 minutes.
I hear talking from behind me and to my surprise-

"Where have you guys been? We've been waiting out here forever already."

"Aw, Squints was pervin' a dish" Yeah Yeah explains.

" Shut up. I wasn't" Squints yells while looking at me. They begin arguing back and forth.

" Yikes" I laugh.

" I know right they can't spend one day without arguing with one another," Benny chuckled. We both laugh and sit down.

" This pop isn't working, Benny," Ham sweats, "I'm baking like a toasted cheese! Its so hot here!" I laugh and sip my pop.

"It's 150 degrees out there. You cant play baseball. You have to call it for the day" Squints adds. Everyone starts to agree with him and Benny sighs.

" Vote then." Benn snaps. I sigh and walk away from all the drama. about a minute later I hear laughing and shouting saying,

" Scam pool honeys!" "Oh boy" I sigh.

I made it to the pool finally I got lost but I eventually found it. I run into the changing room and change into my sage green bikini. I hear splashing and laughing so I'm assuming they were already there. I hope they don't think i left them. I walked out of the changing rooms and started walking to the pool.

" Hey look its Lydia. And Oh wow.." Squints points.

" Wow, she's hotter than I remember," Timmy gazed.

" Wow she's hotter than I rem-"

" Shut up Tommy here she comes" Benny hits his arm.

"Hi guys is the water nice?" I ask sitting on the edge of the pool.

" Very nice.." They all say while staring at me.

"That's good, Oh crap i forgot to put on sunscreen i'll be right back, do you guys need any." I say while getting up. They all just noted their heads. I ran over the the chair where I put all of are towels and grabbed the sun screen.

"She's even hotter than Wendy," Ham smiles.

"Yeah..she is" Benny observed while scanning me.

" She's Hot but not as hot as Wendy." Squints says while looking at Ham and Benny.

I started putting on sunscreen. I start rubbing it on my legs. At this point all the boys were all day dreaming.

I look over at them and see them them quicky look away and act like they were doing something else.

"You boys coming, y'all said you needed some." Their faces all lit up and ran out of the pool. I passed around the sunscreen.

"Can you help me Lydia, I need to put the sunscreen on my back, I cant reach." Yeah-Yeah sighs. I laugh and put sunscreen on my hands and rub it on his back. Benny glared at Yeah-Yeah who was smirking.
