Three maids barged into my room at the crack of dawn

I sat on the bed, rubbing my eyes sleepily

"What?" I croaked

When I heard no response I willed eyes open and saw them lining up horizontally just gawking at me

My eyebrows scrunched up in confusion forming a frown

"I didn't do anything!" I defended, feeling uneasy under their boring stare

'Yet' the little voice in my head added

I asked why did they went in without my permission and their answer was a simple 'the lord orders'

Father...

Yeah, I can see that's a reason to barge into my room without my consent, drag me out of my bed.

Emphasizing all the 'my's

That explains everything. Note the excessive use of sarcasm

A high-pitched cry brought me out of my musings

"Ohh which dress shall we choose?"

make-up bimbo 1 cried out killing my eardrums in the process

I love making up names for people, and hers is make-up bimbo

Why? Because she had a make-up kit attached to her belt just like the two others

For what reason? I'll never know

I sat patiently on the bed still wearing the bathrobe and waited for the bimbos to decide

"This one's cute!" another one gushed excitedly

"Which one? Soft pink or shocking pink?" make-up bimbo 1 chirped.

"I say shocking pink!" make-up bimbo 2 replied.

And I say, neither.

"No, the soft pink dress compliments her skin!" make-up bim- you know what let's call them bimbo 1, 2 and 3

That's better

"How about this one?" Bimbo 3 suggested

It's a very frilly dress complete with the big bow and guess what...it's pink

I closed my eyes in frustration

Everything is pink around them

My patience is wearing thin, it's time to pitch in

"Ladies" I said, standing from my sitting position.

"Can I decide on my own? after all I am your mistress" I said pressing on the word 'own'

"Request denied" the three bimbos said in unison.

I stared back into three sets o eyes Okay... That's creepy

What are they anyway?

"at least let me choose the dress?"

They looked at one another hesitantly and Bimbo 1 whom I suppose is the leader called for a group huddle

I raised my eyebrows, childish much?

They faced me and reluctantly nodded

"Yay!" and Attempt to blend in with their 'bimbo ways' failed as now it's their turn to raise an eyebrow

"Right, let's see.." I said as I dived into a mountain of clothing lying on the ground.

Literally mountain of it

Okay that's exaggerating, hill is more like it

After being completely submerged, my head popped out "Uh.. What's the occasion?"

The bimbos sighed dramatically

Apparently its a ball, dancing, formal, itchy dresses yeah that

And not so small either

"Lady Aisling Dementri Fraythern"

Gosh I hate my name

That was the second thing I thought of as the announcer read out my name

The crowd that was once buzzing with excited chatters developed an eerie silence

Turning to the sea of people below, my third thought was 'If looks can kill, I'd be a goner'

I descended the stairs as graceful as I can, avoiding their critical stares

After what it seems hours my white heels met the auburn carpeted floor

And since nobody had started laughing, I can assume I had not face planted the floor

Bloody heels

At that moment life flooded back to the room, chattering once again filled the dead silence

I took my place next to father who was wearing a well-tailored white suit, his massive wings forever attached to his back

Oh how I would love to rip them off

I,myself, was wearing a beautifully tailored off shouldered white dress

The only thing missing was a pair of white wings

After a lot of introductions and a few disdainful looks later

Father finally gave me some slack and I wondered off to find a drink and maybe a snack or two

But everywhere I go its the same case, their facial expression held the same thing either disgust or hatred.

Yeah sure I don't have those fluffy white stuff growing on my back, no need to treat me like I'm vermin

I sighed grabbing a mini croissant on the way

Done with my attempt of socializing or lack thereof I finished the croissant in one bite

Along the way I found an open window door leading to one of the balconies and slipped away from the crowd and out to the open night air

A slight breeze gave me goosebumps and I involuntarily shivered

What I did not expect was a voice

"What do we have here?" a voice said in a sing-song tone

A voice that definitely belong to a male

I spun on my heels to face the owner of the voice feeling dizzy for doing so too fast

A figure leaned to the balcony doorway, it's eyes a bright shade of blue, so bright as if it was glowing
